Hey if anyone plays these and wants to discuss them sometime pm me/post here/message me on aim (my ID is Fr8M9rF). I've been playing the 6.25 turbos and am a slight winner over a small sample, but wouldn't be surprised if I was a losing player in the longrun. If you are significantly better than me then I could pay you or give you a % of my profts or something lol.
I still haven't quite figured out the whole Life/Work/Poker balance and I always find myself having my brain out at some point.
The days where my brain doesn't work and I just look down at myself and ask wtf am I doing keep coming back. This month it seriously happened only during one day, but the one day totally fucked up my entire month, right at the beginning :D
Also, my Pimpchair didn't arrive yet
What to do? Well nothing is changing really. I have 11 months to get to NL200. I feel like my progress has stalled massively, and I hardly learn by cruising through NL10 and NL25 apart from self discipline. I decided to take focus away from playing back to the basics and maths of poker, I started watching a vid or reading an article, while having 3-4 tables open to avoid boredom and apply the concepts straight away.
I expect that it will take until 2010 before I get back to the pre-job stage where I was beating NL50 at 5+bb/100 and was taking shots at NL100.
As for my life update, my job is still fun, but as time passes I find myself having my weekly plan fuller and fuller. I even got to the stage that I plan my 35 hour week and I get 60 hours of work that has to be done.
With this regime I find it hard to focus on the main reason why I am at the job - to learn, see the big picture and apply my University learning to the working environment.
Its not easy to finish a hard 9hr day where you made 6 different tasks for various people/reporting and then think about it and write it down to a diary. What I usually want to do is go home, get drunk/watch tv/spew some money in pokerz/do some sexy time.
What I want to introduce is to roughly breakdown and plan not only my time at the job, but also my free time as it is becoming very scarce, especially when happens something like today - I woke up at 1pm after 14 hours of sleep.
September almost over... Been a while...by SpeedyJack, September 26
It's been a while since I've posted an update. After breaking even at NL50 for the better part of 2 months I've finally started to see some really serious improvement (aka heater), and I feel like I'm crushing the games pretty hard. I still make mistakes, but they are pretty few and far between now, especially compared to before. Unfortunately my coach who has been helping me all this time has to deal with RL issues so we had to end our deal. I feel I've learned a lot though, and the terms for early closure to the deal were definitely favorable for the student, so I didn't take too much of a hit.
Once my bankroll hits 30 buyins I'm going to start playing NL100, hopefully I can make a quick transition. I'd like to withdraw some money at some point while I'm playing NL100, probably before Christmas time, it would be my first realized gains from poker. I tend to look to far into the future with things, but long term my goal is to be at NL200 by next summer.
I've been looking forward to the poker club edzwoo started here at school for a while, I guess the first meeting is coming up next week. I'm going to be at practice right before it starts so I'll probably come in sweaty and covered in grass, but that's poker.
In the FML tilt department some stupid bitch crashed into me while we were on our bikes at an intersection. Here's a picture + Show Spoiler +
I have no idea where the fucking cunt was going, but she ruined my back tire so I'm gonna have to get a new one shipped out one of these days. Luckily only she got thrown off her bicycle, so there was some justice.
My nonshowdown is really nasty since I've been 6 tabling and I'm trying to figure out exactly what is changing in a mere 2 table difference, and I'm hoping I'm still playing a 2ptbb or better winning style while 6tabling. I really just want to grind out some hands over the next week so I can feel good about my roll and move to nl200 fulltime w/o having to look back (unless it turns out I suck ofc )
My goal is 4k hands/day for the next 5 days but I cut today short so that I could make sure to end on a highnote.. and most of the deepstacked fish were gone anyway.. I still feel bad about quitting tho.. there was this one sick fish 200+bb deep on 2 of my tables.. fuck lol
So baseball is going great, i hit 90 mph last thursday. I think its looking like i'll be a starter, so i couldn't be happier. In other news, i got tickets to the Dallas Cowboys first ever game in their new $1.1 billion stadium. (pics in the spoiler, it was fucking awesome) The tickets were "party plaza", and it was fucking sweet. I took a girl i met to the game, we had a great time.
