Day 1 by thewh00sel, December 05

Today: +$65
To date: +$65
To go: $34,935

Today was fairly lame, 2,650 hands and an essentially break even day. Anyways I guess I'll update if i play anymore sessions today.

I played 17/15 today, didnt get many hands but i should probably be closer to 20/18 for next time. More aggression even though it felt like i was hyper aggressive. Who knows, maybe for 100NL this aggression level is okay, i'll have to look into it.

The Ghost remote by Daut, December 04

So last night after I finished up playing poker, I went to bed but couldnt really sleep, so I threw on Heat, one of my all time favorite movies. As im laying in bed watching I notice i got a few ims from my friend.

I jump out of bed real quick to answer him and my remote, which was laying on my blanket peacefully, flies up in the air and hits the ground real hard in a thud. I bend over and pick it up and without me hitting a button it changes my tv to channel 8. I hit the down channel button in an attempt to go down to the AV channel, but every time I hit a button it would enter 8. 8 had taken over my remote.

So I walk up to the tv, place down the remote, manually change the channel and go lay back down. Within a couple of seconds of hitting my bed, the remote comes to life and changes the channel to 8.

As an intense scowl is quickly creeping across my face, I leap up, grab the remote, throw it in the lowest dresser drawer, shut it, and change the channel back to AV. I jump in bed, turn around, and i see the 8 already on the tv as the ghost remote is changing the channel already.

Now, at this point, a sane man would calmly walk to the tv and remove the batteries from the demon remote. But seeing as I was on monkey life tilt, i grab the remote, fling open my door and toss the thing in the hallway, screaming at it that "YOU WILL STAY OUT THERE UNTIL YOU DECIDE YOU CAN BEHAVE YOURSELF!!!!!" Im gonna make a good father one day. Luckily it didnt have super powers to change the channel through the wall and I could go back to watching my movie in peace.

So this morning, I wake up around 1 ish, and its time for football. I decide to give the possessed clicker a second chance. Immediately upon entering the room it changes the channel to 8. I start breathing really heavy and get ready to throw it at the wall as hard as i can (which from my baseball days, is about 80 mph, this thing was about to meet its doom). Before i release, I notice (now that the lights are on) that when I dropped the remote, the cover had shifted over a little bit from the impact of the fall and was pressing in the 8 key. Awesome, nice to know im a total retard.

So today my jets destroyed the packers and we improved to 7-5. Our remaining schedule is Buffalo home, Minnesota away, miami away and oakland home. Oh baby, anything less than 10 wins will be a disappointing end to the season. Hopefully that gets us into the playoffs. I think the other 7-5 teams have to play each other, at least KC/jax do.

One poker related note. So I entered the sunday million today, and during the 3rd break, (in the money at this point) my buddy Pooruser and I were at the same table with similar chipstacks, i had about 82k he had 81k. We decided to swap 10%. About 5 minutes after break I busted AK v KK in the first level of the money, cashing for a monster 269, while he managed to eek his way into the 2nd level of the money, cashing for 401, so I netted a sick $13 profit from my awesome deal, SHIP IT BABY!!!

  Hello Daut44,

We have transferred $13.00 to your account as requested by 'PoorUser'.

Good luck to you both.

Regards,

PokerStars Cashier

Played a bit of cash today, ended up about 1300 in 800 hands or so. Doing extremely well on full ring lately, im running about 14.5ptbb over 6500 hands, for a 19.5k profit. Im just going to keep playing that while the games are good.

Alright, thats enough randomness for the day.

Looking back. by TalentedTom, November 30

I was browsing through some of my old hands that I posted here and reading the comments I made, and I can actually see how significantly my game and thought process has changed (for the better I beleive). While I was never very tight I am now considerably looser than before and my reads and understanding of the game is much better than it one was my winrate is almost 80% higher than it used to be as well.

