What I did with my FPPs. by capaneo, March 04

Before I tell ya Im just gonna say I'm planning to stay at 12 tabling 200nl(6max) for 5000 more and I would move up to 400nl after. Since the 6max games are sooooooooooooo easy. here is a quick graph of today.

http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l273/capaneo/6max.jpg

So after lots of thinkin I finally bought not one but two watches with my FPPs and emailed PS the invoice tryin to get back my money back at the cost of my FPPs. The Zenith watch is a super cool watch I got it for $5500 on the internet(retail price is around $8k-$9k). Basically its one of the cheapest automatic swiss made watches u can get(yes 5k is considered cheap with starting price usually being around $5,000 and average price around $100,000). At first I was a bit nervous and felt bad about spending that much on a watch but then I said fuck it cause its only one and a half month of FPPs . For those of you who doesn't know, brands like Rolex and Omega and other shits u hear from fags on TV and stuff are really down the line brands that are basically good for dumb american black trash people who doesn't know anything and they thing anything that's gold and has some diamonds on it is cool. If u wanna get a real cool watch contact me!
I also got a casul Tissot quartz watch just to wear at my daily life like when I goto school and shit. Here are some pics for you and pokerstars!

The Tissot I got around $500CAD is a quartz watch. Basically if u wanna get something that works with a battery DONT GO ANYWHERE ELSE. Tissot is THE BEST brand for quartz watches for the best price available.

Anyway sorry if I sounded like bragin and shit. Wish me luck at the tables.

Green Is The Colour! by tilted fish, March 04

Finally! Just finished a 2k hand session and it was good.
Its been awhile since I have seen that green colour in my poker tracker, but I finally recoverd from that shitty downfall.
I just hope the next one is not anytime soon, like next session would suck, but for now I am happy.

Long time... by RAHZero, March 04

Damn, it's been a while since I've updated this. Anyway, things haven't been going too well lately. I went on a small downswing at NL $100, and wasn't really sure what to make of it. Nothing big, less than -5 BIs or so, and I was still up at NL $100 overall. It's not really the money which nagged me either, but just the losing, and I'm not sure whether that's a good or a bad thing. I decided to play some NL $50 for a little bit, and that's only gone so-so. My BR is still over $3500, so obviously I haven't lost a whole lot, but something just feels off. Just got done with a short session at NL $50, was up like $36 after 466 hands and just had no desire to play any more. With that said, I think I'm going to finally actually take a long-term break from NL cash-games and give something else a try. Nothing too serious, but maybe like a week or so break to give SNGs or MTTs a try (UB SNGs seem really soft, only have a very small sample size, like 2 dozen, but my ITM is like 70%, and people seem to donk their chips off easily). They fill very slowly though, so I might have to keep playing NL $50 until I set up ePassporte and can get some money onto Stars. Either way, with February RB, my BR is still in decent shape, so I'm hopeful that I can still reach my 10k goal.

Kinda broke... by Floofy, March 04

Ok im kinda broke @ online and im not suposed to touch my offline monies. So i decided to give out an offer.....

Also i got bad habit of playing underolled and i feel playing with a stake i will be forced to play strickly 6.50 which is good

You stake me 200-300$. i play 6.50 turbos (9 table them) for around 10 days. Only that. At the end of the 10 days:

I send you back your full 300$. Less if i actually lost money (i will send whatever is left, and this is unlikely). If i won money, i will give you 50% of the profits.

Note that my roi i think is 17% in sngs over 2K sample (and a lot of it is 200-500$ HU match where i didnt do so well) and i definetly crush the competition at the 6.50 level, and im really confident this is +EV for you.

Im also open to other deals.

for anyone who cares, main reason this is hapening is playing fixed limit underolled in tough short handed matches too often

If you are interested, send me a pm
oh and go muck yourself Ket -_-

First days at UB by rANDY, March 04

Played for 4 days at UB now, since the start of March, and even though I'm not too keen on the software limiting how many tables you can play, I think it has helped my game. Over te 4 days im up about 15 buy ins, it just seems easier when playing few tables. Also the players at UB seem even worse than at stars, very easy to get them all in when you've got the goods, well that is at NL10

