LOLOL First I will start this blog by saying that Myth you fucking missed an excellent night of drunken fun yo~ I hope it was worth getting pwned at Live Donkaments. So we went bowling after dinner at some Mexican place ( I lost the credit card roulette, soooo standard, Lyric runs like God, more on this later). So we go to bowling, and I'm like obv the best bowler there, all these euro noobs are bowling straight at the pins and I'm like LOL? Your gonna get owned boys! Wait.... So I bowl my first frame and realize ZOMG the ball doesn't curve!?! There is just so my oil and slickness on the ball that I can put infinite amounts of spin on it and it just doesnt curve!!! OMG BAD BEATS MAN!

So somehow I bowl the lowest score out of anyone the first game, trying to figure out how to shoot straight down the middle because it litterally is a fucking bad beat in the asshole parts (Yes that means Daut and his noob ass bending over and closing his eyes beats me, and Lyric's luck sacked broken thumb beats me). Team California + PCA Winner is down -$100 each after Round 1. We play a $50 per player game and Team California + PCA Winner starts running like GOD the first 5 frames. LIKE OMG LYRIC RUNS SO GOOD, HE ROLLS THE BALL AT 1MPH AND KNOCKS EM ALL DOWN YO. But in the shadows Nazgul somehow whips out his best game ever or some shit and bowls a 185 (Newb shit yo~~ see this is me on a semi-decent day in California

So we end up losing $150 each, whatever... CosMo is now down -$350 on the night before Spearmint Rhino... oh no. We get to the Rhino after a round of drinks at the bar, and we meet Daut's friend Martine23. Total baller yo~ so we get a private seating area in the back and get mad liqours and get totally taken to value city by their waiters. Then some asian chick comes over and sits on my lap. Tells me I'm cute and she likes my smile. Thanks babe, FrinkX says the same thing. But she has boobs and an ass like you wouldn't believe, and like whispered in my ear to come in the VIP back room with her. So I was like sure, lets go, then the VIP guy was like $400 bucks for an hour yo~ so I'm like uh sure yo~, and we went to a couch yo~, and she danced for like 5 mins, and then she gave me a massage for like 5 mins, then we talked for like an hour and I found out WE WENT TO THE SAME FUCKING SKOOL MAN! Now I'm not sure if this was a total hustle or what, she might really study her geography well, but fuck man, she knew everything in the Bay Area. Like, I got sooooo check-raised value stacked all-in by this chick. It was sick. So I got out of that room dropping like a lil over $450ish LMAO I'm such a fuckin fish.

So I haven't updated in about a month. I haven't been running too good, but I haven't played that much either. I am concentrating on donkaments, and I'm reading Harringtons book on NL Tournies, it's pretty interesting to be honest. So this weekend I'll play some more tournies, and hopefully cash in them. I've written about two poker leagues that I am competing in, I thought I could at least give you an update on them. I played last thursday against PokerMagazine, I went 2-2 in my HU matches, and I won my SnG.

.. i can win again!

the first winning session in weeks. playd ~1,5k hands nl25 and finished up ~3-4buyins.

1 setup(flopped big straight vs flopped flush by idiot) and 1 suckout(top2 i shove for 1 1/3 pot on turn and get called by a flushdraw which hits) for a buyin each were the only big bad hands in this session. some standart shit like losing AK pf allin vs shortstacks Ax but nuttn big.

its amazing how easy winning is again when u dont lose evrytime ur favourite. ah ya and sucked out in a 150bb pot on a 6 outer where i got my JJ overpair+gutshot in vs a limpcalled KK.

also 2 halfstacked guys gave me their stack for free after i just shoved for 5times+ pot(unraised rather low playd hands) calling with weak crap against my hit draws.

Lately a pattern has been repeating itself, run bad, big score, run bad. So after the 14K day in our next couple sessions Andrew and I were down a combined 6K. I played a hu session for a half hour and dropped 1750... it was bad man. In 10 hands against this guy I played a reraised pot with QQ where we got it in on the flop and he turned his T, and a reraised pot with A8 flop 885, obviously he gets it in with 65 and runners his straight. Sick.



I throw up my hands in frustration, leave come back a little later that night make 800 back pretty quick, end the session. Fast forward- play another session at one point I'm up like 1000, and then 15 minutes later I'm down 1000, the hell? Play another session, lose 750. I decide to stop playing cash and load up some tournies. They were better to me, I won a 1K seat for event 4 of FTOPS, and a 12K WSOP package for Andrew. Holla.

So I got up about 11:30 today (meh, had an alarm clock set up for 9am but somehow I didn't wake up), had a breakfast, watch a vid on CR, browsed some forums and then play a bit on FTP. I was 6-tabling for the most part as there were 6 huge donks spread across 6 tables so I just had to play with them. I didn't have any trouble and I felt that I was even more focused than during 4tabling and I was paying attention to every interesting pot at each table, taking lots of notes etc. I was running pretty bad with all the beats and setup. First a 3-outer on the river, then two 2-outers on turn and river, 4 outer on turn and some sick setups. Somehow I still finished up about $150. I felt like I was playing my best game for a long time, fully concentrated, making good reads and plays. Hopefully I can keep playing like this.

