yawn by rnbsalsa88, April 30

So I'm deep in this bracelet race (9 left pays two 2K packages), pretty deep in a main event qualifier- 34 left pays to 2, deepish in a 20r and earlyish in a 10r, and my mom wanted me to stop playing. She sent down her enforcer so I had to find a sub for me. Andrew said he was going to be around but had tons of homework and couldn't do it. So I ask my friend Mike to hop on.

I check the account in the morning, fuck... he busted all four. Ah well- I head to work. I call Andrew after work and he's like "oh sucks that he busted but someone IM'ed me and said congrats on the seat" so he checks his e-mail and bam! congrats on winning your 3rd bracelet race. Why thank you FTP.

So I sign onto aim and Mike's on.. "hey man, nice win" "don't you mean wins?" "wait.... you won a wsop seat? <3<3<3"

Update by Unforgiven_ve, April 30

well, after being crushing 25NL and having a nice BR for 50nL some time ago, i hited a really ugly downsing (losing half my BR at25NL 600$ ++)and now im stuck at 10NL again whit a 370$ BR, it seems like i cannot win anymore, i lose every allin PF, my AA-KK-QQ gets crushed by all type of hands like 22++, AKo, 72o etc etc and when they hold is vs a shorstack whit 10-20BB,or everybody fold, this is getting very frustrating

this type of hand were dealed to me today exactly 3 times, and im not kiding or exaggerating, all my aces got crushed.

Monday Donkaments by JonnyCosMo, April 30

So since Monday's haven't been very profitable for me at all in the past 3 months (you guys should probably check your PokerTracker and see if this is your trend as well) I've decided that I'd take the day off to play some tournaments and satellites. Why you ask? I dont know... I was inspired and last night I had a dream... it looked something like this:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/SundayMilDream.JPG

How sweet would that be? Ok now back to reality. I'm playing the $150+12 Nightly Tournament along with the $3+.30 Rebuy and the $25+2 $25k Gtd. with the 3k stacks to start. If I do good in one of em I'll make another blog post later tonight.

PS: You guys should bug Daut to post what he really wants about Vegas and say fuck it to what Kathy Daut (su madre) has to think about it. Word!

ABC Poker by DarkMigore, April 30

In the last two days i've been trying to learn more about poker and stuff, but it didn't worked out very well. I just win money when i play the ABC poker. I'll wait till i get to NL25 and start to play 6max tables and try to improve more.

It's hard to pass through 140. When I come near that i start to get some bad beats. Like those:

My 1st week on LP by MayZerG, April 30

My 1st month playing cash games seriously, and its been a week after finally registering with LP.net and getting involved in the community and actually posting.

http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/5056/updatedx3.jpg
http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/9724/graphvt1.jpg

Quite a good week for a micro player, i decided that SitnGo's had too much variance for me to make a good profit on it after a year of playing, so i decided to focus on my cash game with starting advice and tutoring from ToTMidiaN.

Some of my good hands of the week...

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/184151 <--- (VERY LUCKY) trips vs FH, i managed to suckout.

I'd like to say thanks to: nolan, lolgiraffe, hoolz, doomer, milkman, jonnycosmo, rainkhan, xelin and anyone i've missed for helping me on Ventrillo by discussing certain plays/situations when you've had the time. All advice recieved has been greatly appreciated.

aprilaments and stuff by SneakrFreakr, April 30

So April is over. The month started pretty bad, I was playing bad, had no discipline, running bad etc. Later on I've tightened up my ass and decided to really focus on my game. Started watching more vids, posting hands, browsing forums, analysing hands etc. And most importantly - I was playing way more solid. Full focus during session etc. I played about 30k hands during the month and I didn't play for the first few days and I've been 4-5 tabling so it's not bad. But in May I want to put more hands but it's not gonna be easy as I have my exam on 5th May so I gotta study a bit. Then in the end of the month my best friend from Poland is coming so we're probably gonna party a lot etc. But I'm aiming at 40k hands, 4 tabling only probably.

