April Final stats by Jamie217, May 01

All in all I wasnt too impressed with my april...I did not play as many hands as I would have liked and I just felt like I wasnt focused the whole month...In 200nl I played like shit for the most part and didnt run too well either...I did own FTP HU cash running at like 28PT BB in 2/3k hands. Small smaple size obv but still good moniesss. So in cash games I ended up about 2k which is not that great.. I played in maybe 2/3 donkaments and FTd 2 of them so I was up about 2500 in MTTs.Turbo SnGs I played like shit in the beginning of April but played very well towards the end but I think I was down a little overall. So all in all a decent month, prob just over 4k/ But I am looking to have a huge May and hopefully get 25/30k hands of 200nl in as well.

http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/8647/aprilgraphms4.png

As you can see the graph is pretty ugly lol..and I was not pleased at all that I played like 16k hands in 200nl for 600$ profits -_-...Def reeady for a huge Mayy

GL peace

Review: April, 2007 [red](118.05)[/red] by KingKory, May 01

Monthly Summary:

http://www.coryland.net/uploads/0407reviewchart.jpg

http://www.coryland.net/uploads/0407reviewstats.jpg

Commentary:

Well a pretty shitty April, that's for sure.

Started the month in the red, and could never quite come out of it. But I still feel like I'm playing decently, so...I don't know.

Down $118 in cash games, but the few random donkaments I play when I have some time to kill (or am stoned/drunk) have brought my overall BR back to the green

http://www.coryland.net/uploads/0407tourneyreview.jpg

A long overdue jump to 50NL near the end of the month (although -$ so far) has helped me with my confidence a bit in that I don't really fear anyone I sit down against. In fact, I begin to spew when I get a bit overconfident, and my ballsack gets a bit too big for my underoos.

Anyhow,

Goals for May:

- Stop 2nd barreling just for the fuck of it.
- YOU DON'T NEED TO C-BET 110% OF THE TIME

Free Lessons by capaneo, May 01

So as some of you guys know I'm giving lessons for free to those who requested. I've already did sessions with two players and I think I was able to help them out a little. The way it works out is that I get online and he would watch my desktop and I play some tables and I keep constantly tryin to explain to him what I think of the "dynamics" of the table.(thanks to pokerintheface for that word). Some people that Ive accepted to help them out(and are from columbia) are tryin to get a mike for two weeks now. Its kinda fun cause I think doing this will somehow help my own game + its always fun to play lower limits just to kill time.

Another news is that I'm done with school!!! And I passed my math(diffrential Equations)class!! I actually got a B+ in it. Just to give u an idea of how fucked up this course was I'll let u guys know that the average of the class was %45!!! And u can find my final exam with solutions HERE in case you are feeling like chalanging your math skills!

BTW if u also wanna take up on the free lessons offer just give me a PM and I'll try my best to put you on the list

April by Gawuss, May 01

In my last post I was whining about how I was running bad.. Actually it hasn't changed but I thought a lil bit and I think I have to deal with it. It's normal at these stakes to be down few buyins in few k hands and I shouldn't bitch about how I'm running soooo bad. But damn it really piss me off cause I just can't have a winning day for more than a buy-in up.I hope it'll change soon and I'll be able to win some BIs again. Here is the graph for April + today:

Tickling the Trout by kantoiki, May 01

Something that happened recently that could be a humourous story:
So two of my friends and I were sitting around at QV (shopping mall thingy) food court eating, talking and generally wasting time when somehow the conversation steers towards masturbation.
For interests sake this is also called:

5 digit disco
Auditioning the hand puppet
Left hand liftoff
Strangling Pete
Milking the cock
Stroking Gandalf's beard
Bash the Bishop/Beat the Bishop
Painting the ceiling
Pat the porpoise
Shaking white coconuts from the veiny tree
Jerkin' the Gherkin
Batter the sausage
Beat your beef

I got most of the above from Wiki
and i have to say twas a funny read. Let me know which ones were your favourite.

Anyway so yeah we were sitting there having this conversation about masturbation and of course it naturally steers to how often, and then how long we'd gone for without "shaking hands with the guv'nor of love".
Then the "Master of your domain" was brought up, for those ignorant of this term get educated, go watch Seinfield. In short it was an episode where the characters have a bet on who has the most control and can go the longest without "polishing the pole".
So with the prospect of a possible contest we had no choice, all 3 of us decided to take the challenge.
Rules were quite simple:

-Not allowed to ejaculate.
-Bet lasts for a month, afterwhich an extension can be discussed if neccessary at our discretion.
-Must inform others of of loss within the hour

To put something of value onto it we decreed that the losers take the winner out for a night of drinking and entertainment, not that we needed anything since the mere thought of challenging and becoming the true Master of he's domain was enough.

So there started the start of what would prove to be a short trip for some and a long tedious journey for others.

We had our first loss about 2 weeks into the challenge.

