I'm +4k as of 3pm on Tuesday. 8k more to go, plenty of time to do it in. I'm happy with everything so far, except a few bad calls I made, but otherwise I think I'm playing pretty well.

| | Good old grind.... by TalentedTom, August 08
Again I was playing 5/10 today 8 tabling full ring. Got off to a mediocre start but then made the money back and some. For whatever reason I was not winning any coinflips today, I got a few people to fold with aggresive pushes but if they called I almost always lost which sucks :/ I played preety decent today, the hands I lost most of them preety much played themselves, and I don't see anything wrong with the way I played most of them.
After about 1300 hands or so playing 5/10 I was stuck 4 buy ins and was a little fed up that I have not yet booked a winning session (only 2 attemps not really big sample size). But I did realize full ring is a grind, the hands/hour is lower and I sometimes it's frustrating when you'r sourrounded by smallstacks or just lunatics and are forced to play ABC poker.
So from now on I am going to make a small change of plans. Rather than grind out 5/10 full ring I will play 6-handed and see where that goes. Since The weakest part of my game at the moment is heads up and maybe 3 handed. So I will go to 2/4NL and 3/6NL for a little while to fix these problems. It will be an easy learning process because I have 200+ buy ins for these stakes so rather than think about the money I will just focus on the poker which is always good.
Hands from today:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58673 *Standard. Really marginal push by him... the only hand he beats is mine but he can't know that. Can't blame him however.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58676
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58679
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58683
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58686
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58692
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58696
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58700 *Weird where do I lose money That flush draw cracking my set was frustrating, Im happy that people are making such big mistakes but it sucks to lose the pots :/
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58705 *Blind vs blind... I have a really aggresive image, same guy who pushed with 87 pair + straight draw, I insta-called this this is really unfortuante. I suspect had the flop come Q high or T high he would also play a big pot with me. But rather than check raise the turn, he would check/call every street.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58725 *Again cant win money if you don't win races.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58727 *Standard 2 outer.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58794 *So here I will start playing 6-max.
It's amazing how I lose money playing such donks, but when you are losing 6:5 races and 3:1 races there's just nothing you can do but watch. So 6-max seems really good, you get about 40-50% more hands per hour and player quality is still very weak. We will see where this goes.

| | 5/10 NL Time. by TalentedTom, August 07
I have a comfortable BR for 5/10, I took a weekend off to clear my mind and today I decided to take a stab at it. Started off absolutley attrociously, I think I was trying to do too much and ontop of that I lost a few hands that I probably should have been able to get away from, set vs set, and overpair vs set + a few other stuff.
Took me about 1k hands to settle down (at this point I was down 5 buy ins) and I just said, "wtf and started to play care free (my regular style)" Possitive results followed, made about 4-5 buy ins after this (help with a decent run of cards) and finished the day -1.2k or so which is a result I'm proud of. +3-4k from my low point.
I should be able to win in this level at a decent rate. You can feel the regulars are slightly better in every aspect, the most noticable one is that they are very aggresive. I will make the proper adjustments and we will see where this goes.
Hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58353 *I think I was trying to do too much here, I've seent his guy play higher stakes so I figured I could take him off any hand that is not quads, he must have had it I guess. He claimed to have pocket tens, but im 90% sure he did not.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58356 *I actually felt he had an ace + gutshot hand or flush + gutshot , so I figured he had either 2 pair or the gutshot or missed flush, I probably should have folded though... This is probably a mistake on my part.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58360 *This is just plain retarded on his part. Did he call to hit a set? Or was he going on any low flop... who the hell knows.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58361 *I can't explain this one I suppose I got lucky the 8 came and the board didn't pair.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58367 *I folded the straight flush :/
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58373 *Funny how a lot of weird action always occurs blind vs blind
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58390 *Probably should have been able to get away here.... This was an impulsive call. It is however a 1 outer, because I only go broke if the ace falls, and if it was the ace of spades I would fold. Only the ace of diamonds I give action.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58393 *Retarded check raise, he has absolutley no fold equity.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58405 *This is such an obvious set now that I look at it. I was in the "he's bluffing me" mode. New stakes will do this to you, or at least me. On 3/6 NL this is an easy laydown.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58406 *Again I felt he had a set because he overbet the flop and now all of a sudden he wants to go all in, feels like a donk with a set. Again an easy fold but I could not get away...