After the session I went to buy my favorite kebab - even though I have one on the corner I still decided to go to the one that is like 15mins far from my house. It's just fkin delicious and just £2,50. So I ate my kebab while watching "Epic Movie" which is a Scary Move-alike comedy. Nothing special but I laughed a few times. I had a bad headache in the evening so I decided not to play anymore and talked to my friend from Poland a bit. I really miss my friends again. But I'm coming back there for like 3,5 months during summer so that's great.

I also studied a bit for the IELTS and I'm doing better. I was mostly afraid of the reading part as there's not much time during it plus I have problems with concentration (how can I get Adderall in Poland? anyone? I don't think I've got ADHD so I can't get it from my doctor). But today I did 2 sample reading tests and I scored 35/40 in one and 36/40 in the other so it's pretty awesome. Ok, enough for now. So I woke up on Day 2 super hung over at 4pm. My sleep is totally screwed now. So after I wake up and take a shower me and Myth went to Ceasars Palace to play some 1-3 NL (they have a good game with a $500 max buyin). So I decide not to sit at Myth's table, and found my own table which was just loaded with weak/tight total passive nits. It was terrible... probably the most boring 5 hours of poker ever? It was very variance free session for the most part, as I played one big $200 pot w/ AK vs JJ. Everything else was just small pots chipping up. At the end of the session I was up $405.

Daut, Lyric, and Myth

So later that night we met up with Daut to goto PF Chang's. He was down to 28k in chips after Day 1 of the tournament. We ate lots of good chinese food, and basically decided to take a chill night as we went back to the hotel and crashed. I woke up today at 1pm as Daut came back up to the room and told me he went busto to Kido Pham when Pham woke up with QQ on the button and Daut had AQs in the big blind. BodogAri just came in here and informed us he was at 85k in chips, but is at a tough table with David Grey, two other tough pros, and ZeeJustin who is just a total monster.

No, just kidding. This blog will be whatever pops into my head that is somewhat poker-related. I'll start by copy-pasting my post in the "introduce yourself" thread and adding on a little since I didn't want to make that post too bloated.

My name is Brian and I was radar14 on TL.net. I live in California, but it looks like I'm about to go to the East Coast for med school. I was initially interested in all the poker discussions at TL, but I never really got into it.

My friend got me a free $100 on partypoker back in 2004 and I played full ring limit 0.25/0.50 for a while. Hit a high of like $350 and then made the brutal mistake of saying "I'll buy myself an Ipod when I hit 500." Obviously I halved my bankroll soon thereafter and stopped playing after I hit about $200.

I later tried to cash out $150 by check, which Party NEVER mailed me. When I called them about it, they said it was already cashed and there was nothing they could do. Yeah, fuck you Party. I got the remaining money I had up to like $100 and then got bored (and distrustful).

So after graduating and applying a lot of 2006, I went to Vegas for New years where I played 1/2 NL at the Bellagio. That got the poker itch off and running again. I deposited $50 at PS mid-January and eventually transferred over the $100 I had at Party. Grinded the pennies for a while and moved over to FTP for 10NL and rakeback. I'm now at 50NL 6-max with about $1400, helped out by the Sunday Million seat I luckboxed into.

Where I'm at, pokerwise:

I have been binging on strategy posts/threads/articles/books everywhere. I think NLHETAP is definitely a good book to get a general overview of the game, but the strategy at 2+2 and LP are far better for the specifics of the online game.

I've discovered PT and PAHUD and have been using them extensively. Like almost everyone else here, my game is "TAG in early position, LAG in late" and my stats are usually around 20/12/3. I hope my ABC game will be decent soon.

I'm looking forward to moving to higher stakes, obviously for the money, but also to start making some more advanced plays that simply aren't worth it at the microstakes. Stuff like 3-betting light pf, finding profitable 2nd barrels bluffs, semi-bluffing with fake draws, etc.

Well I said I wouldn't be playing this week but I felt like crap today and stayed home from school. Played a couple hours of the hu tables (mostly 2/4 some 3/6) on FTP played really well and had some fishy opponents ended up 2100.

only 17 hands on the guy but he was playing 70.6/58.8/2.5 The question is not "can I fold here?" because the answer is clearly no, but is it better to check to try to induce the bet that will likely come and then shove over him or lead out. If I lead and the turn comes as a blank, what's my plan? I guess I probably have to shove since if I check and he pushes I'd be inclined to call anyways.