My comfort zone at the moment is Stars 3/6NL. I can play this game and beat it for a very decent amount of money any time I want to. I've built a ton of my bankroll playing these stakes but I beleive now it's time for me to move up, there is not much left for me to learn at these stakes and I think I've certainley over-stayed my welcome. I've reached a level now where I hope I am good enough to beat any stake I wish to play or adapt quickly enough to be a winning player at any stake. So starting today I will play 5/10NL full time and attempt to move up higher at a much more rapid pace than before.

I've also made a friendly bet with Straate that we will play at least 75k hands this month (December), and if one of us fails to reach this number we pay the other 1k. I think if I do put in this number of hands playing my A game, I will have the biggest month of my life. So we will see where this goes.

Okay :) by TalentedTom, November 28

I've had many requests from a lot of people to revive the blog, because it's been idle so long. So I figure I may do a few posts here and there but I will most likley change the format of the blog, I will just list things that I think are interesting and omit the ABC hands which I feel are not too significant.

I don't feel like spending too much time at the moment writing, but I will do a significant post int he near future

Last few days. by TalentedTom, September 25

Okay so I'm preety comfortable with my heads up game I feel I I have an edge over most players but I have refused a few matches against people like Pooruser which is something I'm not happy with, but this is mainly because he wanted to play me on a day where I was stuck like 4k or so and I was too "beat up" to take on an opponent of that calibur (I don't play in situations where I have a very low % of doing well) . Had I been + for the day I would certainley play. But against weaker opponets I have been making very good money playing HU so it's good I finally got that part of my game up to "par". I still have a long way to go before I will call myself a very good HU player but I'm happy I have an edge over the majoroty of players now.

I've also started playing 5/10 recently now that I can play in almost any setting and make profit. So far it's been playing very similar to 3/6. The 3/6 regulars: VaeSolis, Meatcity, Straate are probably much stronger players than most of the 5/10 regulars (I know this is true seeing as meatcity and vaesolis both have had great success playing the 10/20 NL game). After playing with these guys everything else is will probably be downhill.

Also I'm probably gonna try not posting the ABC hands which are boring I would immagine. If you watch I've changed my opening bet to about 3x the big blind now which I find is good for my style of play. So the most recent HH's I will be posting are 5/10 and the older ones (still within the week) are 3/6.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75850 * One thing I noticed is that people tell the truth a very high %, so it's actually +EV to beleive them
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75865 *I suppose I should have repoped the flop, I think anything besides a set has a very difficult time calling.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75868 *Funny hand, rare 3 way flush. Have not seen one of these in a while.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75872 * My only read was that straate would not value bet a flush lower than Tc, so has long as he didn't have the Ac or Qc I was good. I had no idea what he had I just know what he had to have to win and he does not have this a large % of the time. Interestinly enough, I probably would have called this with AT/AQ as well.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75876 *I suppose I should just 3 bet here to decrease varience.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75898 *I insta-called here this guy is a complete maniac has been goign all in a lot and showing, just unfortunate river. My flop and turn line is preety shitty however, I'm not too happy w/ this hand.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75906 *Somewhat of a cooler, but I should have been able to get away from this river.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75961
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75963 *This hand was funny, at first I didn't understnad why the money was going to him I never saw the board being paired I thought I had the stone nuts Had I seen that, this would have played out very different.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75977 *I don't understand this bluff, not a good idea to bluff when a non-scare card comes. I actually thought he had KQ or missed KT/T9
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75983 *How do I lose this
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/76040 *I have no idea what I was thinking at the time, this is an absolutley crazy play.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/76197 *I was 90% sure he dosn't lead into me with the queen so this is preety basic.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/77660 *No push on the turn because I felt there was no fold equity.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/77753 *Standard bluff call. I think I'm playing tourney's too much like cashgames, I need to play a more basic ABC style to be more successful.

WCOOP time! by TalentedTom, September 17

Today I took a stab at the $500+50 NL Hold-em event, did preety decent. Was always chipleader at my table except then I made a critical error, I tried to get the 2nd place chipleader off top pair (KJ) and did a 3-barrel bluff but he called me down the entire way check-calling, so from now on I'll try not to get tournamanet players off top pair because none of them seem to have any discpline at all so I'll adjust and see how the other events go.