These bad calls quickly add up you can see.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58411 *Played this hand perfect, had I frontbet river I think he may have just smoothcalled.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58413 *Again he limps in and calls $50 with ATs and flops the nuts... Had the jack not paired up I could get away from this, but with that pairing up I can now beat top 2 pair. He actually paused for a long time before calling, I was almost sure I had him.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58423 *Frontbet usually means really strong, I have to call here I didn't have a read, I just called because this is a weird line for a set and I can beat so many hands.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/58428 *Standard open shove
It's obvious I did not bring it in the first few thousand hands, had I been playng my standard game all along this could have easily been +2-3 buy in day. But that's fine I will have to get used to the new people + styles. This should not be a problem, I will continue to play these stakes and things will pick up.

| | Today by TalentedTom, August 04
Medium length session - I will save myself for the weekend games (which are extremley soft, you can make 5 weekdays worth of money in these two days)
1350 hands +$2400 (which is preety good considering I missed some all in semi-bluff draws this number could easily have been 4-5k)
Today I feel I played really well, made a lot of really good bluffs in spots where there clearly was strong fold equity. Funny thing first orbit of the day I get KK and a shortstack goes all in for $150 obviously this is an insta call - But what does he have? Of course AA Unlike the last 13 KK v AA's I had i actually hit a set this time and sucked out! I knew this was a good sigh, my luck is now changed.
Also on another note I probably did not post as many hands from my other sessions because I had a really weird run of cards and I lost the desire to post, but things have changed.
Hands from today:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/57503 *Attrocious play by him.... why this donkey is even playing poker is beyond me. Too many people have this mentallity "He will only call a reraise with a better hand, what's the point" That's fine... more money for me. Money saved is money earned.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/57515 *Standard it's a shame I missed.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/57540 *Again, I felt I probably should have open shoved the turn, I still like my line because it's a really tough spot for him to call here, he made the correct call (I don't know how) Kudos to GTP.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/57546 *Radio msg'd me and said "omfg I folded AA" I didn't feel he had a heart so I decided to take this pot away from him.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/57516 *Standard
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/57548 *The J6 push is really bizzare... But I had correct pot odds too call, in fact I'm getting 3:1 on a coinflip, so ez call.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/57557 *Wtf is he thinking with this flop call, I figured if he called on the flop with a gutshot it's his.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/57561 *Tough spot for him, since it's such a drawheavy board there's a lot of hands I can have which he beats. I thought he had the draw I didn't think he could have top pair here.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/57566 *Somewhat cold-decked hand, I didn't want to 3-bet the flop perhaps I should have? I'm not sure here.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/57578 *Icing on the cake This is why my good hands get paid off.
Thoughts:
My bankroll is really getting nice now, I'm more than sufficient for 5/10 NL I will probably play there within this week. I just wanna win my first 2-3 sessions so I feel like I'll be freerolling. If I lose my first 2-3 sessions it gets somewhat discouraging, but this time around I won't stop.

| | Last three days by TalentedTom, August 03
Ok so I have not posted here in a while because I've been preety buisy the last few days and have not found the time do update this. I have not really played much in the last three days, yesturday I played 5-5NL at Casino Niagara (this is the highest they offered) and two days before that I put in about ~1500 hands/day which is ok but nothing special. So in the last three days I made $2500 playing 3/6 NL and I lost two buy ins at the casino which I will explain later on.
