Its time for a change by locoo, June 20

After reading many poker blogs, Ive realized just how boring they get, unless the guy makes an insane amount of money or Johny Cosmo blog.

So ill make something different from them to make my blogs more interesting, aside from, of course, my super interesting poker career!

Every Blog entry ill discuss a relevant topic thats been on my mind, or just share some cool videos from Youtube.

Resume on poker

Finally got my account back, 4K BR there grinding 50NL until rakeback payment (friday) and then ill try the NL100 tables once again (800$ down there =( ).

I literally destroyed the NL25 partypoker tables, 300$ in 2 days, so that feels good and I felt it was so easy to trap and bluff them, confidence up again. So gonna cash out the 700$ from party and use it prolly for other promos or casinos or gifts.

Im up 200$ today on NL50 as well, so all good.

Relevant topic of the week

So I was searching on youtube for some Vids, and run into this British show, some singers are really nice, like this dudes:

or this kid:

poor guy though, when he changes his voice as all males do... byebye 1 million $ voice =/

Granny rapper, a must see ROFL :

There are tons more on youtube.

This little girl stole my heart though:

I gotta admit, after watching it for the 4rd time it doesnt sound so impressive anymore,... still!

Well thats all. Next blog prolly gonna be full of photos (if I ever learn how to upload photos on the internet and then show them here) since I got an assignment from university, LETS LOOK FOR FAKE FACES ON THE STREET, or something.

Play good at the tables! byebyes.

OMFG!!!!!!!! by sTrAtO, June 20

Today I've been running bad, having a lot of crazy suckouts and badbeats... There was this time where in 5 of my 8tables i had PP (44,44,66,55,22) and didn't hit the set in neither of them T_T. And when I hit my sets I have to fold because of dangerous boards like lets say I have TT and the board is T-J-Q-K-x

Im not on tilt, still playing "good" but things like the hand below are just ridiculously SICK!

http://img472.imageshack.us/img472/4361/tt99qr4.jpg

hope i can get my online luck back soon! :/

Sick roshambo strategy by JYang, June 20

a friend of mine sent me this and i was like wtf lawl

http://www.usarps.com/tourney-info/ro...view/master-roshs-expert-analysis/14/

Master Rosh's Expert Analysis
14.05.07
Jamie Langridge, the 2007 Bud Light USARPS champion, made use of several well-known strategies during his Final Sixteen run, but combined and utilized them in a manner uniquely his own. His style of play can best be described as "complex adaptive," as he switched effortlessly between runs of alternating and repeated throws.

In the final match between Jamie and David Borne, endurance was definitely a factor. In two of Jamie's previous Final Sixteen matches, he beat his opponents in only two sets. All of Brandon 's matches lasted an entire three sets, and he was obviously starting to tire by the time he reached the finals.

In the first set of the finals, Jamie stunned David with a quick two throw victory, with no ties. Jamie made excellent use of the Roshambollah Trap, which posits that a player will not use consecutive identical throws. Thus, after winning with scissors, Jamie threw rock, knowing that he would either tie or win. The second set started with a tied rock before David wisely played paper twice in a row, having learned his lesson in the first set. David wins this time, pushing the match into the third and deciding set. This time, the players tie with rock then scissors, noticeably affecting an already exhausted Borne. After this, Jamie uses a similar one-two punch to take David out in two throws and win the championship with a final throw of paper, a throw he had not used successfully since the round of sixteen.

Jamie showed excellent metagame awareness through his entire Final Sixteen run. Over all four of his matches, he threw rock sixteen times, as opposed to nine each for paper and scissors. This created an imbalance in his opponents' perceptions; the more he threw rock, the more his opponents tended to believe he would continue doing so. This caused his antagonists to throw more paper than usual, especially David in the final set. Aware of this, Jamie made excellent tactical use of scissors; fully 60% of Jamie's winning throws in the final match were indeed scissors.

If anything, Jamie's only real weakness is how he delivers the paper. Out of the nine papers thrown in his final four matches, Jamie only won twice, giving him a dismal win ratio of 22% with paper. He fared little better with rock, winning seven out of sixteen throws for a win ratio of 44%. His real strength is in his well-timed tactical scissors strikes; he won eight of the nine times he threw scissors in the Final Sixteen, giving him an amazing 88% win ratio when using this throw. If Jamie can maintain his scissors "edge" and shore up the problems currently affecting his paper game, his RPS potential is virtually unlimited.

Day 3 with PICTURES! by JonnyCosMo, June 20

Obviously this time I got pictures. In my Day 2 post I was in a rush to get back to the poker room so I couldn't put up any pics. So yesterday I basically played in that tournament in the morning that I talked about in my last post, then Derric (actionDJ) gave me a call so I met up with him, his girlfriend Shana and his girlfriend's friend Anna. We headed off to the pool with Mango and met up with TYROMPER and his girlfriend Courtney coming back from the European section of the pool. For most of the afternoon we just chilled and drank pool side.