Things looking nice atm Hope it continues. Oh yea and I saw the biggest stack (compared to buy in) today, someone had $85 at a NL10 table. No idea how he accumulated it as he was shit, was down to $40 in 5 mins, unfortunately I couldn't get a hand against him ^^;

peace!~

LOL Spewaments by DustySwedeDude, March 04

So I ran really good for about 7k hands on NL100 and was up like 14 buyins or so. Today I lost about 4 of them and won some of it back so right now I’m up 1150USD or so for march. I really think that most of that was due to bad play. Sure, I got outdrawn a few times and I didn’t get that many good hands and such but I’m finally enough of a man to admit when I fuck things up. I think it’s pretty obvious that I get a fair bit to loose and spewish when I feel that I can beat a limit fairly easy and that’s just bad for profits. I’ll need to tighten up and play some solid poker again if I’m going to get past a certain point and I feel that it’s really good that I’ve finally figured this out. I’ve never really gone on monkey tilt but I think that I get into some slight tilt fairly easy with too many hero calls, less then optimal pf play and such when I win or lose too much during a somewhat short period of time. Just another leak to fix.

omg soooo hangover by SneakrFreakr, March 04

So yesterday I went to the b-day party of my friend. We started drinking at her flat (mmm some Polish vodka) and then we went to the club. I got sooo pissed and spent sooo much that I don't even want to think about it. Well actually I don't remember the second half of the night and I have no idea how I got home. But I had a really good time. Now it's almost 5pm and I'm still in my bed lol. I've got to do some homework for tommorow but it shouldn't take more than an hour. I think I'll play a bit later.

I played a semi-short session yesterday and even though I wasn't running good at all (i.e. I think I had one set during the whole session) and I still made over 2 buyins. I think I played really good, haven't made a single big mistake and made some good calls and well-timed bluffs. Here are my stats for the session and some hand histories:

http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/7171/333xr1.jpg

1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/154190
I played it very passively but I don't like betting out a flush draw in a 4-way pot on such a board. The board was pretty scary on the river (even though I had two pairs) so I checked and folded to a small overbet. Too nitty?

2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/154192
Villain was a solid regular - 22/16/4 after 1500 hands. I am 90% sure that I was behind in this hand and he either had KK, AA or a set. Again - too nitty or a good laydown?

3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/154193
I was a bit lost in this hand and didn't know how to play it correctly. Villain was 26/15/4 after 34 hands. Oh and the hand history sucks on prima and on flop he just minraised and I called $7. Should I 3bet in this spot? What if he pushes? Easy call? I probably should've raised on turn. I pushed river hoping that he'll put me on a busted flush draw with a worse hand. Unfortunetaly he folded. Now I think he had KQ or KJ or maybe a flush draw.

4. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/154197
Ship it.

5. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/154205
Holla.

6. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/154206
Not an easy call. I knew that he's not playing a made flush this way. I was mainly afraid of a straight. I was thinking that he might've been pissed off by the 3rd club that came on turn and that he just wanted to close his eyes, push and see what happens. But I figured that weakr two pairs are also a part of his range and I also that that he might be holding sth like KcQx or and other random combination of KcXx. Fortunetaly I was right but I'm still not sure if it was a right call. Any thoughts?

7. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/154207
Villain was 27/9/2.2 after 66 hands. I figured that there was no way he would check the flop with a hand better than mine unless it was a nut flush so it was the only hand I was afraid off.

A World of Entertainment by kantoiki, March 04

Alright, so yesterday night once more the team of luckbox's which includes Karma, our friend who recently came back from china aka we'll call him Fob and one of my friends who i've been teaching to grind the lower limits headed over to Crown.
(Pokerdoc didn't come coz he was spending quality time with Mrs Thumb and her four daughters.)

The night was pretty standard, interesting things including Karma somehow managing to make his Aces hold up in a 4 or 5 way pot all in preflop!! How is that possible!? and the most mind boggling thing is that i had Q 10 and woulda won, result orientated degenerate that i am.

Also, pretty much the entire night i was basically getting bagged and absorbing all of it like a sponge as well as the monies along with it.
http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/9213/verbalabusejw0.jpg

So i get a phone call and sit of a few hands to get up and answer it properly only to come back 5 minutes later to find the table beefing.
Some new guy has sat down and started targetting another guy (Steven) for being slow who had been sitting there for a couple of hours. Basically on these pokerpro electronic tables 30 seconds is the time given for your action each time, and sometimes you just get a lil distracted talking.
Things soon escalated and Stephens friend got up and cracked the shits and told the new guy bla bla "come over there" ... bla bla "BELT THE SHIT OUT OF YOU".
But then good old John one of the casino supervisors came over and stopped things before they got out of hand, pity actually. I'd have put my money on Stephens friend.

