The over cards spooked me on the flop, but I probably could've gone from the Gus Hansen school and bet higher preflop. I pulled a semi-bluff when the flush draw came out, but I was willing to give up 30 cents to see if he'd re-raise.

Unfortunately you can't say you accidentally wrote something worthless. OP asking for help.

Sicks Macks as usual gave help <- listen to Sicks Macks OP. Go to Poker Strategy link at the top of the page and check out the Jelle stuff is probably good.

Raise more pre. Flop check OK. Turn bet more, river definitely bet more.

You're not semi-bluffing on the turn, you're just full on bluffing. But if you think someone might be drawing, then it's good to bet to tax them for their draw.

And dont ever minraise preflop, nobody is ever going to fold and you do yourself more harm be allowing too many hands in that can outdraw your made hands. You also dont make much money when you hit because the pot is too small.

bye now

buy in for full, always raise 4xbb+1bb for each limper in front of you.

Thanks for the advice guys. At the time I was afraid raising more than I did would scare him off since he was a relatively tight player, but I probably could have extracted more from my hand.
