Early morning session by TianYuan, June 03

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 435 hands and saw flop:
- 27 out of 88 times while in big blind (30%)
- 7 out of 86 times while in small blind (8%)
- 14 out of 261 times in other positions (5%)
- a total of 48 out of 435 (11%)
Pots won at showdown - 8 of 8 (100%)
Pots won without showdown - 65
+150$

Probably going to play more later, but it felt good to get 'back in the saddle', ran very, veeeeerrrrrrry well and probably should have continued playing but meh, I prefer to play it safe and get back on track slowly.

This was probably a really bad fold tho,
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/205684
The guy seemed tight (he's actually 23/15 over 180 hands) and I decided I really wasn't in the mood to push here, I'm also really suspicious about people who timebank reallllly long then raise you.

Another good reason to stop playing, cause I probably should want to get it in here =)

Broke 2k lifetime sng winnings by CrownRoyal, June 03

Well, I've always considered myself a much better sng/tournament player than cash and I've always enjoyed them since I played the playmoney games on stars like 3 years ago. I've had this account for my entire poker career and I've suffered through the good and the bad times of poker, if you notice my first huge downswing that was me starting to try to understand push/fold, I've never really read anything SNG related, I still probably have bad ranges in some spots I just go off of what my brain tells me is right and it apparently is pretty correct.

http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/6903/2kvn0.png

I think I have it down pretty well, I've got restealing mastered, I think I'm pretty much perfectly playing A game SNG now.

I'm not too proud of some of these ROIs, a lot of it is learning as this was my first account.

http://img110.imageshack.us/img110/9269/roiyv1.png

My 16s ROI is almost purely my recent play as I just started playing them, and I'm making a living off of them as of right now paying truck payments, insurance, and whatever else there is like beer and gas. As of right now I'm cashing out $25 every day, but I might start cashing out more since im playing the 16s now and not the 6s. Poker is fun right now, I think I might make a switch to cash for a while for some bonus hunting on sites with rakeback like Cake Poker, I'm not totally sure at the moment though SNG are going pretty well (Ive made over 1k in a month) Anyways though thanks for reading or whatever.

Cheers everyone

Annoying sessions by Critterer, June 03

Have barely played last week, played some on the 27th and dropped a tonne due to mass setups.

Played another 1.7k hands today, and im up a grand total of $18, but im happy to say that im up. Ran very badly overall, met some harsh coolers. Id have been up 5+ buyins otherwise, but nevermind, glad i played well, earnt a few FPP and almost 1 buyin too.

Aiming for 35k hands this month, should be very achievable even though its the last week of uni and gotta socialise a lot.

Try differnt Styles? by mrpav.com, June 03

Well i seem to be doing ok so far at .5/1. I feel pretty comfortable playing there. Also all the days i played this week I got a good nights rest and made sure my mind was focused. I also know when I start to tilt a little, like I start calling people down with garbage I usually wouldn’t, so the minute I notice that I stop playing for a couple of hours and regroup because its better to lose 1-2 buy ins rather than 8-10 before you notice something is wrong. I'm going to try to play a different style, I’ve been reading up on it and I want to give it a shot. I'm also going to give 9 handed tables a shot, since I haven't played there for long. Anyways, the stats below are for May 28 - June 3, and the other one is for today’s play June 3. I started playing less hand per week, so I want to increase that again, but all in all I’m pleased with my play. Going to go out for lunch tomorrow with my girlfriend for some sushi, so what should be fun =)

Busto... by MayZerG, June 03

After a bad run lasting for 4 days, i've busted...

I done share desktop with LolGiraffe so he can look over my PT on Live Meeting, and he said almost all of them were bad beats apart from a few coinflips i done with AK preflop.

http://img296.imageshack.us/img296/7171/holyshitmi9.jpg

The grinder has fallen... but i will be back for another shot soon. I have $20 to work with.

First post. by BalloonFight, June 03

Hmm, well I was thinking of doing a blog a while back, but I decided to wait a while. Anyway here's my poker story so far.

I started playing in February of this year. I of course knew how to play before then but that was about it. I started studying the game pretty intensely, and after a week of reading a couple of books, a friend from TL gave me $5 on stars and I was off.

I started at .02/.04 limit (IE hell). I played some random freeroll and added and extra $3 to my slick $5 roll. I was at $8 and it felt good. fanta[rn] then gave me $10 so I was at $18. I stayed there for a long while basically breaking even at limit for a week or so. I then decided that I would just go to NL after having a fairly decent amount of hands under my belt.

At .01/.02 I slowly clawed and climbed my way through building my miniscule roll. When I reached $40ish I got a the SNG bug after reading plenty of sng articles. I played a fair amount of $1 + .20 sngs, finally decided that I didn't really enjoy sngs and went back to cash. Then after another couple weeks of playing I'm where I am right now, $85.