I ended up leaving pretty soon after this hand, he tended to call my 3-bets with a pretty standard frequency, saw him call with 89 like 15 hands before and called the flop when he hit his top pair and checked through the hand. I felt really lost in this hand... flop is standard, turn I improve and there is a possibility I have the best hand. If I bet the turn he's probably not calling me with worse but he could definitely fold better, if I check and he bets it puts me in a really tough spot, I think I would fold and be really frustrated... How would you guys play it?

Let me tell a my history. Its not very entertaining, but its something i wrote for myself.

My history
September 25th 2006 got 75 bux for free, partypoker – lost it all due to being crap
Tuesday October 17 2006 won $150 rookie freeroll, received $31.63. Started grinding 0.02/0.04 ($5NL)
Thursday November 9 2006 got up to $200 dollars – moved up to .05/0.1 ($10NL)

December got up to like 250 bux, got sick of grinding .05/0.10

and decided to move up to 0.10/0.25, 6 max instead of 10 max cos 10 max is fucken gay.

Lost some money, won some back, went up and down for a while

and Now im sitting on 450 bux. Still underrolled to play current advisable limits
but i feel like im beating it. I even tried 0.25/0.50 and didnt go too bad (well at first i lost two buyins which is 100 bux, 50 each) but after i tried again and didnt do too bad.

Wed Dec 20 – tilted away all 450 bux down to 140 bux, at 50NL (yeah was stupid enough to play on it). So got scared and went back to NL10 hoping to rebuild my stack to 500 before trying to move up to 0.10/0.25 - yes I need 20 (25*20 = 500) buyins to move to the next level

Ok so here I am, with 502.35 dollars on Tuesday 6th February. So ive grinded up my way too my goal 500!!! Yeah baby! Last 30 bux I transferred from pokerstars account where I had 77 bux, cos I finished 2nd in a tournament, thanks to Kurt for helping me out with some moneyz on pokerstars so that I could set up transfers between party poker, neteller and pokerstars! Also im doing 6max NL25 – so a transfer from NL10 to NL25 and at the same time from 10max to 6max wooooooo! GL TO ME!

Another update - February 23rd Friday. The first day at NL25 I somehow managed to get up to 620 bux in very few hands. Over the next few days it wasn’t so good tho, as I started loosing all those moneys. In a week or so I went down to like 280 if I remember correctly. Didn’t practice the normal BR rules to move down to NL10 when loose 2 buyins. Cos NL10 is sooooooo boring. Instead with about left over 280 I decided to give a shot to NL50 (0.25/0.50) playing veeeery carefully I didn’t loose! I won and soon enough I climbed back up to 500 bux. And then to 600. the I I had a weeks break due to GoldCoast holiday. When I got back (couple days ago) I played and lost 150 bux on NL50 so I was back down to 450. I tried NL50 again but it just seemed too scary for me and I decided to move all my moneyz to Absolute Poker – where I get 30% rakeback. So using neteller I transferred the moneyz into AP and today I had my first session at NL25 which is actually NL50 as for some reason u can buy in for 200bb in AP. So todays session I made 50 bux so back to 500 dollars. Which is proper roll for NL25. Also im starting uni on Monday, which blows majorly – so I will have less time playing. And I also want to keep my job for spare moneyz. And I also have soccer, indoor and outdoor starting soon. And hanging out with friends. Hmmm… we’ll see how ill manage.

April 23rd 2007 – Lol what a coincidence that ive decided to update my blog exactly after 2 months since last update. Let me tell u these last few months didn’t go according to plan, and ive been up n down with NL25, but now im at $720, I have also got pockertracker – amazing program which u can not do without. And an add-on Poker Ace HUD which is also awesome. Now I think I can steadily beat NL25 and will start going up in my BR.

Hands of Note:

I finally got back home to my appartment yesterday. Spent a week snowboarding in italy which was extremely awesome. After that Ive been home at my folks playing on my kid brothers computer. Pretty anoying to not have pokertracker and only one monitor so Im glad that Im finally back.

Due to me being away and doing various baller stuff I havent played a whole lot at all this month. I dont really care though since the little poker ive played has gone really really good. I took a shot at 2knl a couple of days back and I just completely skyrocketed up, running sick good and destroying the game. Im proud to say that I was playing my absolutely best poker, it was an incredible rush to be satisfied with almost all the hands I played.

I was suprised by the poor quality of many of the players but Im going to hold of on my judgement until after my heater is over.

Im now pretty well rolled for 2knl but I believe its impossible, atleast for me, to play 2knl exclusively. There are simply just not enough games to be able to game select well so I will have to play a mix of 5/10 and 10/20.

Hello all . I want to tell you my f..ing story.I play pokerstars 2 month i deposite 100 $ and make up 600$ in two weeks 4 table 0.25-0.50$.Then i hade a break abot 5 days. After break i go 1-2$ no limit 2 tables and loose all in 3 hours.1 week later i make second deposit 500$ and make 1400$ 4 table 1-2 in 2-3 hours.And loose all next day 3-6$ 2 table playing.Now i am shoked it was all my money. And i don't know what shell i do. Plz help me...-(