On another note cashgames went well today, I lost a few key races early on which annoyed me as I started off my session losing ~2k or so but I finished +12 buy ins so it was a solid day.

Hand history is preety ABC stuff, people were just in a "hes bluffing mode" and called me extremley light which is fine by me.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75153 - This guy is a complete donk, he does not raise on the flop with his draw but when I repop it he min reraises me leaving himself $80 behind... it's like hes not thinking at all hes just acting impulsivley. As you can immagine he left soon after.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75160 - Gogo 1 outer.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75167 - Not a good board to be pushing a flush draw, he also left soon after

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75172 - I was happy to win this one, this guy was talking a lot of trash after he checked down a set when I had the button he said, "no point in betting I'm just gonna check and let you kill yourself"

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75184 - I don't get this but I also don't mind it

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75185 - They were just playing attrocious today, pricing me in and then calling off all their chips when I hit... dream day. I wish they always played this bad.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75187 - He value bet bluffed me..

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75191 - I don't understand why he didn't push the turn, was he planning on folding if the board paired? I don't know, he played this hand very bad it was just a cooler however, nothing I can do here.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75200 -

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75201 - Again I don't understand why everyone is getting so fancy but I don't mind.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/75221 - Trap the tourney donk.

I got eliminated from the tourney with QT MP raise (me and villian had 11k stacks with 150/300 blinds) I make it 900 to go, he calls from the BB. Flop is K77, I bet pot, he thinks and calls. Turn 6 I bet 2/3 pot he thinks for like 20 sec and calls. River = blank I shove he calls and shows KJ. :/ I didn't save the HH because I was unable to find it for some reason. But this is how it went down.

More heads up by TalentedTom, September 14

My heads up game is really developing well I feel comfortable now playing against anyone (or everyone I've encountered so far) Except I seem to be getting destroyed in the full ring, I'm making a lot of really good plays but people are just sucking out, but when the money goes in I generally have the best of it, so I have nothing to worry about.

Once thing I need to work on is making "donk calls". When I'm reading my hand history of losing hands, I can see many situations where fold is the clear play but for whatvever reason at the time I convinced myself to call, now that I notice this hopefully I will do it at a much lesser frequency.

Today's session was medium length - 3400 hands

Hands:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/74076
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/74084 *I probably should have reraised the flop, it wouldn't have made a difference but its a better line.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/74090
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/74109 *This guy semi-bluffs too aggresiveley so it becomes transparent, I was gonna push on any non ace or heart card
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/74136
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/74139 *I thought he had a set or AA kinda funny I thought

Returnnnnnnnnnnnnn! by TalentedTom, September 13

Well I stopped posting here cause I just didn't feel like doing so anymore and I thought I would play better without distractions like this Ironically I started playing less with each coming day, so today I played 5k hands on 3/6 SH. Finished a sweet -3k. Today I was playing a lot of HU (HU = heads up), this is what I consider the weakest part of my game due to lack of experience.

Weird thing today is I think I may have tilted, my highpoint was +2k or so, and then within the next 1k hands or so I lost like 7-8 buy ins I was really out of control my lowpoint was -5k i think but I calmed down and made back a little over 2k. I was actually making good money playing the heads up, I just lost most of it in the ring game when my multi-draws missed and overpairs got cracked and stupid bluffing when I should not have done so.

There's a lot of interesting hands, but I am somewhat tired after that long non-stop session but I will make a greater effort to post stuff here, no more slacking off (I hope)

Weeeee (Day 7) by TalentedTom, August 19

Okay so today I played ~4100 hands and finished +$4100, first 10+ buy in day in a long time. I made the money in bunches which is interesting but not unexpected seeing as this is how it generally goes for whatever reason. I made another adjustment to my betting strategy today, now I just randomly mix between 3-4x raises regardless of # of limpers I invite people to call and make mistakes. I say random but one thing I will almost never do is raise 3x on button wiht 3 limpers already in pot, in such extreme situations I'll make the 4 bet.

