Getting KK v AA in NLHE =[ What sucked was that it was live, we were deep, and I didn't have a rebuy. I took another bad beat because the card room was running a promotion to give away $500 every half hour to the first person to win a hand with pocket aces. I get there at 7:20 and at :32 past the hour I get AA but they were late on calling the rollover =[ Got doubled up by a guy chasing a flush draw though but still..
Think I am going to take a break from live poker. People just want to give their money away but the suckouts are just so sick with the stuff people play. Last time I was there I got pocket in the BB and decided to setmine since it was 4way flop and it is real easy to stack someone if I hit. Flop comes . SB bets $15 and I raise to $30 and both the other plays call. Turn comes , SB checks, I shove, and everyone calls. Guy to my left has . Guy to my right said he had a "gutshot draw" lol. The last guy, who was the only one to have me covered, had and the river comes , which means he committed 25% of his stack with an ace high and a backdoor flush draw in a 4 way pot.. Wow

No more weekend grinding.by BalloonFight, August 23
I swear I'm cursed on the weekends. I win every week, then just get sucked out on vs fish. Or lose 60/40s pre or 70/30s all day. I'm seriously just not going to play a weekend for 2 months minimum now as I just drop my winnings for that week vs retards who shove with things like 77 on AT4 flops then turn a set.

I hope you all enjoyed! I'll post up a Part 5 soon enough. I just can't get enough of this post-rock / ambient sounding bands. So far I've given 39 (10 each time, but put Sigur Ros on it twice) bands and I'm sure there's many more out there! Stay tuned!
First of all, let me preface this by saying that this only happens every now and then. So, I woke up this afternoon and sat down at my laptop and opened up some tables. About 10 minutes into the session, I had to take a major dump. But i was like fuck it, I dont want to sit out so I'll just play for like an hour then take a break. So an hour passes and go to take my monster slam... but i can't go. So I'm like fuck it, I'll go grind some more. Well, about 15 minutes in I have to take a big monster dump again, but this time I'm like fuck it... I'm gonna go shit RIGHT NOW. So I go the bathroom and, well... once again, I cant go. It happened 1 more time later, and I still havn't gone. Really the only time that this ever happens is when I walk into Best Buy. I fucking love that store. I always thought that it happened because I got too excited when I walked into Best Buy, but today it happened while i was trying to grind. Anyway, long story short, the bathroom is now my computer room. My chair is the toilet... ok that was a lie. But has this ever happened to anybody else while they were trying to grind?
i have 3 lines of stats, when i open HEM the stats box is so big that the stats of the player whos sitting next to me blocks one of my holecards, also the stats of the other players blocks how much money their sitting with on the table
is this problem because of the 3 lines worth of stats and is it possible to make the stats box smaller? i wouldnt want it to be so small that i would have hard time seeing it tho
haven't played this badly in a long long time I pretty much butchered every hand I played today but I ran really good and only ended down 2 buyins can't even continue cause I'm currently really pissed off
finally fixing some leaks in my game. Took a shot at 1/2 and started off up like 5 bi then ended up net down 4 buyins so (6m and HU) after some more shots. i dropped down to 50/1 again to fine tune my leaks. I dont think im gonna be playing 1/2 hu again the swings are so huge and i think i may have tilt problems hu. I think one of my biggest weaknesses is discipline and being too results oriented and levelling myself when people jam 3x pot or w/e and i have an overpair on a non 3b pot.
Today I played the longest session of poker that I've played this month ~1k hands for about ~1k profit, which is nice but not the main reason for my happiness. First of all, I was simply happy that I actually played a longer session for once, and that it was at $5/$10. My HEM stats have been set to "This Month" for the entire month and I'm really happy that I've only played $3/$6 and $5/$10 and not pissed around at $.5/$1 or $1/$2 like I did in previous months. Anyway I changed "This Month" to "All Hands" and saw that I've reached a milestone of winnings on PokerStars:
BB/100 = ptbb/100, I didn't like the bb/100 stat since I'm so used to seeing winrates in ptbb/100. In the past months I cared too much about my stats on PTR and played too much at lower stakes trying to make my stats pretty, but I should've never cared simply because these are the only stats that matter. I've already crushed $.5/$1 and $1/$2 in the past (The stats used to look much better than they do now =[ ) and I should only care about playing for the maximum success and profit. This is only Stars and a few FTP hands.
As long as I keep this up it'll be the 2nd 5 digit month in a row, the first time that's happened (If it happens) in quite a while due to inactivity this year and playing too many low stakes in the past months. If I can continue focused, put in a lot of hands and only play at reasonable stakes then I should still be able to salvage a decent year. At the moment I'm probably up about 25k or something for the year which is pitiful considering I made about 10 times that last year. I still have a few months left though and if I play a lot and play well I can still make the kind of profit I was hoping for when this year started. I'm not sure I can force myself to do it alone though, I don't talk poker to people anymore or hang around with poker players and self motivation has always been a problem for me. Perhaps I'll try and go to some live tournaments when I'm back in England in November, maybe visit some poker players too and try to get more involved with the poker community in general. I definitely have to do something, but this is a nice start and this blog post itself may help me, just as a reference point, I can look back on this, see that my lifetime stats are perfectly fine and I don't need to worry about proving myself or looking perfect in every possible database when they clearly lack a lot of hands and information and are thus not even worth bothering about.
I only wanted to write about poker today, I'm happy with how this month has gone in terms of results and in terms of stakes played, I just need to continue this momentum and start playing more. I guess that's all I needed to write for now.
pretty much sums up my day today haha
but oh well everyones got em, hopefully tomorrow gets better gl everyone

And I got my first wage for hard 4 weeks of superhard 7/5 work.
Ship the $2.3k net, not bad for a student imo (This job will count as a full year at the university, and I have full student status with low tax NI code and no council tax (normally about $200/month) - I just have to keep a diary, write a Strategic Appraisal at the end and endure visits from Uni inspectors once per 2 months or so)
Poker goals for today are accomplished, lets go get drunk I say!