I've never been to a Casino before because I never really wanted to go and waste money playing slots, blackjack, or any other stupid -EV game so I just stayed out of there. Since they opened poker I still have not been looking forward to casino games but I figured I might as well try it eventually. When I was there the first thing I realized is that the player quality is absolutley attrocious, there were a few standard tight players (who were so predictable it was funny to watch) and a few loose cannons who seemed to loose at least 1-2 buy ins/hour. Given the number of hands/hour we were playing this is a really awfull rate of losing money. So I figured I would play loose against the predittable tights and tight against the donks. This strategy worked out very well, I did a ton of bluffing and I never got caught once which is really rare. Unfortuatley I never won a single showdown all night (no joke) If the hand ever reached the river I was always out-drawn.
Worst hand of the evening was I raise $25 UTG with 8d9d (my stack is $700) donk calls ($200 stack) and tight calls ($1300 stack) flop is 7dTd3s. Since I'm not in position and I figured a standard con't bet had little fold equity I decided to check and perhaps reraise a weak bet. So donk bets $35, tight min reraises him to $70 I go all in (just because tight would not mini reraise with a monster here on such a draw heavy board, this is something I picked up during the evening). He thinks for like 30 sec and calls showing 5d6d a lower flush + gutshot straight. So I have him dominated but the turn card comes 4h river is meaningless and I gotta reload :/
Actually one of the biggest problems with this game was that it was capped, I had to sit down with only $500 and if I lost a few pots I would find myself sitting with a $400 stack which was stupid. Plus the table was 10 handed which was really slow paced. But they charged $6 rake every 30 min which was ridiciously high given the number of hands we get in. These games are extremley soft and can be crushed but I can probably make more money playing online, so I'll probably do that Unless they fix up the casino games and get a uncapped game. I think if you'r main goal is just to make money as fast as possible 8-12 tabling online is the optimal way to go about it.
As for Pokerstarss the last few days, I've been running about average. Meaning I'm getting about $1 every hand I play. I also find myself posting a lot less hands than before, I think rather than just posting every pot that comes I will only post interesting hands that come up.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55493 *This guy raises every single pot, I just felt
he had to bet to win so I called :/ After this call check_kills told me that's the worst call he has seen in over 3 months lol
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55494 *I figured out his betting patterns a few hands after this one, everytime he goes all in he has either a strong draw or a hand with extremley good showdown value, had I known this earlier I would not have called.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55495
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55882 *Standard - If he has a set he stacks me here every time
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55885 *Most people don't 3-bet preflop with AA-QQ and for the most part it's the correct play, this is just a very tough spot for him. I think he thought I had either QQ or AA
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55896
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55904 *I had almost an exact same hand last week like this, same flop except when you'r running bad they showdown AA when your running average-good you win
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55906 *This is a really weird hand, if he has an ace or 6 he has to call. I don't understand why he would bluff in this spot.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55917 *Probably the worst call I've made in a long time. IntrepidFox is not capable of bluffing in this spot I was just too stubborn at the time to realize that. I actually paused for a moment before betting I initially thought I would check it down and just see what he called me with for information, but I got greedy and value bet :/
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/56205 *This is exactly how not to play a set. Not only is this a bad way to play a set, why is he limping in with JJ wtf.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/56206 *Apparently my image is really loose because I honestly thought he would not do this without a set it's incredible he pushed with a hand like AQ I was really shocked. This guy is one of the very tight players on 3/6
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/56207 *I think I played the flop and turn almost perfect. I suspect I should have made a slightly larger river bet. Either way I got very good value here (especially considering it's an unraised pot) but I think it could have been a little larger.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/56208 *Again wow, I can't beleive people are pushing with such garbage
Thoughts:
I used to play my overpairs and TPTK for medium-value. But I'm noticing recently people are willing to play big pots with me with very weak holdings even stuff like medium pairs. So I think I will increase my aggresion with very strong one pair hands and see where that goes. I used to almost never play TPTK for stacks but now I realize against me people will play very big pots with weak kickers so I will try and find a way to really exploit this.