A lot of my money today was made through small-medium sized pots, I was just really solid value from just about every type of hand weather it was 2nd pair, top pair weak kicker it made no difference.

Hand histories from today: (today I seemed to play really aggresive post-flop because I found people were just not folding, so I decided to extract maximum value)

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63347
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63350
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63352 *lol, I wonder if these people are surprised that they lost the pot, who knows =)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63377 *I like my line here, only thing I should change I think is a larger flop bet, maybe 60-70%
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63379 *Maybe I should have check-called, I thought I had more fold equity here.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63380
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63394
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63399 *For whatever reason I put him on a straight draw Qx, I really thought X was A and not a pair. It didn't make sence for AJ, JK to play like this or even 2 pair.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63404 *He called 30bb ($120) preflop with KQ suited wow.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63409 *Big laydown for me, I almost never fold flushes. But I honestly did not feel good about this hand so I pitched it. I'd say this is ~50/50
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63422 *Table talk
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63425
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63427 *lol why does everyone auto-slowplay these hands it makes no sence.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63428
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63431
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63432 *Poor guy gotta go broke here.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63433 *Slowplaying works sometimes, this is one of them.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63434 *I thought he had either flush draw or T9, obviously I play like a wuss when I'm out of position but on the river I was preety sure I was good.

Goal:

84600
left - 4100 = 81500 hands left to play in 28 days

Day 6 by TalentedTom, August 18

These are my 2/4 stats so far since this goal has began. Funny Radiohead msg'd me saying "Tom you'r tightening up you'r vpip is only 28 over the last few thousand hands" Funny guy.

Played ~3600 hands today really weird stuff. I think for the first time in a while I got a little bit tilted. This guy VaeSolis + a few other people kept reraisng me almost every single time I entered a pot. For a while I was just folding letting them have it, but they kept firing. So after a few hundred hands of this I think I got frustrated and I ended up going from ~+1$600 to -$1000, which is just a massive swing for 2/4. Of course I kept playing, I wanted to play through it and I did. I went from being -1000 to +2k by the end of the evening. But had I not gotten frustrated this could have easily been a 3-4k day.

It's a good learning experience though, because up to this point no one has ever challenged me yet. Everyone has been playing like a pushover, change is good. Not being able to adjust quickly enough cost me, but it wont again (hopefully).

Hands from today:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/62957
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/62967 *I never knew where I stood here, but he really overplayed his QK
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/62981 *Terribly played QQ, he deserved to lose the way he played it :/
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/62990 *I was 80% sure he had AK, really unfortunate hand. I like my play here though
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/62996 *Good read, bad result.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63010 *Again
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63022 *For whatever reason I felt this player was just stone cold bluffing. We had been bluffing back and fourth a lot winning pots with 3rd pair or even ace high. Only hand I was worried about was pocket tens, but I don't think he would limp in from the SB with TT, so I felt he was just making a play and insta-called this.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63023
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63029 *Rigged river... if the river is anthing else I can get away from that $120 bet, but I'm forced to call here.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63031 *I obviously could have gotten more value here, but this is an extremley tough spot.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/63034 *Normally I push here, but I felt I had no fold equity. I'm getting better than 2:1 on every street, and I would have pitched the river had I not hit.

Goal:

88100
left - 3500 = 84600 hands left to play in 29 days

Day 3, 4, and 5 by TalentedTom, August 17

Did not play very much over the last two days, I've been buisy. But they will be included in the challenge. If anything they will make it more interesting Overall I've played ~1700 hands and I'm up ~ $3000 or so. So this weekend I'm going to have to hit the tables very hard, and hopefully get in 10k+ hands.