Anyway so the rest of the night was kind of standard and quite tame afterwards.
Matt (the friend who is learning atm) did okay playing for about 2-3 hours and ending up in the green which tells you how soft these games are.
Everyone else including me ended up as well, so twas a pretty good night.

note: the reason i havent posted exact amounts is because:
a) I haven't actually officially started my live BR yet, still waiting for my cheque to clear.
b) Don't know exact amounts won by the others, check their blogs for more details..in this case only karma

Oh also got my ipod, and moved my fishies into a new bigger tank, which i'll get bigger plants and driftwood for soon.
Heres a current picture of it:
http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/2154/img0946li3.jpg

And i just had to out do karma in the filter department as well, so i got the canister filter one size bigger:
http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/5944/img0949kg0.jpg

The downside is karma is going to throw some fish in that will kick my current fish's ass...

Donkeys vomit chips by PokerDoc88, March 04

I played about 1.5k more hands at 25nl FR today, ended at $796 after peaking at $850 (I got sucked out on, lost a few med-sized pots.

Then I decided it was time to do some study about lungs n shit (got a test tomorrow). How ever, no study session is complete without a 6max poker table running! To my dismay (well, not really), I soon discovered I was seated at a table full of absolute moronic stations.

Key hand...this one fag Cilek had just come and sat down 4 hands ago. I get dealt K 10o in CO, raised it up and got 2 callers. Flop was 578r, I bet at it for 13bb because I sensed weakness in my opponents (I'm psychic). Fag instant calls. Turn was a K, completing the rainbow...he checked to me and I checked back, feeling suddenly suspicious and looking for a cheap showdown. On the river (a blank 2) he mashes the bet pot button (which is now at a hefty $10) and after much deliberation, I decided to call putting him on a busted straight. He showed KJ to take the pot down.

Needless to say, I was astounded and infuriated at the result of the hand. I watched him carefully, and soon realized he would limp and call ANY pre-flop raises any 2 cards. If he ever hand a hand (ie. top pair any kicker) he would mash pot button, regardless of if the pot was $2 or $15.

I decided I'd just tighten up a LOT (there were other stations and short-stacks besides him) and wait for a good moment to get some $$$ back. 30 minutes later, here is the result of my patience:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/153996

So that is always amusing. Anyway, time to try and study: may the poker gods bestow you all with fishy lagtards upon your tables as they so graciously did for me today.

going back to college... by sooon2b, March 03

Beat : I am going back to school
Brag : 11-1 girl/guy ratio
Variance : Still no idea what I want to major in

I decided to withdraw from all of my classes 1st semester of this year to take care of some personal issues and to also focus more on poker. Well, the whole dropping out thing ended up getting quite depressing after a month. I moved back home shortly after dropping out and breaking off a long-term relationship. Well, unfortunately for me, most of my friends are in school, or had jobs. I found myself sitting on my ass doing nothing all day, every day. Pretty unfullfilling.

Talked to a buddy of mine last night who is also a loser like myself, except his parents just pay for him to be a loser. Anyways, they told him to go to college or they stop spoiling him. Well, he is, and I decided what the hell, why not? I'll be living with him next year, so it should be pretty awesome. Good buddy of mine that goes there is treasurer of the "Drew Carey" frat, and will hopefully get me in there. I am really looking forward to actually doing something with my life, and putting poker on the backburner for awhile.

Being a professional online poker player(or even live) is not really a fullfilling life/lifestyle. Poker is not a career, at best, its an asset for some of us. I am really looking forward to having a career some day.

Peace

Poker First Day by AntonChan, March 03

I began playing poker in August and stopped for a couple of months after becoming frustrated from not getting anywhere.

I started up again a few days ago and will make it a challenge to myself to become a solid player. I don't know how far I want to get at but time will tell...

My bankroll is at $309 right now. I don't care about the money (or at least I try not to). I want to play at least 500 hands a day... which is enough for me now... that's an hour and a half since I only multitable 6.

There are no time limits, just solid poker with few mistakes and more intelligent reads and a lot of fucking hands.

New Month. by wolfheart, March 03

So i entered this month lovely 100$ roll because i cashed out.
Firt day was ok i played short sessions and ended +5bis.

Yesterday I i had like 2xsuckout rate so i didnt get any wins from 10nl but insted from 25nl where i played like 25 hands and eded up +2 bis. So end of the day i had 200$ roll.

Tonight i strated totally coldeced and suckouts drowned me -3bis. Until i stabed 25nl i table again and got back over 200. But then i switched to 10nl and suckouts continued and continued until it was again -4 bis. I feel pushing with overcards and nutflushdraw is totally -ev for me while 2 guys with flushdraw vs my set always hit their flushes.

After shortbreak i entered raised pot with 88 and won 2 buyins vs 444 and tptk with my 888 so it all looked good. Atm i am grinding on my tables with +3,5 bis up and drinking wine. I hope to reach to 300$ Becaue daytime is complitly difrent nighttimes on party then fishamount triples up.