I'm not sure how much I made this month as my PT is a bit fked after reinstalling my windows. But together with rakeback it was about 1,5-2k which is not bad considering how much I spew at the beginning of the month. I hope that May is gonna my best month ever and I think it should be easily achievable. I'll be playing loads, as I'll have nothing else to do. Also my roll is now about 6,3k (like $300 more to come from rakeback on FTP but on 15th May) so I'm gonna play nl100 till my exam and then move up to nl200. I'll start playing 2-3 tables for the first day or two, just to get a feel. Shouldn't be much of a difference. I need to remember to play the same game I played at nl100. Last time I tried to move up I was thinking the level of play would increase a lot and was playing too fancy, giving too much respect to my opponents etc. Hopefully it's not gonna be the same this month. I don't have any financial goals but I think I might be able to pull about 4-5k together with rakeback. We'll see how it goes. I also want to start browsing more forums and posting, as there's a lot of great advice available and it would be stupid not to take advantage of it.

Ok enough for now. This post might be a bit chaotic but I don't feel like re-reading and editting it. Holla

Poker Report for vegas by Daut, April 30

So I'll just keep this entry to the poker happenings last week.

WPT CHAMPIONSHIP

The only recognizable person at my table day 1 was Ari (sick bad luck getting the guy im backing at my table).

The blinds started off at 50/100 and we had 50k starting stacks. I decided I was going to play almost every hand with merit this level because we were so deep and I was sure I was the best player at the table deepstacked.

The first pot worth noting came up about 3 rounds in. I had been raising/playing a ton of hands and my stack was about the same as it started the tournament. a player limped in middle position, i had AJo in the cutoff and raised to 450. folded back to him and he limp reraised to 1200. I called.

flop came k53 rainbow and he made this disgusted face and insta checked. i read this as extreme strength coming from this particular player so I checked behind figuring he probably had KK. turn came a T putting 2 hearts on board. he bet 750.

now, the pot was about 2600 and he only bet 750. I had a gutshot and I also had the Ah in my hand. I decided to call getting over 4:1 with position and my gutshot and I would be bluffing on a heart river.

The river came the Qh, and he bet 1200. i thought for a little and decided to raise to 5k. if I didnt hit my straight I probably would have raised a bit bigger on the river to try and push him off but I decided to try and get as much value as possible. he tanked 1-2 minutes and finally called, and then threw a mini fit when he saw my straight and turned up AK (a lot weaker than what I had actually put him on).

A few rounds later I rivered a boat with 76 on an A7726 board, and bet 10k on the river, was called by a guy who stood up and screamed AH FUCK BAD BEAT. im guessing he had a 7 with a better kicker and I rivered him.

I finished off the level playing a ton of hands and having my stack stay pretty much around 67-70k.

After the break, the blinds were 100/200 and I continued to try and play a lot of pots. However, I quickly realized that I was getting 0 respect. i fired 2 barrels with a nut flush draw in position and was called down by bottom pair, and I also had a lot of other bluffs snapped off. I decided to tighten up and wait for some better hands. I didnt really get any during this level and my stack dipped to 55k due to my called bluffs.

When 100/200/25 ante started, I finally picked up a hand with KK utg. I raised to 700, it folded to button who made it 2200, and then the big blind (who was the same player i "bad beat" on the river earlier) shoved for 35k. I gave him this look like WTF IS THIS, thought a few seconds and folded. the button was like wow, and folded QQ face up. the big blind obv had AA and made some comment that he didnt want the flop to come K or Q and have a difficult spot oop. terrible nitty old man, nice job wasting the best setup hand of all time.

It wasnt really a difficult fold, pretty much the easiest KK preflop fold I've ever had. It was a little frustrating to finally get a real hand and have it wasted though.

A round later, the guy who reraised to 2200 and folded QQ face up made it 700 in mp, got called in one spot and I called on the button with J8hh. The flop came QJ9 with 1 heart and the pf raiser bet 1100. mp folded, i called, and then the dealer let me know that it wasnt 1100, but it was 2100. now its time for a rant.

THE FUCKING 500 AND 1K CHIPS IN THIS TOURNAMENT WERE BASICALLY THE SAME COLOR. one was light brown and the other was dark orange. if you were sitting across the table from a bettor and the light wasnt right you really couldnt tell the difference between the two chips. It fucked me over a few times here and there.

since i already put 1100 out there i decided to throw the other 1k out there. the turn came a heart and he bet out 3500. he seemed fairly tag, but on the tight side and i contemplated raising here, but decided the likelihood he had a set and the combined possibility that he wouldnt fold AA/KK was too high that I shouldnt raise, so I flat called again. River blanked, he bet 6k and i folded. I sort of wish i made a play on the turn or river in this hand, but I feel he very likely had a set because he seemed very very tight.