Also on another note this new style I'm playing is working out extremley well, it's a more passive/cautious approach but because I have such a big edge over most of these players when it comes to post-flop play there's no real reason for me to play big-bet poker. This concept was actually introduced to me when I was listening to Daniel Negraneau's video blog ( www.fullcontactpoker.com ), and his presentation in the World Poker Conference ( www.thepokerbay.org) He made a few really intesting points. "If you'r mother had to play Phil Ivey in a heads up match tomorrow, and she knows nothing about poker, how would you go about teaching her how to beat him? Answer is preety simple, just go all in every hand. Phil Ivey's monstereous post-flop skills are now completley meaningless and he is forced to race in order to win. Mom could probably end up winning ~30% of the time.

Since the last week or so I've been overly-aggresive (I found myself getting more aggresive with each session) I think I reached a climax where I was just racing for stacks which is not my style. Since I've calmed down my varience is now squeeky low and I'm playing poker again.

Todays session was short, I will save myself for the weekend where I plan on ripping it up. I played ~1550 hands total and finished +$2500 nothing special.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/61609 *Tried to keep the other guy in the pot, had the guy with AQ not folded the turn, for sure I would have stacked him on the river not that I'm going to complain about the outcome anyway.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/61611 *I'm in a mode now where I'm just taking flops. If he's raising with something like AJ or KJ I don't want to force him out preflop.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/61612
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/62572
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/62576 *His line didn't make sence checks twice then reraises, obviously I lucked out here. But had I not hit and he still leads on the river I probably pitch this hand.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/62586 *Crazy straate
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/62607 *I think I misplayed this hand. I should have definatley reopoed this one and isolated Zan who'm I have position on.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/62616 *Can't win em all. He calls 3 bet on the flop with A6... that's just incredible...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/62626

Goal:

89800
left - 1700 (last 3 days) = 88100 hands left to play

So far 5 days 12k hands, definatley not gonna cut it at this pace... gotta hit it up hard this weekend and make it up.

Keep it coming.. by TalentedTom, August 14

Day 2

Well I assumed eventually I will stop running bad and getting these rigged flops, but apparently it was just the beginning. Today's beats were almost worse than yesturdays because I often got my money in with the best of it and ended up getting sucked out to 2 outers. I played ~3400 hands today which is a solid number, I feel I could play a little more but I'm going to be downloading high stakes poker episode 11 so my connection will be used up. Started off my session good, won the first two all in pots, and then the string of bullshit happens again, amazingly enough I finished +$1200 today. If my hands held I could have easily been +3-4k but
I don't mind, I'll take what I can get I'm not a greedy guy.

I've also adjusted my style a little, this new change really helps me out a lot, I think it's something I should have stuck with (I used to do this but then I stopped). I am now raising less preflop, especially in position, so I get more action and I can control the size of the pot accordingly. Because pots grow exponentially lowering you'r opening bet by 1-2bb's really allows for better post-flop play. And this is where I feel I have my largest edge over most people. By playing big-bet poker the playing feild is neutralized and my edge becomes smaller. Because of this my varience today was extremley small, even though I took a ton of bad beats all in one long string I was never stuck more than 1 buy in from my original starting point.

Hand history's from today:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/61139 *Funny I do a 4x pot bet and he honestly thinks his ace high flush is good Looking back at this, I susepct he would have probably called an all in bet. There are some people who will just never fold even when it's so obvious.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/61181 *This is just 100% rigged
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/61238 *Yay I have AA AA is only a preflop favorate when you'r not running bad
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/61240 *Weird I felt he had the overset when he min check raised me, but I suspect he would play AA/KK the same way as well.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/61248 *Standard
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/61265 *I suppose this is my mistake, I should not have reraised the river... but this player is a complete donkey he would play AK, A9 etc.. the same way
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/61266 *I was initially just trying to pickup the hand preflop, but I hit a dream flop and went with it. Kudos to pooruser on the good read, if he ended up winning with jack high this woulda been a sick hand.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/61272 *Icing on the cake =)

Goal:

93 200
left - 3400 today = 89800 hands left to play

The goal is moving along smoothly. At this rate I will finish ahead of time, and more importantly I will have developed the discpline to play long sessions, completing this will really help me grow as a player this is something I have been lacking for a long time.