Just thought i'd update ya'll!!! + Show Spoiler +
anyone still in vegas?by Gsr_01_integ, September 25
Anyone still in Vegas? Im coming out for the weekend with my cuz for something to do and to hang out with him cause he has a school reunion out there and wanted to have at least someone to hang out with him if it was a total flop. Looking to meet up with a couple cool LPer if any still there and hang out smoke a couple and chill and maybe go out to the bar for some partying. Ill be staying in the Flamingo and gettin there tomorrow at around 11 checkin into the hotel. PM me with phone number if u wanna meet up or leave a comment or something
My friends around here probably noticed that I haven't blogged in a long time. Considering that I was one of the most active bloggers, it is kind of weird that I've gotten so scarce on LP. But it's all for good reasons. I've basically been getting my life together. For a while I was overworked at my normally part time job for a nonprofit as I was finishing up a brand new website that I'd built for them with a buddy of mine. Then I took a break and went to vegas for the WSOP and got into a big poker mode for a while. I started coaching and also grinding a lot and had some good results after vegas. Coached a bunch of people but the crowd thinned out to 2 guys that I really enjoyed working with. I kept coaching them and at the same time started having another big downswing. Not so much in terms of losing lots of money, just a lot of breaking even. I ended my coaching with sakisaki as he went off to medical school (thanks for everything Anders, I'd suck at poker if it wasn't for your help) but it was a nice parting as we'd become good friends and I feel like he did an amazing job as a coach and couldn't ask for more.
So I continued coaching and started playing poker less and less as I got back into working on this website for my job. And now I'm in another transition. I've been planning a trip to India with my lady for a while now and we've set the departure for mid january. That means between now and then I need to save up as much money as I possibly can and also finish all the work I want to do on this website and then train everyone on how to use it and maintain it once I'm gone. December is pretty much filled up with holiday travel to see family so I've got 2 months to do those 2 things. I realized that while I've been covering all my expenses and saving a little money, at the rate I'm currently saving I won't have enough to do this trip properly. So I'm refocusing myself to play even more poker and do less coaching, and to spend less and less time at my part time job.
I dunno if I'm gonna keep blogging a lot but I have a feeling I'm gonna get back into it, so keep an eye out for more updates =) I do miss all you weird mofos and I miss poker, so I'm happy to be refocusing on this part of my life again!

The over cards spooked me on the flop, but I probably could've gone from the Gus Hansen school and bet higher preflop. I pulled a semi-bluff when the flush draw came out, but I was willing to give up 30 cents to see if he'd re-raise.
OK, so I sat down on table, guy on my left open-shove like 6-7 of 12 hands. I'm on big blind, 4folds, guy shove, I have AcKs. Little me says "Oh god yes yes yessss", call. He shows As3h.
flop comes 378ss. omg.
Some hands later. 2 guys logged out - guy on my left stacked one with KTs on AA (flop Kxx, and rivered K), second one had 44 (vs guys 55).
Guy open-shove to me again, I with my AJ had edge on him. (Range that i give him here is kind too tight for him, because he shoved 93 one too, and there were shoves that everybody folded)
equity
Hand 0: 59.369% { AJo }
Hand 1: 40.631% { 22+, A2s+, K2s+, A2o+, K2o+, Q7o, JTo }
I showed AJ he 99, no J, no A.
Last couple of sessions (except that one I brag about last post) is just armageddon for my br. If I hit something villain have better (set over set for most of the time) or I dont get any action, but for most of the time I dont hit anything :/ I know that AK is only connector pf, but fck, nearly 20times when I got that no A nor K on board :/ Didn't won with pocket pairs like for eternity :/
That is sooooo frustrating.
When I started this blog it was my milestone from ~$20 to $200. Had $250 some time ago. I didn't change my game, not played after booze nor drugs. Not playing when tilted or ill (except play money but it doesn't cout). My game is crappy - I know - that's why I play nl2-5-10 and not nl2k-5k-10k, but for the stakes that I play it was profitable.
