How can a CODE FOR GIFT CERTIFICATE be out of stock?
I feel like The Machine is trying to dodge the unfavourable $/£ exchange rate.
I would email, but we all know Stars and their polite, but BS responses ;o
Well to add some usual boring contents, Here is my Graph for today:
I Can't control myself, and whenever I start running bad I go up to 6-9 tables, where I incredibly suck and would be slightly above break even in the long run imo ( as I start to autopilot) http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/9181/kekep.png
Luckily I got two nice stack offs at the end so the day is still in + despite the tilt.
I also now plan to take shots at NL100 at 2-3 tables once my BR reaches $2400 while still playing NL50, as weak BR seems to be the only real cure for my multitabling urges and I even cool down a bit when higher % of my BR is at stake.
One fun hand (the river was very marginal, as was not raising the turn ;o)

You have a STR8 flush?? I'm aaaawwww eeeeennnby 4Kingell, July 22
So I had a trip to the Victoria casino London a couple of days ago with a mate Tim(4KingGenius here on LP). We used to work together and now he moved away and we met up for some poker and a few drinks.
Sitting at a £1/£1 table where we had been for a few hours and we get a guy joining the table who had never played poker before - and I mean NEVER - and really didn't speak much English.
So Tim gets in a hand with him after the newb limps UTG Tim raises to isolate from the button with K5cc. Newb obliges and calls. Flop brings JcTc4h giving Tim the FD and action is check, bet, call. Turn completes Tim's FD with 7c and action again is check, bet, call. River brings 8c. Action - newb checks, Tim asks the guy how much he has behind as the guy is covering his chips with his hands, intending to put him all in for anything under pot, thinking he is only scared of the Ac. The guy doesn't understand so turns over his hand and exposes the 1/4 pot stack he has left at the same time. Tim sees the stack, no Ac and insta says 'I'm all in' and the guy calls. As the guy had turned over Kx9c it was a fairly easy call even for a newb....whole tables laughing....newb doesn't get it.
I will be enjoying this one for years to come. Thanks Tim.
So I got this new book, "Kill Everyone", about "advanced" tournament strategy. Got it because it had some pretty descent reviews, because, you know, the title is pretty lame, and the first impression when you see the title is "oh, another content-less poker book".
But it had some pretty good stuff in it. Like WHY you should resteal wider with certain stack sizes compared to others. BigRed and Twisted and others had made some posts in the Tournament forum saying about the same, but it was too brief for me at least: it's really cool though when guys like that share wisdom.
There is also very interesting stuff about the bubble, where they calculate "how badly" you need the chips you are risking. It is:
(-tournament EV if I lose)/(+EV if I win).
Clearly, in cash games it is always 1, and in tournaments it is always >1. Near the bubble it becomes higher because ICM effects become stronger. The highest bubble factors occur in big stack vs big stack and medium stack vs big stack confrontations, when especially when there are a lot of shorties.
So this somehow drives us to the point that if you are a medium stack before the bubble, you kind of have very limited options.
Do you adjust according to this, i.e. do you gamble more pre-bubble trying to double up your medium stack so that you have "abuse potential" on the bubble? Because if this potential is sufficiently large, you can take certain -EV flips! This is just theorizing though, so share your thoughts!
I quickly stack up 3bi profit today in a nice hand, 5 hands later I get coolered for 120bb, then I lose 80bb more by getting pooped on by the deck. Then I'm str8 up tilted and leave with my whopping 500 bucks.
Meanwhile I have to watch this bad nit/spazz cooler the shit out of people, flopping 5 fucking sets in 1 hour, and bust five fucking people.
BLEH. I hope I reach my goal for july/august. That's all that matters and I suppose I have plenty of time to do so (4-5 weeks).
Today has been a bad day for multiple reasons. However overall poker results this month have been better, mainly because I actually sat down and played some $5/$10, albeit very few hands, but have still been unable to stop myself from playing more hands lower than higher. Here are the stats:
Pretty funny how whenever I sit in $3/$6, $5/$10 games I continue to run well, play well and have good results, but whenever I play at $1/$2, $0.50/$1 my results blow, my play blows, I run like crap and tilt a lot. I guess I should consider it a good thing, better that I run well at higher stakes than lower stakes when it comes to money, however it kinda hurts my ego to lose to "inferior" players, hence why I tilt so easily when things are not going my way at those stakes. I wish I could just run good at $1/$2 etc so that my mind would be at ease and I could stop playing so many hands there when I should not be. Today I lost $1.3k playing $1/$2, I was tilted before I even started the session which was not a bright move and a few coolers, few beats, few gay board runouts later and I was tilted enough to call down 200bb with 55 in a 3bet pot on 4487, obviously something I would never ever do in a higher stakes game, and just shows me why I lose at these stupid stakes but win at actual decent stakes.
The lack of volume this month is largely due to StarCraft, I've played 200+ games in the last 3 or 4 weeks and created a stream where people can see me playing in First Person when I log on. The link is http://www.LiveStream.com/MidiaN but I don't stream very often and when I'm not streaming it just has some StarCraft2 battlereports on loop, as I needed to loop something in order to get my account verified. I've barely been active at any point in the last 2.5 years and my skills are significantly worse in comparison to other players than they used to be obviously. I've got used to some of the newer build orders a little bit but don't have the feel for the opponent that I once did, and I end up losing a lot of silly games and a lot of games to players who are clearly pretty horrible at the game. This has happened a lot today imparticularly and further bruising my ego today and making me feel like I actually suck at the 2 main things that I'm supposed to be good at, poker and StarCraft.