My goal is to get to $120 before June 10, when I'll move up to nl5 and keep on grinding.

Anyway hopefully I'll keep on slowly moving up and enjoying this game. Shoutouts to all of the LP irc regulars, including fanta[rn], dronebabo, fred, greenbbt, artanis, and rob. Also thanks Hot_bid for the original $5er. <3

freakin CAN$ by all_in_4tw, June 03

bad beat for the canadian poker players

in the last two months the CAN$ went from 0.85US$ to 0.94US$

that means someone with 10K in his poker account lost about 1125 CAN$ without doing anything.

so i decided to use the popularity of my blog (lol) to start a petition. If you are a canadian poker player and agree that the CAN$ value is way too high right now, reply "signed" in this thread.

if i ever get to 10 signatures, i will send the link of this thread to Stephen Harper, our prime minister, and ask him to lower the value of our dollard to where it was 4-5 years ago... 0.65 US$

in other news.. i lost a hand with quads yesterday wtf?

New poker blog by doctorstu, June 03

I've decided to move from playing 2/3 at crown casino here in Melbourne to playing some micro-stakes online. I've got about $200 on pstars so I think I'll start off slow playing 6-handed 10NL and work my way up from there.

Boring blog out.

Time To Get Serious by TimDawg, June 03

May has been one of my worst months ever since I've been playing poker and I need to make some changes. I can't just mindlessly and effortlessly grind through every limit and expect to progress into the higher stakes. It takes hard work.

So, I'm going to start watching more CR vids, going over tricky hands with better players more often, and really making an effort to concentrate on my game more (taking more notes, lowering tables, ect.)

Here's hands/stats for the last two days:

this guy was 3betting me a ton and auto betting any flop
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/205203

should've bet/folded this river; Mez's comment makes perfect sense
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/205196

he'd probly bet turn with an A or Q and i play sets/AK/AQ/AJ/Ax like this as well
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/205192

ughh pretty bad by me; this guy seemed fishy and i didn't think he would insta-pot flop w/ an overpair

Workig hard by wolfheart, June 03

I have been working now 2 months with my friend in Tallinn on construction. Havent played poker much only on some weekends at home when i borrrowed friend laptop.
With like 24h total playtime in those months i think i have got my roll from 170 to 820$. Now finally my friend arrived from france so i got my laptop back what i lended him, i can now play some poker after work if i have spare time and not so tired.

Hard work has lost some of my weight also. Its all god because i feel much more alive then ever. Thinking mostly about sport and all the nice girls on town.

I also made a few REALLY BAD tilt 3bets/4bets and then had to fold to shoves (lol so bad) and a couple of - arguably - stupid calls vs a retarded station when I had TPTK.

Playing bad or running bad? by trukpoker, June 02

Lately everything i touch pokerwise turns to shit. I feel like im playing good poker and its just an extremely bad run , however i've never had a streak of bad luck longer than a month like this. losing with a set to quads and flopping flushes losing to higher ones is no longer a rare occurance for me.

One positive out of such a bad run is when im losing i seem to really step back and look at my game. And i've discovered some things i really dont underwstand about the game.

- How tight/loose is optimal?

I know it all depends on tables, player and other factors but all i ever see when looking at stats of higher winning players is 25/21, 30/25 stats. I play at around 17/12 and if i try to play looser i get in so many terrible spots like OOP vs stations with no pair or draw and no idea what to do. The only problem i have with staying tight is nowadays theres so many regulars i don't want to be so predictable. The only think i can think of is raising more hands like connectors and such only when theres more regulars at each table. If it is full of donks i must make sure i tighten up and play abc poker and take their money.

- Thinking things through before pressing a button.

Lately i've noticed i keep slowplaying hands on draw heavy boards. Its these boards where i should be raising more to extract value from the draws. I feel like i am abit on autopilot and not thinking things through. This is probably overall the major leak that has only recently come into my game.

It is abiut of a paradox tha the more someone plays poker the more they should improve, however lately i feel the older me was a far better player even though i know an incredible amount more than i did back then. I've read over 15 books endless articles, cardrunner videos and hand discussions. The only thing i can honestly put this down to is i am outhinking myself and giving poor players far to much credit in their abiliy. I need to rethink how i think about the game and my thought processes.

I love to talk poker and discuss hands i think it improves my game and whoever i am talking with, if anyone wants to talk with me on msn add me on kurt_detroit@hotmail.com. I play 50nl, 100nl and taking shots at 200nl.

Good session by DustySwedeDude, June 02

Anti-tilt-girl gives a mean head. That thing they say about ugly girls are true.

Also, I played like 400 hands today despite my bet with a friend that I shouldn't before the test. I ended up like 200 USD I'll have to pay him 30. I was tight as an asian girl though, which isn't that fun.