| | Really weird... by TalentedTom, July 30
~1450 hands +$2000
For whatever reason that I am unable to explain maybe it was always like this but I did not notice or something, but there seems to be a unusually large amount of weird action flops/hands. Over the past few days my KK just seems to be running into AA like it's standard, it seems at least once every 600 hands or so I get a KK v AA. On top of that there seems to be an unusual large amount of action rigged flops that play themselves eg. I raise from UTG+1 after UTG limps with AKs 65bb stack calls from MP and UTG calls with 80bb stack or so. Flop comes A22 (Jin! right?) Well it seems MP has AA and I just pay him, the one outer hits (I would pay him off on a K22 flop as well obviously but when you hit the A with AK that's preety much an absolute jin hand, especially on a A22 flop)
The good thing today was that I started off by winning my first two all in pots, so right from the get go I was feeling good and was easily able to overcome the adversity that came in the middle.
Something interesting, I am playing differntly now than I was four days ago, my style four days ago is was different than the style i played ten days ago etc... for whatever reason I am playing differentley all the time (I hope this is a good thing) this is something I am begining to notice now. I remember just 4-5 weeks ago and all the time prior to that I would log on and I would preety know what I was gonna go before I even had to do it. By this I mean my play was preety formulaic with a few pinches of bluff, but now I find myself just playing every single hand differntly in every single situation, I think this is a good change. It was definatley a long time coming.
So the new plan is within this week or at latest next week to move to 5/10 NL full time and grind out another 100-200k at those stakes (should not take longer than 2 or 3 months I hope)
Memorable hands from today's session:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55008 *He probably should have gone all in on the flop... kind of stupid with one card to come.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55009 *Standard play by both people. I bet my draws just like my made hands so can't fault him for calling.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55012 *Rigged
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55013 *Very next hand, this is the definition of cold deck. I open shove because I have the image of a tilting player (which of course is not the case) and I suspect people may call with 99+ or AK
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55026 *Same table, this table seemed to have a cold deck.. absolutley unreal stuff going on here
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55027 *Again same table, back to back AA. My AA runs into KK right after my KK runs into AA to balance it out... This is really an extremley weird run of cards
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55015 *Eh... really hard to get away from AA on a king high flop, so many hands I beat. Not sure what I could have done differentley here thats +EV long term, three bet scares away weaker hands. I guess he played his hand preety well.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55029 *lol that's just about the worst possible way he could have played his hand. Obviously his plan was probably to check raise the turn, funny how donks always think check raise is the best play.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/55033 *Standard
Mathematically in a full ring game the odds of KK running into AA is 25:1. Given that you get KK once every 210 hands, my KK should run into AA once every 5250 hands... which is like 2-3 times a week. It seems this week it's been happening about once every 800 hands or so varience is a beautiful thing. The funny part is that my KK lost every single time, I never once sucked out, I should win about 20% of the time but I'm 0 for 11 or so

| | quick update by straate, July 30
I'm on vacation right now in Boston. I'll actually be on vacation for about half of next month. I just wanted to establish some goals, however, for August. I want to make 15-25k in the 10-15 days I have to play. Hopefully then my BR will be 40-50k range then.
Also, a long term goal of mine will be to get over the 100k mark by December 1st.
I actually think the first goal is going to be harder than the latter. I figure this because if I have 50k on September 1st, I will have 3 months of 'college-hindered' poker. So lets say ~20k/month. Hopefully I'll be 3/6 and 5/10 by this time, so it would really only be about a buyin/day.
Anyways, these are my new goals :D

| | Does not get worse than this. by TalentedTom, July 27
Well yesturday I did a monster marathon 4800 hands in one day by far the most I have ever done in my life. Felt good to be able to play so many and still play solid poker untill the very end. Things were very up and down the first few hands, lost $3k won $3k lost $1500, won $1200 etc... and then came the big downswing where I was stuck $4800 at one point or something near that number. I was not supposed to win today, my KK kept running into either AA or sets, my AA never once won a big showdown only lost money, my QQ ran into either AK or KK-AA etc... I even lost races QQ v AK and vise-versa against the medium stacks. Finished the day +$2400 from my low point which is great considering I was able grind back after playing so many hands I was still able to play a very solid game.