I've been going out a fair bit this month too, you can find some pictures in my girlfriend's blog at http://www.teamliquid.net/blog/lilsusie . Anyway, I'm off to the gym for now to take out some rage -_-)
so help me review a few hands plz? some of these spots are kinda trivial :/
<3 to anyone who does ~
comments here or directly on the hands is ok
1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/720305 my shove over short stack is retarded right? i mean lots of bad ppl wouldn't raise AA KK QQ JJ AK TT here...i think my shove only folds out AK JJ TT. but even if i min raise i feel like that would pot commit me to a reshove. which leaves a flat call but that seems inviting to the guy behind me.
2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/720304 standard double barrel against an A high flop. But is it worth it with my hand or is it spew? Flush draws (with backdoor straight possibilities), and lower PP will prob fold to double barrel, but i doubt that any Ax would call me down.
3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/720303 (limp calling in the sb is such a bozo move, i wish i had just raised it) 3 card straight flush on the flop, lots of cards to help me check raise turn, almost just decided to check raise turn. guys range is mostly broadway cards and pp? maybe broadway cards will check turn as my perceived range seems to have hit this board (but villian prob does not think about perceived ranges)
4. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/720302 pretty frequent squeezer. he likes to squeeze with AT+ and sometimes PP. I think he tends to call with pp and is fine with setmining. Does my minraise get him off of AT+ (AK?), and lower pp? It seemed to me like the right play. His cbet on flop was automatic which was odd.
5. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/720301 looking back clear reraise to 4.5-6 seems alot better. AJ KJ QJ possibly with flush draws, lots of pair+ flush draws, sets, and possibly 99, J9, T9, and other pair + straight draws. wats best line here to take? bet half the pot and call a shove?
6. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/720300 didn't c-bet flop, some missed spade draws, and straight draws, but he checked back on the flop. not much i can beat here. i don't know if he's an idiot who may vbet worse here. i don't think he has KT/QT/JT, but 99, 88 may have made a play here.
7. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/720299 should i check turn here, since Jx will bet the turn for me, and will also allow lower pp and other garbage to barrel me?
8. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/720298 shove here is slightly confusing, cause the shortstack fish was in the pot. i thought a call would invite the fish to join the fire, but the shove i thought indicated AK or QQ, TT, 99. Should I be raising this? Flatting seems sooooo nitty. Also, we played a few hands, and i think he knows i'm a solid player. so i think my perceived range is slightly wider than it actually is (more AK AQ hands)
any good omaha books? I think i want to learn how to play.
bought speakers for my new computorz. pretty legit. ty pandora.
Might as well update my arm condition...my trainer/physical therapist/rehab guy said "I am worried, but i think it's a sprain, and i reserve the right to change my mind."
I think i want to hurry up and get an MRI, because if it needs surgery, i don't want to go to oklahoma for school, i could live at home, play poker in my closet, keep my job, buy the truck i want (it's an amazing truck and still hasn't been sold...ommmmmg...it's meant to beeeeeee). So i need to know asap as to what my plans are. I either go to NWOSU or i go to UTA and keep my job *sigh* and school starts in... 4 weeks wtf.
It still hurts, i can't really move it above 180* without pain...
I've had a torn labrum in my left shoulder and the pain is very similar.
I don't know man we'll see...not in my hands.
GL everyone
Does anyone else find FTP user interface to be extremely inferior to pokerstars? Why do they need so much room for the background. As a result the cards, and pot, bet ammounts are smaller. Then when you tile table you have to strain your eyes just to see the shit even with 4 color deck and simple cards.
Is there anyway to alter the UI to make it more like pokerstars? =[
I have a friend that lives in Canada who has been playing on stars for a while now and was 16 when he signed up he used all his real info name/address etc just changed the age from 16 to 18 at the time.
Hes gonna turn 18 soon and wants to know if anything will happen if he just emails stars to change the dob also if he can change his account name.
I have HEM, and am having some trouble with the stats showing up at the wrong seats and stuff like that. Are there any good tutorials on how to set up and save a HUD configuration so it's easy to use?
YOU SHALL NOT MASSTABLE The entire downswing is ONE DAY of retarded 6-10 tabling. I just couldn't resist the urge for some stupid reason, its simply deep within me. Yeah, I did run bad, but thats no excuse with so much free money at NL50.
I assrape the limit when I 3-4 table, but when it gets to 4+ tables I am nothing but one of the break even regs I see there all over the place.
My style so far has been pretty much as it always was since NL10 - I adjust to every single villain and you can see me at different tables with stats ranging from 15/14 to 34/30 depending on how good/weak/obvious the enemies are.
Apart from the one JoeIngram syndrome outbreak I always start my tables HU (with anyone who sits alone or sits to me) and start adding tables up to 3-6 depending on how unorthodox villains I am facing.
I simply leave all nitty-reg tables unless they are willing to get into 3bet war/stop nut peddling as its super boring with them otherwise. Hopefully the first good LAG's will be at NL100, they will have much to teach me.
My month overall: NL25 and the supernova race, my inability to play lower stakes as I always end up shoving like 1/3 my hands and my decent NL50 run are there. http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/5103/keke.png
And have some fun 2 hands:

i'm pretty sure i'm either addicted to LP and the net or i have a really small attention span
i cant stop browsing websites while im playing, mainly LP by far. i've even consciously told myself to not do it and minimized the window. Then in about 10 minutes ill find myself in a mindless forum reading / hand viewing trance on LP or 2+2. mostly LP though because i like the interface way more than 2+2s + the constant updated hands. seems like i can never turn down when i see a pockets aces hand for some reason, always gotta see it lol
(reason why i dont X out the window, is because PT3 is fucked up where i have to ctrl alt delete and shut it down manually to get firefox to reopen. Also because the LP hand poster.)
it's definitely screwing with my poker game... i constantly get in and out of the zone. I always lose my concentration, and in theory, its costing me money. also makes for some pretty sick timeouts which equals instant monkey tilt for me. i hate timing out.
played a small session today 3 tabling NL25 6 max
got 3 sick beats within 20 minutes and stopped the session.
AJ on JJ5 board vs 55 all in
KJ on KK9 board vs 99 all in
99 on 923 board vs AA flop all in when river hit A
all > 250BB pots
yeha
well i think i must concentrate on Poker a bit more in the future or i will be broke soon ....

I am in a relationship with the girl i posted in some earlier blogpost.
Our dates worked out really well and she is my girlfriend now for close to 2 weeks
all fine

all fine
We will start doing video analysis soon.
I will upload some to youtube i guess
Last month tried to do another 50nl shot and failed miserably, because of retarded plays. The moment i moved up to 50nl i started playing a whole new game different than mine and thats the biggest mistake anyone can do when moving up.So obviously i lost a lot of buy ins and in the end i decided that starting from 1st of July i will have to :
Life is good. Back at uni after about a months holidays. Loving this semesters subjects so far. Lol only been about 4 hours stuff so far but w/e. Spent about 4 hours today hanging out with this israely chic I met a few weeks ago. She's got a boyfriend which is shit but I guess that's life.
I'm finally starting to get the hang of the rubrik's cube thanks to cubes guide over on tl.net. Did my first sub 4 minute solve today which i'm proud of.
Pokers been a bit mixed the last week or so. I'm down a couple of buyins over the last 3000 hands or so. But that's okay cos I feel like I've learnt a lot from it. My postflop play has improved a ton. Today was fairly solid. I was up about 2 buyins over 200ish hands. Then suckout after suckout kept coming. My favourite being this one.
I had just sat down at the table. I don't usually play pot limit and this was about the 3rd hand I'd been dealt. Just a small question. Should I have called or raised the initial bet on the flop against an unknown opponents? I'm not really sure wat gets the most value in this situation. + Show Spoiler +

Another day where I lose a ton in money and confidence. Hate these days. Taking a break from poker for the next couple days. Super upset right now. Came into vegas up $3300ish on the month and 8 days ago had a 10.7k roll. Now have a 7.2k roll (700 from a withdrawl). With needing to live off of my bankroll next year I'm on very shaky ground right now.http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/0e43701e127eef30f78ad9788e594e44.jpg