On the last hand of the level, i got dealt QQ utg, raised to 700 and got 3 calls. flop came 235 with 2 clubs and 1 diamond. the bb (same old guy that overbet shoved AA) led out 1100, i made it 3k with 2 players left behind, they both folded and the old man thought for a little and shoved for 30k. I felt like it was highly likely he was semibluffing, but since he already overbet shoved the nuts and seemed really tight, I thought sets made up enough of his range to fold here. I folded and he showed 34dd, which I would be basically 50% vs because of his backdoor flush draw. Flat calling and jamming turn is probably ok, but i didnt like the thought of playing a multiway pot to this turn.

I then lost a pretty big pot in the 200/400/50a level. I raised utg to 1200 with 88, got 3 calls, and a shortstack shoved for 10k more. I got the feeling from looking at him that he didnt want a call and the players behind me seemed pretty weak so i flat called. everyone folded and he actually had AK, which is way stronger than I expected from him. he made a straight and i lost about 25% of my stack.

Nothing else important happened the rest of the day besides me check raise bluffing this total fish on the turn and him waking up with KK. another 12k down the drain.

On the last hand of the day i folded KJ on a J88 flop to a guy who ended up showing 86. i finished the day at 28k and was pretty disappointed that I couldnt capitalize on my easy table and crazy image. At least I still had 35bb left for the start of the next day.

On day 2 i had a much worse table. play2kill was seated directly to my left, and I also had thor hansen and a few guys i had recognized from past WPT final tables. I won a few pots and lost a few pots early and my stack basically stayed the same for my bustout hand, which I will say again with my analysis.

kido pham (who is crazy) open raised the button to 3k at 400/800. I had AQdd in the big blind with 28k. I decided to raise, and made it 10k, he shoved and I called. I think hes raising the button close to 100% of the time here, but, since I made it 10k over his raise, i am basically committing myself against a shove, so I essentially shoved for 9x his bet. I much much would have preferred if i had made it 8k and then still called a shove (cause hes crazy), but at least this way I wouldnt have committed myself.

Overall I think I played well, but I think I should have a) totally given up on bluffing after the first level, b) been just as loose but less aggressive in the first level to help maintain a better image and c) played the last hand a little smarter.

Anyway, after that I found a series of wsop circuit events at Caesar's which is right next door to the bellagio. i played in 3 of them, a 500, a 1k and a 1500. I got rather deep in the 500 but bubbled with top 2 vs a flush draw, which I got pretty mad about (so hilarious that I got upset) because it was a big pot and I would have had a good chance to make a final table and pick up POY points. oh well whatever. got busted from the other tourneys in standard ways (squeezed into aces, lost top pair vs a flush draw)

as for cash games, I didnt play much live. i played about an hour of 50/100 7stud to help me gear up for the wsop stud events (which I plan on definitely playing) and I came out up 800 and felt like I was much better than my opponents. i am very excited for the wsop stud events because I feel like my ability in that game is close to my skill in NL.

ill post some trip adventures when i get back to school.

Aprils is a month of love by hansen jr., April 30

So my downswing actually brought something good - im not a spewtard anymore. I feel like im controlling my lag game in a much better way. I'm not a spewtard anymore. So lately I've been running better and after I started playing round the 20th april and managed to sustain a 6,3bb/100 at nl400-1000 games on party over 22k hands. And the break I was taking last week didn't last that long since I started feeling better pretty fast

So April was a good month after my break. Managed to win $18k in 10 days (22,8k hands).

It's easy by PetrBlaha, April 30

@ NL25. After tightening up, as I stated at previous entry NL25 6max became real joke.