Also on another note, I'm extrmley proud of my play today, I find it amazing I finished in the (+) even with the number of suckouts I remember at one point I was thinking to myself, "geez here we go again" but I grinded it out and pulled together a preety solid session. I'm wondering maybe I can start maiking 3-5k a day once I get a break-even run of cards and maybe... just maybe even a good run of cards? We will see.

Here we go by TalentedTom, August 13

Ok so I'm going to address one of the biggest problems with my game something that others have but I do not. Rather than making a results oriented goal I will make a volume-based goal. I play much less hands than almost any other mid-high stakes poker player I somehow make good money, money making has never been the issue with me it has always been putting in the hands. So my goal will be : 100k hands in 35 days. Since I will be playing 6-max this will not be too bad I will be able to get in a decent hand size very quickly. I figure one way or another I will end up making decent money because I have a nice win-rate.
Tomorrow will be the official day 1. If I am unable to reach my goal I will have to serve some kind of punishment, maybe donate money to charity or something like that.

100k hands in 35 days, gogogo!

WTF is going on.... by TalentedTom, August 13

Today I played the longest session of my life, and the results were attrocious. I started off like a roller coaster up and down highest peak was ~+2k lowest point was -5k or so finished the day -4k which is really bad considering my session was 6.7k hands.

I'm checking my pokertracker apparently I'm down 5k at 3/6NL over 2000 hands today and +1k at 2/4 over 4.5k hands... either way these results are attrocious. This is a really weird run I'm in... I keep getting these one outers where I get AK v AA and flop will come A72, nothing I can do about that.... I just gotta get stacked... I'm also finding that I'm losing KK v AA way too often, QQ v KK, overpair vs set. It's really weird, I have not been on such an attrocious run in a very long time. Last time was first week of may where I lost 20 buy ins playing 2/4NL full ring. I hope this will not intrude with my goal... but running bad is definatley less motivation to play.

Ironic thing is that I always over-roll any stake I play even though I almost never run bad, a bad run for me is losing 2-3 buy ins generally which is always less than 2% of my bankroll but now it seems like it was a good move doing this.

My original plan was to play 5/10 once I polish up my short handed ability and take stabs at 10/20. But it seems there will now be a change of plans because I never immagined so many setup flops and bad beats. It's almost funny, if I'm winning on a flop I'll get sucked out, but if I'm losing then it's one of those sitations where I have what appears to be the nuts but I'm drawing dead like AK v AA A76 flop etc..

I honestly am considering playing some full ring as I seem to almost never run that bad over there but I think things will work themselves out...

