| | 1st FR session by shaneomac, January 24
well i recently played my first fullring session in trying to get better @ fullring. i would like to say i hope my fucking punctuation is better all you assholes who complain about it being hard to read . well my session went alrite. i think i played decently and got good value out of my hands. im still strugling to find when to raise with what hands and what not to. its a lot different from 6max. im gonna talk it over with some friends who play FR who i know are really solid and improve my game. i only finished down around a half buy which i dont think is bad @ all because i also played 10 tables which ive never done.
During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1624 hands and saw flop:
- 95 out of 201 times while in big blind (47%)
- 29 out of 199 times while in small blind (14%)
- 104 out of 1224 times in other positions (8%)
- a total of 228 out of 1624 (14%)
Pots won at showdown - 26 of 55 (47%)
Pots won without showdown - 153
i just made an msn contact and its bigbluffer.79@hotmail.com so add me if ya like=)

| | Live Game by tae-g, January 24
I played a nice 4 or 5 hour game of 50NL last night with some college buddies.
4th hand of the night i flop a set of 10s and stack a guy. It was glorious.
Overall it was a pretty soft game, but there was one guy that suprised me with his pretty good play. Apparently this game is gonna be a weekly thing, so it should be a nice addition to my online game.

he's telling me that poker will die out and games are getting too hard for him. and that doyle brunson wrote the super system because he too knew that poker will die out and games are getting too hard for him. so doyle wrote S/S to make him as much money as possible.

[00:31] U diE LiKE 123: tight aggressive is solid
[00:31] U diE LiKE 123: dunno wtf u talking about
[00:31] mzbaybieboy: tight just means u pick ur hands
[00:31] mzbaybieboy: to play with certain opponents
[00:31] U diE LiKE 123: solid means u pick ur hands AND be aggressive postflop
[00:31] U diE LiKE 123: ...
[00:31] U diE LiKE 123: that's according to doyle brunson
[00:31] U diE LiKE 123: read his fuckin book

[00:32] U diE LiKE 123: even now
[00:32] U diE LiKE 123: ....
[00:32] mzbaybieboy: why they gotta write a book
[00:32] mzbaybieboy: if they can profit
[00:32] mzbaybieboy: more by playing
[00:32] mzbaybieboy: instead of exploiting the game
his theory...
[00:33] mzbaybieboy: my point is they know
[00:33] mzbaybieboy: poker will b unprofitable someday
[00:33] mzbaybieboy: thats why they wrote a book to make as much money as possible
[00:33] U diE LiKE 123: god srsly

[00:34] mzbaybieboy: its why they write books

on the other hand, i decide not to play more today. I got into a really really weird run of cards that makes my game very hard to play. people are trying to trap me and not respecting me much at all. and the cards are set up in a way that makes my style pretty damn hard to play with a shitload of marginal situations. pretty shitty run for 2 days, but w/e im only down 2 buyins. i don't really complain much about suckouts because i promised corwin to not talk about them unless they are funny.

| | BREAKEVEN FTW by tae-g, January 23
Basically broke even today at 10NL because of my inability to lay down set vs flush, straight vs flush etc. Won some heads up sngs after watching some CR hu videos. I feel like the loose aggressive style CR teaches has been playing off and is a little more fun to play.
On a good note I stacked some ppl on flush over flush, sets, overpairs, but right now I just get a little too excited in big pots and dont think enough before I make decisions.
If I make the proper laydowns today would probably be a +5 buyin day in a very short session (1-1.5 hrs), but alas I fall in love with bad hands sometimes and make fishy calls.
Atleast Im not losing money

| | I placed second in offlline MTT today by okyougosu, January 23
The latest of our ex-progamers tourney accomplishments encouraged me to buy in 200+R MTT of Winter Poker Tournament at Asia casino (Moscow, Russia), and I just placed #2 in it to make 11K profit. My previous best MTT cash was 1680 on pokerstars at 50+5. Now I'm going to play all the remaining events, including 2000+300.
Me myself is a 2/4 up to 5/10 cash player only, I don't like donkaments. I've got a huge improvement of my poker skills since this site running, so I say THANKS to all of you LPnetters, especially those who is here from the beginning Naz, Ket, Travis and others.