Today I've lost in those "situations"
- Set over set
- KK vs AA
- 66 on 683 board allin vs 89 turn 8 river 9

and still it looks like this

April. by anon, April 30

It started very nice i have won like 2k in first few days, when usuall shit hit me again. During 3-9th of April i lost 20bi, was very sad about this, but i put crazy hours and managed to get it all back. So in 28th i was very happy finally having green number on my PT. But i was happy too early, because there were 2 more days to go. On 29th i lost 1000$ even thou i think i played the best poker during this month, and today i came motivated to get my green numbers again, but luck was not my side. I started off session lossing a set up. I had 99 on AA9 flop, turn came 3 and he had A3 in raised pot. Then i lost to shorty's suckout and that emmediatly put me on tilt. I was mad already but still played decently then i lost a hand with combo draw and to some random shit. So another day 1000$. Lossing 10bi in 2 days seemed to be. But not to me. I am so fucking tired of this game. Past monthes all i was doing is hitting downsings and recovering nothing more. I feel so shitty now that during the last month of the day i am down 2K for month. Well i might be not a very good player, i agree, but still i capable of beating 200nl just i run so fuckin bad. Those set ups and suckouts are just killing me. It's so disappointing to put on avarage 8hours a day of playing poker and be still down. Now i have a lot of things undone, stuff for university and other shit just because i wanted to recover on poker, but didn't manage to. I feel that this can't keep going on like this, i can't handle anymore. Poker ruins my mood and motivation for doing anything else besides poker. I really don't know what i am going to do next but i need some changes, this shit is just making me crazy. I wish those golden days would come back where i was able to win 4-6K $ per month without putting too much effort. Poker pissed me of lately.
Well i am still happy that i found this game, i have cashed out like 20K$ during past half year. I still have like 17K$ which i saved for the flat, but now i am stuck and in need of some changes. This can't keep going on.
Few days ago i was offered by my dad to invest all my savings in some bussiness, and i am thinking about doing that cuz i don't feel like winning anymore anything on poker, those past month i have been hoping to fully recoverd but didn't manage to.
Thanks for reading my lame blog and bye.
oh and in the morning i got my rake back on ub and decide to give a shot at 50nl and yet i managed to lose 200$. That was some donk fest and i kept getting sucked out my backdoor flushes and straith made by underpairs, so my morning was already ruining by this shit and now i lost another 1000$ on partypoker, i guess my game and lucky really sucks

April! by TianYuan, April 30

Yay for my original title

I got my money back from neteller like, april 17th, and I've been having a very swingy month, because of tilt, usually caused by an at times very cold deck.

But also because of me not being used to playing on UB and trying to 4 table, which is very very hard when you can't really use the handhistory as easily as you can on PStars.

PAcehud helps immensly with this tho, although I'm only 2-3 tabling now.

Anyway, I'll post hands/graphs and shit later, thanks to the deposit bonus and 'turn points into cash' promotion I'm actually in the green + there's an unrecorded +85$ session (the first one I played actually) skewing my stats further.

Played 10k hands NL10, 10k hands NL10 (I actually lost 30$ on this wtf? but it helped me find my rhytmn again after I had a horrible day at NL25).

Oh well, with the rakeback I should have like almost 800$ish, won 100ish today in 300 hands, so felt like this was a good time to make an april update!

Currently going through my sessions in pokertracker and I remembered these hilarious hands, look at them in order:

Hand 1, the war begins - http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/183895

Hand 2, wee http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/183896

Hand 3, this one seems familiar.. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/183897

Doubled him 3 times, gutshots > queens? I was somewhat tilted after this (shortstacks tilt me like nobody else) but now I find the 3 hands hilarious :D

Here's the handhistory numbers for the 3 hands:
Hand 1: 6013
Hand 2: 6016
Hand 3: 6019

Regular like clockwork

Looking through my second-most recent sessions (where I thought I was tilting like a madman), I see that I had much worse luck than I thought, although I'm really questioning my play in this hand:

JJ in re-raised pot, 3 handed.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/183891

Any comments would be appreciated, I have him at 21.56/9.43/Total AF 1.34, flop AF of 0.71 over 371 hands.

Didn't play any big hands with him before this as far as I remember.
I guess he'd play AJ, AK this way, but I doubt he 3bets AJ. At the same time I don't think I can fold JJ to a reraise, when in position, on a 3 handed table..