A LOT of hands today, I will not explain many of them as many of them are preety standard.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60697
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60700 *Setup I felt something fishy about his play, terrible play by him.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60708
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60710 **I was on a rush here so I decided to play Q6s, I actually almost broke even here because the ten 8 guy called
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60715
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60717
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60718 *Again, I hit the impossible card.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60726
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60727
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60732
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60741 *I have no idea what some of these people are thinking seriously wtf
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60763 **100% SETUP - I do not go broke here unless the queen comes, in fact I would probably check/call medium sized bet and fold to a big bet.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60775 *I guess I should have folded the turn... stupid play by me.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60778 *Again, WTF are they thinking
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60790 *Shit like this going on all day, you may notice I have a decent sized stack, but I ended up losing it.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60793 *One of the few hands I misplayed today.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60795 *Again, wtf is he thinking.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60796 *I do make the most of my good hands at least
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60797 *This hand really pissed the shit out of me, not because it's AA v KK, but because they teased me with the K on the turn. That really pissed me off, this is almost like an insult. So many setup boards and now this shit.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60805 *Amazing how I still maintain my composure after this shit
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60809 *This hand annoyed me too not because of the post flop play, but because people call $30 with a trash hand like A2s and hit monster flops like that, really was begining to annoy me.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60812 *Another setup flop... I actually felt he may have it on the turn but it was realativley cheap. What bothers me here is that he checks the river, wtf.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60813 *I actually won a hand...but of course I lose the main pot...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60814 *I thought I would try something differnt and smooth call a raise, and he hits his 2 outer... absolutley unreal...First time I attempt a different play and he hits a set...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60818 *Sigh 95-94% favorate on the flop is not enough.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60819 *This is bad beacuse the ace paired on the river and I could not put him on a flush because he was a loose-cannon, if the ace does not pair up I fold this...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60825 *Hey look I won a hand!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60828 *Honestly, if you read the HH I cannot pinpoint how I lose money.. these people play so terrible I don't get it... Again wtf are some of these people thinking.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60834
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60841 *I cannot beleive he bluffed me out of a sidepot with a man all in... this is really bad play. I just assumed this is one of those spots where he cannot bluff.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60846 *Again they tease me, this is really annoying
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60858 *Have yet to win a coinflip
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60860 *A3, Honestly wtf is he thinking
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60862 *Such rigged flops, this is honestly unreal
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60865 *This one I actually could have gotten away from, but again its a very close call
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60866 *Unreal that he hits his 4, this is complete bullshit. I suppose I'm getting punished for not protecting my hand. 2nd time all night I try a differnt style of play and I get killed for it...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60872 *Sigh
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60874 *I suppose I should have folded the river, top 2 pair + flush draw is clearly not good
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60876 *Sigh, dumbo thinks his jacks are good and of course they are.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60878 *I guess he knew it was coming and value bet before hand because this is complete bullshit
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60884 *Honestly who the hell folds here, how many 1 outer flops can come in one day, unreal...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60885 *My play is deteriating here I suppose
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60886 *Funny part here is that somoene else in the hand folded ace-8, but apparently that does not stop him from hitting 2 pair
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60887
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60888 *Honestly wtf he calls with 4 high flush out of position and he thinks he can check raise me the river idiot
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/60889 *Unreal how this keeps hapening... unreal...

Thoughts:
I honestly don't know what to sa of my play today.. there were just so many setup flops I don't know if I could have played these hands differently, or if I should play them differnetley. For the time being I will play 2/4 untill everything balances out... then I will move back up to the stakes I should be playing. I hope this does stop, nothing more I can say.

Goal: (~6800 hands today) 93 200 more to go.

Goal Time :o by TalentedTom, August 12

Many of these other successfull other poker players set goals for themselves that help keep them motivated and focused on the game. So either today or tomorrow I am going to think of a goal and try to reach it, if this is successfull (hopefully it will be) I will do this more often. At the moment I have nothing specific in mind, it's just an idea floating out there once I figure this out I will post it up and get started ASAP. If anyone has any suggestions or something like that gimme a shout because at the moment my mind is blanc

my worst run ever by straate, August 11

so much for my 12k goal... i was like 2.5k away then all of a sudden things went to hell. in 4 hours i lost almost 6k. most unbelieveable hands back to back to back, and losing every coinflip imaginable. i lost mid set to top set on the flop 2 times, got 2 outted 3 times, and also lost KK on a AKJ board vs A4os allin on the flop...for a full buyin....he caught runner runner full house

anyways im taking a break. this is just unbelievable. im proud of myself for not tilting tho and for stopping, I just wish i could have stopped sooner.

anyways, im still at a healthy br of 42k+. When i get back from vacation hopefully i can get back to 50k. on vacation im going to keep reading and learning this game.

sorry i didn't make my goal, this is just the worst run ever. theres only ONE other time ive ever had a run liek this, it was on 1/2 full ring....I lost literally 8k+ worth of pots in only a few days...each time i was 70%+ favorite

i hate bad beat stories, but honestly, this is just insane.

i think its funny i set out to make like 2.5 and ended up 8k away from my goal LOL