I also just did a 1600 hand session today so I will include that here. Today I made some absolutley sick laydowns and great plays, it's incredible that I'm even making money today considering the setups that are coming my way. The good thing about losing a lot of money is that it really makes you a stronger player. I am now making some absolutley insane laydowns which in the past I feel I should have made but ended up not doing so. Also I have one 2/4NL hand, that's only because there were only six 3/6 NL tables avaliable so it was either i play some 5/10 or 2/4, because I am not running optimally I decided to play 2/4 NL. If I was running average or better, I would definatley play 5/10.
I also made the descion that I will begin playing 5/10 next month unless this cold-deck run continues for a very long stretch, which I assume it will not. But nothing is for certain, I rememebr the first week of may I lost 20 buy ins at 2/4, losing day every day of the week. I made it back almost immiediatley but I feel also now that I am a much stronger player and I will overcome this much more easily than I did in the past. I actually felt really bad after that bad run in May, because up to that point I was winning about 29 of 30 sessions if not more.
Also, even though I lost or folded (correctly) almost every single big hand today I finished +$1100 which IMO is a great accomplishment, still averaging $1/hand even though my AA/KK are losing every single showdown. When this bs clears I will destoroy 5/10 no more medium sized sessions when I'm winning so I can assure the win, there will be no more mercy I won't stop untill the job is done.
Well, there are a ton of hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/hand/id/1/user/492 *6 handed KK v AA is 45:1 against happening, of course that does not matter.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53776 *This is before I was running bad, still early. If this happened today I would fold.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53781
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53782 *Again I should have been able to get away from this, but Epipen has been putting a lot of moves on me I felt this hand had decent showdown value. But if this happened today I would prob pitch it.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53785 *Few hands later this is what I mean.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53787 *I thought he had AK and if he did he will always fold to a reraise.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53797 *This was about 2 orbits later, I suppose given the history I should have called, but I do not feel comfortable playing overpairs on these low drawless boards. I gotta work on this part of my game,. this is an attrocious fold.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53813
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53815 *I almost never value bet here because I can't call a check-raise but this guy was awfull.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53816 Not sure if I should have pushed this flop, there are a lot of cards that can come that will kill my action. But arguments can be made for either action.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53817 *This is insane, he chases and hits a 4 outer on a 2 pair board. This guy is loosening up against me which is good
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53818 *Unreal hit, I'm like 99:1 favorate on the flop, but apparently that does not matter. Latey I've been loosing to a lot of these runner runner full houses.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53825 *Again... He actually paused on the river for like 30 sec. I bet the river because he was so poor and I actualy put him on a very weak ace I thought when he was taking so long I had him...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53829 *If the queen did not pair I would pitch this, really strange play.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53830 *Standard AQ play.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53832 *Again...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53835
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53840 *They allow me to make a cheap hand which I can overbet for value, but the cards do not fall my way.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53845 I knew he did not have the jack because he did not 3 bet me obviously no one calls a rearise with a 2 or 3 and he would not value bet any pocket pair on the river because hes scared thats why he falt calls the turn. River had to be a bluff.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53858 *Again missed multi-draw with very high implied pot odds.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53869 *He said he had AA Either way I can't call
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53871 *This hand I feel I played perfect, I think he would have folded to a large flop or turn bet, I knew I was way ahead and felt he may be afraid to call a large bet so I decided to extract chips in medium sized components. This is how I would play in lower stakes because the players are not smart enough to see through my plan they just look at the size of the bets.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53878 *He had quad kings. Biggest laydown I've made in my life I beleive, but it's the correct one. A ton of thought went into this, lucky I had ~90 sec timebank I used 100% of it up and decided fold is optimal play. A lot of reasoning I don't feel like writing 2-3 pharagraphs.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53900 *This play is so attrocious it's mind boggling...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53909 *I only called turn because I thought it's conceivable he had a straight draw but he never three barrel bluffs so I had to pitch it. He said he had pocket tens.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53922 *Another lost race.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53924 *I didn't think he had the queen, obvious mis-read but his preflop call is absolutley attrocious. I suspect ooooooooooh had AK or TT-99.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53926 Same guy who called with KQ, he's a terrible player. I would have called any river bet he made. I was almost 85% sure he was bluffing with air. I think had the ten not paired up he would have pushed the river, I think he thought I had the ten and I would not lay trips.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53927 *Again..