And when you then flop your set.. I mean, I'm pretty damn sure I can't fold, it just felt stupid >.<

Just ran the numbers in pokerstove and vs a KK-AA + AKs/AKo range of hands my equity is still 52.434% (for some reason I got a lower number last time, by like 2%, I'm pretty sure I had the exact same cards input ><).. I guess this was a trivial call, and I'm just being results oriented.

Usually when I get oversetted I don't feel like I made any mistake at all but this time it felt weird I guess.

Cold as ice... by RAHZero, April 30

So I'm officially no longer running hot as hell. Dropped about $1.5k this weekend. Lost like $400 at NL 100 getting f'ed over and over again at Full Tilt before I decided to withdraw and put my whole roll back at UB. Dropped another $400 taking shots at NL $400 (lost top two on the flop to a semi-shorty's flush draw, and then top two to a straight, made a buy-in back with a flopped flush vs. aces), lost the rest at NL $200. Couple days ago I was thinking this could be a $4k month (last month was my first $2k month, though I'd come very close before). Now I'm barely above $2k for the month. Hopefully the last day of the April will be good.

won back a bit by SneakrFreakr, April 30

So yesterday in the evening I played a session on some other poker room and managed to win like $250 back so it wasn't that bad of a day. Got some setup but on the most part I was hitting loads of flops. Some of the highlights of the session:

1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/183804
I check this flop from time to time. This was one of these spots and it went pretty well. I'm not sure if I'd make this call without an 8 on the river, but I was like 90% sure that he's on a total bluff, rather than valuebetting a weaker hand. Luckily I was right.

2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/183807
He must've been on a massive tilt.

3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/183808
First attempt to 3bet light and I get punished right away.

Ok time to play some poker - it's last day of the April so it'd be nice to have a nice winning session to boost up my winnings for the month. And I promise I'll study a bit as well today.

Doesn't mean that I'm stupid! by locoo, April 30

So it's sunday again, and I feel somewhat inspired for another blog entry.

Success!!

I'm not sure if I can beat NL25$ consistently yet, but I ran hot couple of days, going up 300$ and much more than achieving my 600$ goal, I ended up with 800$, so its 200$ to me and 600$ to...

NO IQ Poker!

Gonna deposit 600$ here, seems like a good, serious site with Bank Wire Transfer, so it's just what I need, hopefully I will be playing NL50$ sooner than I expected.

Regrets

Never winning even one tournament at Pokerstars makes me kind of sad. I cashed in about 1/3rd of them but never got to Final Table in any. Failure in tournament game. but I will be back, pokerstars.

I wanted to play the Liquidpoker tournaments every sunday as well, but I can't because I got paid from a BW Team to play WGT-CL at the exact time that the tourneys take place, so I can never come (last sunday was an exception because we won by W.o )
PD : The payment sucks ass and I regret it 100%, but I have to deal with it, at least until the season is over

Other things!

So finally, I'm getting a hat and a t-shirt with the PS logo (SWEET!), I'm getting my gf and my mom couple shirts as well, FPP Store is great!!.

Some hands worth posting:

WTf is this doomers apprentice?

This is how my day begun, with this 2 hands, and very impulsive as I am I proceeded to make a mockery of myself by posting this topic:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/information/f/195228/1/Keeps_and_keeps_happening.html

I suggest u insult me there if u want to , although I still don't understand the urge to diss someone in distress (I personally just wouldn't care, or feel for him/her) but I kind of deserved it anyway :[

Ok lets keep on with couple more hands!, biggest winners!! to cheer me up!!

This hand will always have a special place in my heart.. well unless the exact same thing happens again but the third dude mucks AA.

second biggest winner and really cool hand. Loved it.

So this is it for this week, hopefully next sunday I will report more profit from NoIQPoker, I sure hope so!. As always, have my blessing for the tables, and may God guide your flush draws.

Ta-da

Balling (in real life, not online!) by Bytewalker, April 29

Didn't play at all for the last 4 days. Went to Banff with some buddies and crashed at the hostel. I spent way too much money on gas/restaurants/liquor/nightclubs! I'm scared to look at my credit card.

Monthly graph!!

So only around 50 hours... not very much considering I only have 1 class, quit my job and have mad billz to pay! This month I cashed out $900 so GG all that profit. Nothing really interesting to say, I'm going to try to put in some heavy hours next week because I'm still sticking to my $300/week cashout policy!.