I finally joined CR last week, cashed out a couple hundred for myself, then proceeded to hit a massive downswing and lose maybe half of the 600 i left myself.
I was kinda pissed about that, but last night I won a couple 11$ sng-a-ments and got myself back up to 600.
If I do a session tonight I will prolly attack the $22 45's and maybe a couple $11 180's.
I keep sleeping in and missing class btw, i cant get up at 6:00 yo...
what a boring fucking blog lol.

| | Unproductive Monday by RAHZero, January 23
Alright, so last night I was really tired from my first day of classes and just wanted to relax, I pretty much slept and did nothing. I put in a short session of NL 50 and ran very well, finished up $89.70 in 224 hands.
Tonight, my plan is to do some HW, then grind out 2 hours or so at NL 100. I'm looking at a 10 buy-in shot, which should give me a good chance to gauge whether or not I'm a winner at that limit. I've run really bad there in the past, and overall my NL 50 record isn't really too hot, so I'm thinking this is a last gasp. I think I've got NL down pretty well, but if I fail at this shot, I'm thinking of switching over to some tourneys for a while.
That's all for now, will have an update later tonight with the results from my first NL 100 session.

| | Past Week by DooMeR, January 23
So I know I said I would be updating as soon as I played some serious sessions, well turns out I only played 600 hands last week and it wasn't until the weekend that i put in some serious hands. I think I played around 12k hands this weekend which was pretty sick, I am having a shitty run of cards still not getting much action and getting a ton of setups. I am however up about 3 buyins so I'm pretty proud of that, considering i had two 1.4k swings which was discouraging since I am still new to 200NL and getting used to the game but I definitely have an edge on the competition here. There are a suprising number of fish to be taken advantage of, and the regulars are not exactly that great so I have a feeling I'll be able to crush it pretty soon =).
Yesterday, I finally got PokerTracker since Milkman pressured me into it. Needless to say, IT IS THE SHIT :D. I saw my stats though and i find i am too tight, part of it I think is because of the aggresiveness of the stakes so I think I tightened up to counter act being pushed around without realizing it. But alas, dont worry! I am going to really think my game through and brainstorm with some other players and see how I can loosen up and see if I can find some leaks.
Another sexy thing about PT is that i got to see my winrate for the past month on 200NL. I have played 59k hands and have a winrate of 1.35bb/100 which is equivilant to being up $3141. Very happy about that considering how I've been running and the fact that I need to adjust my game some.
:HG: watch out 200NL!
Last week me, my roommate and my neighboor have been playing Xmen:legends and when i got back this week after spending the weekend at my parents house, I get home and they are on the second to last mission, and well we stayed up 'til one playing it. And ofcourse cried when we finished it . Was a good game... oh my god, I'm getting teary eye'd again, sorry about that I promised I wouldn't while I wrote this. So yeah, we have to find another game to consume our lives while my buddies ditch classes to play .

| | Dusty tries NL100, fails horribly again. by DustySwedeDude, January 23
Since I’m down under 4k again I’ll start grinding NL50 for a while again. I’ve decided that I won’t play NL100 if it hurts my BR. Next try on NL100 will be when I have 4.5 k. I’ll probably cash out half my BR in april or something and put into the stock market so I’ll try to be very overrolled untill then. Ok, anyway, I shouldn’t complain. I’m up a lot this month, but this still makes me a bit annoyed. That’s no good.
Anyway, I recall Saki said something about having to move up and down a lot of times when he first tried out NL200. That makes me feel a bit better. Here's some hands from my last 30 min session:
KK vs TT pf allin, he spikes his T on the river (75 bb)
Set vs set (50 bb)
K-high flush vs A-high flush on flop. (150 bb)
I also managed to do one bluff where some dude calls me down for 30 bb with secound pair and when I finaly flop a FH in a raised pot the other dude, who’s famous for going allin with anything checks 3 streets with AK-high. THANKS A LOT GOD! I was down almost 3 bi in 30 min.
ok, sry, this post sucked but I had to just write about it. I'll try to not post so much about bad runs and such for a while.

| | What the fuck was that!? by DustySwedeDude, January 23
I tried some jujutsu today. The bad thing was that everyone got Airlines all the time and I kinda crashed into the floor all the time. IT WAS SO FUN! That's like the ultimate tilt-killer!
On another note; I've seen a lot of HSP and Poker after dark during the last few days and I must say that I really like Doyle and The Mouth more now. Other then that I'd have to say that Sam Farha looks really nice in his suit. Teh pwnage.

| | Are NL200 players that bad or am I just that lucky by Joe, January 23
yea i have been really running hot in the last few days, basically since i moved to NL200. i havent been playing much, but my winrate got skyhigh.
here is the graph:
http://joeik.sc45.info/img/joe/joe_nl200_beg.jpg
of course i am well aware i wont be able to keep such winrate or not even close to it. in fact i would be satisfied if i could attain something like 4.5-5.0ptbb/100 playing 4 tables.
i know i am getting quite lucky (like their draws are not hitting often vs me and my sets are vs big pairs quite often), but still it seems to me that i am quite crushing these games. usually i am the most aggressive player at my tables (unless there is a hallingol-wannabe-maniac, but they are usually pretty easy money). both my VPIP and PFR got up a lot recently. i have been running on like 20-21/17-18 for the past few days, which may not be that much for some of u, but its definately alot more than what i was used to play before (like 17/13-14). i hope i will be able to own these games even in times when i will be running bad, but i am afraid it wont be that easy, since my game gets alot worse when i run bad.
thats it for now, gotta go to my soccer training soon.