His SMS to both of us were quite hilarious, the first informing us of his defeat:

"Lol. Ive had enuf. Its just u two now. Good luck. Haha"

and the second a extract of a star sign prediction in a newspaper:

"Haha. My star sign 2day: "A final burst of adrenalin hits as Mars exits. And with a rush of blood 2 the head u quickly finish a project or make an important lifestyle decision. Expansion is the theme, but limited resources hinder u"

Pretty coincidental, although the write probably didnt have "waxing one's carrot" in mind.

Our fellow soldier had a lapse in his will to push on and "pumped his gas at the self-service island" leaving only 2 of us to duke it out.

I have to say that there were nights where you really just sat there thinking, "hrmm you know what would be nice right now?" before remembering the bet and fighting on against the ever rising tide.
My friend would tell me how he was avoiding those nights by spending every night out with friends and occupied someway or another and i tried to do the same.

Some interesting things that we thought would happen or were told would happen included:
"its sick and unnatural, you'll get all aggressive"
"you'll break out in pimples"
"probably going to get wet dreams"
"wake up in the mornings with morning glories all the time"

The days were okay, with me becoming increasingly aware of how attractive the opposite sex were and the nights were long and arduous.
I was suddenly watching Poker after Dark every night as terrible as that show is and I even opted to trolling on youtube for comedy that would take my mind off things.

From my friends point of view I've included some of his quotes that encapsulate his experience:
"Never skipped Uni"
"Along time was a no no"
"My beat off attemps as in going half way or more..."
"Desperate, and pride was the only thing that held it in"
"Friends were faggots and putting on semi-porno stuff"

So the last week was rounding up and the thought of salvation by "Wango Tango" and possible victory pulled me through some difficult nights.

Unfortunately, my friend made it through as well and on the last night we had a conversation that went something along the lines of:
Him: Wait is the bet gone at 12?
Me: Uh, I don't know.
Me: I'm not sure
Me: One more month would hurt
Him: You want to just call it a tie?

No prizes for guessing my response.

An afterthought thats disturbing though is knowing that my when both of my friends whacked off, and vice versa i presume.

The conclusion of the bet i'll keep to myself and for those who really with for me to share your welcome to ask and i'll reply so those who actually want to know can just read the comments.
This way not everyone is subjected to what must surely be at least mildly disgusting by now.

So the end result was a tie between my friend which wasn't to bad and twas an errr i guess interesting experience. Anyway I hope you liked reading this more than I enjoyed the month and if you didn't well you can always go play your skin flute.

Enjoy!

Night session (8.65) by KingKory, May 01

May 1st, 2007

Today's summary:

http://www.coryland.net/uploads/pb050107.jpg

Commentary:

Because of some family health issues, I was unable to play this morning, but was able to get a solid session in last night.

Instead of 1 hour of 6-tables, I played 2.22 hours of 4-tables. I gotta say, I didn't really notice the difference from 6 to 4 tables :/ I guess I was able to pick up a couple more reads though, but I don't think they were worth the amount of extra time I put in. I dunno.

I was able to stack 2 people, and my biggest loser was for 40BB's, yet I'm only up $9 for the session... I'm smelling a leak somewhere.

Anyhow, onto the hands.

Top 3 winners:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184348 I heard rumors that this guy was a nit. I was very surprised at the showdown.

Top 3 losers

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184564 Leak?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184565 Leak? I will randomly try to pull this kind of shit during a session.

Hands of Note:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184566 Okay spot to 2-barrel?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184567 Fold?

April Review and May Preview by tachyonweb, May 01

April was a mixed bag for me. I’ve been on a heater, running at 10 PTBB/100 at 50 NL. But I only played 8000 (!) hands. A lot of it was just a lack of time, but it is kind of embarrassing considering some people can do that in a day. As for my play during those hands, I’d give myself a B. There are still spots where I am pretty confused, and I know my lines can be overly passive in spots I consider to be marginal. I feel confident in most of my play, but I can’t help but think what a great player could have done with the exact same 8000 hands.

My goals for May: I want to play at least 15k hands and move up to 100NL when my bankroll hits 2500. That’ll take a pretty good month, but it’d be great to be there by the time I leave my job at the end of May.

I’m also considering joining CardRunners because it just sounds like it will be extremely helpful, especially if I manage to get to the mid stakes. It’s also been well-reviewed by a number of people here at LP. But I’m indecisive as hell, so I’d like some more feedback/reinforcement. If you have CR, is it worth it? It has gotten rather expensive…might it be more cost-effective to just become a first level member and buy the videos separately?

Also, does anyone know a site that sells FTP hand histories? I’m at the point where I’d rather pay a small amount for complete histories and not have to bother with datamining.

That is all. Here's to a good month.