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53932
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53938 * This is an extremley close call, I thought he may have a lower set and did not want to see a fourth spade come. He played his hand perfectly kudos to him.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53961 *Tough spot, It's hard to fold here because there's so many hands I can beat, if the 9 came as opposed to the 2 outer-ace I would have won a very healthy pot here.
Today:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/54232 *lol
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/54240 *Ok so from now on I will play my multi-draws a little stronger, he caught a 3 outer which sucks... I think he would have made a large turn bet if not all in weather or not he missed anyway. I don't know if I played this so terrible because I was allowing him to make a large mistake by staying in the pot betting large but I suppose whenever you can win a uncontested pot you should take it.
I suspect my largest mistake here (something which I changed just now) is not betting large enough on the flop, had I bet $50+ I win this pot uncontested (I think)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/54244 *Let the donk bluff off his stack. Calling the turn is a big sigh of weakness so I figured he will fire again.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/54262
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/54307 *They flop straights/sets all day
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/54316 *He donked this hand hard, theres no need to bet out like this it's not like I have JJ and it's a close race, hes miles ahead of any hand I reraise with
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/54321 *More KK v AA please. I was going to push on any non A or Q flop, I guess I was fortunate here. This guy was a complete donkey it's unreal. 50% vpip 20% PFR folding against this kind of player is incredible.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/54338 *I actually put him on exactly JT and I thought he sucked out the river, I was 80% sure he didnt have a pair. This guy used to be very tight, now hes loosening up but he is in over his head in my opinion. with 67 this is an attrocious call on the turn.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/54350 *Bet bet bet
Thoughts:
Increase size of bets. My general style is to throw in several medium sized bets I suspect this is good in most cases. I think I will have to learn to change gears and mix up my betting structure more.

| | Today by TalentedTom, July 25
Today I played two sessions each ~800 hands or so, session one I finished +$1900 session two finished +$1700. Ran preety solid, when my good hands hold up things generally run very smoothly. I don't think I took any significant bad beats today, lost a few races against shortstacks, and made one mis-read with TT vs 40bb stack who had AA but that's fine. I played some really great poker today, made some good reads, and extracted very good value from my hands.
Hand history:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53484
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53430 *I thought he had bottom set, or flush draw either way ez call.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53418 *I don't know what thsi guy is thinking... my raise is a little fishy I guess he mis-read me.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53437
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53497 *I suppose I got lucky today that my sets held up against the flush draws, this balances out all the other times I lost I guess.
Thoughts:
Had a really solid day. I'm becoming very comfortable playing this style and will probably move up stakes soon, perhaps next month. I have yet to experience a really severe downswing where I finish the day -10 buy ins I suspect eventually I'll have one of these days. Worst downswing I've had was first week of May -21 buy in swing but made it back the following week. No more speculation though Time will tell.

Also checked out my winrate since the last time I posted it. So I filtered out the old results and this is my stats for the last two weeks or so. One thing I've changed is that I've tightened up my play. I'm only playing 25-30% of hands now, I feel I have more control that way and as a resulst I have more consistant results. I think it's more optimal for the current stakes I am playing.

| | Last two sessions by TalentedTom, July 24
Played ~3k hands up about 4k back to the way it used to be. Still taking a few ridicilous beats but everything is under control now. One thing I am beginning to notice is that I'm doing very well in the 6-max tables, even with the bad beats I take in them I just seem to make a ton of money there. Perhaps the loose-aggresive strategy is more profitable in these (which makes sence). I notice some people are just massive donks and will play massive pots with complete trash so I'm calming down on a bluffing, not to the degree where I become predictable.
On another note - there's this guy who I used to play 1/2NL with - VaeSolis who seems to be putting in 10h+ daily and he's completley killing the stakes. His play is nothing special he just has the determination to play through amazinly long stretches, this guy will definatley go very far, very fast.
My hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/52248 * For some reason my AA keeps running into AA, this is the 4rth time this week... very weird.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/52291 *You can notice a trend I lost a lot of pots when I'm a massive favorate
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/52251
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/52287 *Actually this is a really easy call because this player is loose aggresive - he obviously acts like he likes his hand post-flop but only hand he can have that likes this flop is AK, KQ, KJ, KT, but he raises all these hands preflop, as well as pocket tens. So in my mind - as long as he does not have pocket 4's I'm going to win this pot. I also don't think he would reraise me with a weak-king because he would be scared. I could of course be completley wrong and donk off money but it didn't happen that way.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/52267
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53095
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/52218 *Check on the flop gave his hand away completley. Also I didn't think this short-stack would reraise me with a big pocket pair preflop because he would want to extract maximum value. I had a weird feeling even preflop that he had AK.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53117
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53161
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53168
I'm also trying to qualify for that 2.5million dollar freeroll here is how I am currently doing:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53180
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/53166 *If I win this hand I would have enough chips to sail to the next round... these tourney players are attrocious. It's really frustrating going through a feird of 10, 000 and finishing 200th and getting nothing because of a retarded beat.
I should eventually win one of these, the player quality is absolutley terrible.

| | Very long session today by TalentedTom, July 22
~3200 hands today played a lot of bs... you know your running bad when you'r KK runs into AA. I had a feeling he had AA because these horrid beats seem to come in bunches. I had just lost set vs set KK v AJ someone called down my massive all in bluff and now I raise preflop with KK I get reraised and warning bells go off but I chose not to listen to them
Today's session was preety horrid I'm only down ~$600 which is very little when you take into consideration the fact I was not playing too optimally and I was losing almost every single hand + making really terrible calls... Preety much nothing went right today it was one of them days
I'll post some HH's here later on when I get some time it's a little late now.
**Update
Ok so here's a few HH's from an absolutley horrible run of cards, I should have lost more I think but given the way I was running -$600 is a victory. I never tilted even though I was -$3-4k at some points I maintained composure and played the best I can play.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51823 *Ok I think I actually donked this, this is a very draw heavy board I should have protected my hand more because they have high implied odds of they hit. He probably would have called anyway, but I misplayed my hand.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51831
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51833 *I actually put him on exactly QK I should have check raised all in on the turn. I supose the river play is a smallish tilt play.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51834
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51839
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51847 *I put him on Ace-Junk of course he hits and checks river
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51871
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51875 **I actually comtemplated folding on the flop I was just so sure he had AA, but I felt that may just be premenition because I'm running poorly. It's almost never incorrect to go broke with KK but sometimes you gotta trust your gut.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51878
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51881 *This entire play didn't make sence. Because I didn't have any diamonds I put him on either 89 or a flush draw with maybe overcards but I wasn't 100% sure it's also conceivable he has me beat. His check on the turn lead me to beleive he has nothing and is looking to improve river = blanc so I decided to value bet my hand incase he had a weak ten, and he decides to do something stupid so I insta-call
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51882 *Notice a pattern, whenever someone (including myself) does not protect their hand bad thigns happen
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51884 *Icing on the cake.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51885 *This guy is actually a lunatic, I didn't think he would play a flush draw so passivley I think he would apply more pressure so I actually checked to incuce a bluff and insta-called.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51887
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51890 If he insta reraised me all in I would probably call, but he decided to Hollywood it, he waited like 2 min and then he raises all in, so obviously he has the nuts his stupidity cost him money.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51896 Standard bluff, although I suspect a $250-300 bet on the river would have the same effect saving me $150 in the long run. But I'm not 100% sure I don't see anything wrong here it's a really close call.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51899 *Idiot
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51902 *Again the pattern, I donked this.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51909
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51914
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/51915 *lol they always check after they make a hand but bet hard without one - Donk mentallity

I played ~800 hands today, my interenet kept screwing around with me and it just was too much of a hassle to continue... Only managed to squeeze in ~800 hands only made $1300 which really sucks. First thing tomorrow I'm going to try and fix the problem because this is definatley out of line.