Is this a swing? Or is it my lame game made that I lost half of my roll. Or both?
I'm learning from pretty good players every single time I go to see them. I'm watching videos. I'm reading LP every day. And playing nearly every time I have free time.
So I'm improving, right? RIGHT?
If it is just a normal swing (i never had one ever) then omg, poker is horrible.
If it go even more like that, I will have to move down again to nl2 :/ and I don't want that :/ I am capable of doing that, for me it's no shame to play nl2, but if I can hold up nl5 I will try.
This whole thing is frustrating me so much, that I don't know if I'm sane now at the moment.
But it will pass, I hope.
Oh, and (maybe it's lame) I hoped that I could try "Avatars lottery" on LP but on "Poker Bonuses" section it disappeared.
Besides poker, today is my final exam :/ Maybe it will go better than poker. I hope.
USA->EPT Warsaw? Make free $ ;oby Defrag, September 25
If you are coming from USA to EPT Warsaw ( 20th October ) then I have an offer for you! Make 200-300$ without risk! ;o
Im looking for someone who can invest exactly $2050 and have a credit card that has his billing adress registered to his USA adress, due to security reasons:
We ship all orders to the billing address on the credit card. We will honor your request to ship to another address. In order to ship to an alternate address, you need to contact your issuing bank, and have then add the shipping address as your alternate address. This is to protect the cardholder of unauthorized credit card transactions.
I am looking for someone who can buy a watch from a reputable e-seller for me and bring it to EPT Warsaw, where I will pick it up and pay in either hard cash ( euro, $, pln for the tournament, ur pick ) or make a PokerStars transfer when picking it up.
Basically, if u are coming to Poland for EPT Warsaw, u can get a free 200-300$ ( taxes dependant ), risk free.
If you are worried about any risk, I can get ultimate vouchers from this site, who simply guarantee 100% no risk.
Before questions start:
Im doing this because same watch that costs $2k in USA costs $4,3k in Poland.
Yes, I cross-posted this at 2p2 as well, since they have some players that regularly come to EPT's.
If I dont find anyone, then I will just spend more money, but I would prefer to save some cash and let somebody earn some as well.
My sennheiser 570's headphone cord has gotten old and brittle I guess, and I think it crapped out. It only plays out of the left earphone now lol. I went to buy a new headphone cord and went to two different shops before I realized its a proprietary cord with 2 different sized ends, and I need to order it from the website, haha.
I visited best buy in the process and finally decided to get a replacement for my trusty old..old.. very fucking old microsoft intellimouse 3.0. Its left click was crapping out for the past year and a half and it just needed to be replaced. I got a logitech mx 518 which is apparently the gold standard of gaming mice lately. Its working nicely so far.
I downloaded tableninja today and holy FUCK. Its awesome and probably saved me 1000 mouse clicks or other button presses today. Which is awesome. I will definitely be buying it as soon as the FTP version is no longer free. Just 4 or 6 tabling it is still 100% worth it for the health of my hands/wrists plus it is rather aggressive with your tables so it kind of forces me to pay attention the whole time I'm grinding instead of minimizing when I start getting bored rofl.
Playing nl100 and feeling like I have a solid edge + being newly armed with TABLE NINJORZ, I played 6 tables today. It went fairly well, and I think I will sustain 6tables at nl100 for the next (x) number of sessions to see if I can solidly 6table nl100 yet.
Kind of thinking I should spend a month grinding nl100 and try to win like 5k with RB. Withdraw 2k at the end of Oct. for the next 3months living expenses and then move to nl200 full time without having to worry about moving down because of 5 buyins.. Not really sure if this is a better idea than taking shots every weekend or not though. I'm realllllly bad at *not* taking shots though so I think the nl200 every weekend until I'm fulltime there is what will happen. Any thoughts? I'm really confident I am a winner at nl200 now, just can't afford to bust my roll.. and need a little money to live off.