Worst day ever! by DustySwedeDude, May 01

Or something, I've played kinda bad and after those hands I got in the beginning of the video I havn't got a decent hand that wasn't a setup. Down like 750 USD or something for the day. It's probably kinda good too because I've run a little bit too hot for a while and I might get a big head. I think I'll try to get my PFR down to 27ish or something now because I might play just a few to many hands right now. Also, I should probably not play when I'm tired. It's never a good idea.

lol omahaments by SneakrFreakr, May 01

So yesterday in the evevning I was pretty tired and didn't want to play no-limit holdem cash games. Instead I just felt like goofing around, playing some donkaments or sth like that. But I decided to give pot-limit omaha a go. There were some nl10 tables on FTP but I figured nl25 will be better and I wouldn't be bothered much even if I lost like 4 buyins. It was the first time I actually played omaha (play money doesn't count) except for the couple of times I played it in a mixed live cash game (no-limit holdem + pot-limit omaha) but I was usually just folding as I didn't want to get involved in awkward spots with no idea where I'm at. I know the rules and I'm aware of some very basic concepts like low flushes usually no good, underfullhouses, bottom set might be not good, 2 pairs are usually mediocre etc etc. But I had no idea about the betting patterns and how to play different spots. But I think I wasn't that awful and I made 4 buyins ($100) in like 2 hours or so of 2tabling so it feld pretty good. I've noticed that it's pretty easy to get people off the hand with constant agression. In the end they started playing back at me a lot but I guess it's normal. I might get involved more into omaha if I'll become a nl200 or nl400 regular in holdem.

Here are some hands so if anyone plays omaha I'd like to hear some comments on certain hands and my general play:

1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184484
I guess it's not standard? But this guy was bluffing a lot so I thought there's a good chance I'm ahead.

2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184486
Ship it.

3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184487

4. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184489
Meh, I thought he's got like AAKQ or sth and I can get him to fold his overpair. But sucking out was good too.

5. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184493
This guy was really active so I thought that I'm either ahead with my 2 pairs and if not I still have a flush draw.

6. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184494
Not sure but I think I was bluffing here.

7. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184496
Now I think it was a very bad call in omaha. Should've folded.

I also had some other fun hands that I forgot to save but whatever.

Now I'm going to study for ~3 hours or so I'll try to do the whole sample IELTS test (listening, reading, writting and than I'll talk to myself for 15 mins). In the evening I'm going to some birthday party (dinner at a posh restaurant and some clubbing later) but I think I'll don't get pissed and get home early as I want to calm down a bit until the exam. I'm not sure if I'll be able to play today, probably not (unless b-day will suck and I'll get home very early). But a one day break will be good.

April Summary by trukpoker, May 01

This is my first blog entry, i'll give some personal details later for now ill just explain my month.

Aprils been pretty good, I think im playign way to tight, though at the limits im playing i think it is the best strategy. I dont really wanna loosen up much more till i get to some higher limits.

I'm focusing on improving my game alot, but theres so many leaks its hard to know where to start. I pay ppl off to much on their draws and often dont bet enough to stop them drawing to them. It also seems playing AJo and KQo from utg is a losing play. It's a tough hand to play OOP verse a few opponents. I have been raising any pp from all positions and i dont think im con betting it enough on flop verse 2 opponents. I always bet verse 1 but not enough verse 2. So heres my results, For nl25
http://img467.imageshack.us/img467/1121/april25nldf3.jpg

And Nl 50
http://img459.imageshack.us/img459/5345/april50nldl1.jpg

Starting to get into tourneys again this month, first ill read the 3 harrington books i bought 4 months ago and am yet to start readn them. I got a decent finish in april taking 2nd in the 3 rebuy on absolute.

A Hero Awakens by fira, May 01

Jade and I have some art project that is due tomorrow. We finish some of it but spend the rest of the night trying to capture a rat. We capture it for a while (it's fucking tiny) but it escapes and runs away. We see two cats, a blue one and a punk one, who look very similar to pokemon, take out the trash. The next day, the very first project presented was hardcore pro, with like peter pan rising out of flames, saving some chick. The project was to promote an anti-fire product or some bullshit.

It's kinda low quality because I fail at computerz but at least I ran at 45/40/3.6 and I made a few nice moves. I fucked up some stuff too, but whatever. Hope you'll enjoy it and if you guys like it I'll make a few more. Also, I'm still hungover so my voice was fucked up.

Fitting end to April... by RAHZero, May 01

Well, the last day of April was by far the craziest day of poker I've played to date. Started off by running sick hot, going up +$950ish in like 450 hands. Was just getting hit in the face with the deck, every move was working, etc. Then ran into a brick wall, lost a huge pot against a donk with TPTK against his slowplayed aces, lost with AK that flopped TPTK against a flopped flush draw that hit on the turn, which also gave me the nut flush draw, and was up about $400. Took a break, came back, and played a short crappy session. Nothing was hitting, ran KK into AA, had a guy on my buddy list flop quads on me, and by the time it was over, was down $200ish on the day. Finished up with another session after midnight, and that went much better. Played some of my best poker of the month, ran well, and kept raking in the pots. Final totals were +$908.50 in 2,152 hands. Final April stats and graph to come.

back to bloggin' by Chris_55555, May 01

Well after completely and randomly stopping with the blog I've decided to start it up again.

April was pretty much crappy due to some unsuccessful 25/50 shots. My BR is way to small to be playing 25/50 and I payed for it.

Here are my April stats

http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/2474/aprilstatsfx3.png

Also i have a semi-legit reason for so little hands, and that being I had finals, which are over now

Summer has arrived and no more excuses, it's time for me to put in some hands, my goal for May is $40,000+

Hopefully I'll be updating this frequently

Cheers,
Chris