After the pool we headed to the poker room to pick up Lyric for dinner. Ate at Corsa at the Wynn, and it just wasnt nearly as good as some of their other places to eat. So after I headed off to The Mirage to hang out with Shana, Anna, and Derric in their baller ass suite. The original plan was to hit up Pure (in Ceasars) but we convinced the girls that Daut's house was like x1000 more baller than any night club. Now the problem: How to transport 7 people with one car.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP01.JPG
Shana, Anna (behind her), Me, and actionDJ

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP02.JPG
Anna, Me, and actionDJ

So let's stuff 5 people in the back of Lyric's Porshe Caymen! Seems like a smart idea! So we head off to Daut's baller pad, and upon arrival half the house was upstairs watching Martine23 play the final table of the PokerStar's Super Tuesday. With 5 left, he shoved K6 in SB vs BB and was "slowrolled" by this euro guy who tanked and called w/ A6s. Martine23 bricks off and is out in 5th. He then proceeds to berate the shit out of the rest of the FT players. Some funny ass shit.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP03.JPG
actionDJ, Mango, Lyric, and pmilanov

So Lyric goes out and grabs a lot of beers, then we decide to transform the nicest marble table in the entire house into a beer pong table. And the battles begin:

Genius28 & youngman VS. actionDJ & Shana

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP04.JPG
actionDJ & Shana

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP05.JPG
Lyric, Mango, Anna, and Daut

At the end it was Genius28 & youngman who hustled the Santa Cruz beer pong pros. Next match:

Genius28 & youngman VS. JonnyCosMo & pmilanov

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP06.JPG
Me and Pavel getting totally fucked...

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP07.JPG
youngman & Genius28

We got swept pretty hard, leaving 5 cups on their side as they cleaned us out. Genius28 & youngman now 2 for 2. Next match:

Genius28 & youngman VS. Mango & Anna

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP08.JPG
The defending champions

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP09.JPG
The challengers: Mango & Anna

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP10.JPG
And once again... The winners are...

Genius28 & youngman, just hustling everyone so far. Then Martine23 entered the room after getting over his bust-out of the Super Tuesday.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP11.JPG
Martine23, Genius28 and youngman

So we now had our next match:

Genius28 & youngman VS. Martine23 & Lyric

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP12.JPG
Discussion of possible prop bets??

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP13.JPG
The champions... struggling?

In the end, the underdogs came out on top and Martine23 and Lyric took down the defending champs. Next match:

Martine23 & Lyric VS. actionDJ & Shana

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP14.JPG
Team UCSC trying to get their shit together

actionDJ and Shana ended up taking this match in a really close 1 cup vs 1 cup ending. Next match:

actionDJ & Shana VS. JonnyCosMo & Jesse

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP15.JPG
"Oh fuck...

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP16.JPG
Ship??

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/Day3WSOP17.JPG
Ding! Winnars! Happy Dance that shit!

Bam bam and the new champs are Me & Jesse! Ship ship!! So after that we all ended up going to the spa (which is huge) and chilled a bit there, and then Pavel ended up driving all of us back home in Lyric's car. While driving down LV blvd I stuck my head out and blew chunks so scratch #9 on my things to-do list. That is pretty much all I remember. Oh btw, most baller picture ever?:

LOL... ok hasta

Vegas bitchez! by SakiSaki, June 20

Hell YES! Tomorrow is finally the day, Im so fucking pumped! My flight leaves tomorrow morning and I have 14 hours of flying to look forward to :/ I fucking hate flying so much. I always get really bored and the seats are way to small to fit my slender, long scandinavian legs.

Awell, I have my ipod, books and laptop to keep me company so hopefully I wont get bored enough to kill myself. I will be staying with cosmo, sixpeppers and two fellows I dont know in a baller condo. I dont really have an adress for where we will be staying but I do have cosmos cellphone number so we can hopefully sort it out. If not, Ill just pull a twistedecho and head to the bellagio looking for familiar faces.

I cashed out about 10k from neteller for expenses and a live roll, unfortunately Im a retard and cashed out way to late but hopefully I will have the monies in my bankaccount by friday. Otherwise ill have to spend the weekend like a bum having only a couple of 100 bucks for playing/eating/being baller.

Anyways, I intend to update the blog regularily with stories/pictures of my encounters and adventures with all the legendary lp ballers currently hanging out in vegas.

Stay tuned

Off to a good start... by wilddamon, June 20

http://img360.imageshack.us/img360/4201/66winrateto4.jpg

gotta love it. I forgot to save the first 600 or so hand histories for Poker Tracker though. oops.

However I started this morning with $10, now I have $21.50.

So I am up $11.50 over 843 hands at $0.01/$0.02 on Stars.

I think I could improve my winrate by being more careful about betting that goes to showdown >.>; 52% won at showdown.. That can't all be stupid hands where I have absolutely nothing and neither does anyone else so the person with A high or a pair of 2s wins.

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 843 hands and saw flop:
- 66 out of 115 times while in big blind (57%)
- 14 out of 113 times while in small blind (12%)
- 50 out of 615 times in other positions (8%)
- a total of 130 out of 843 (15%)
Pots won at showdown - 12 of 23 (52%)
Pots won without showdown - 44

So this is what it's like to run good by Svenman87, June 19

went to Canterbury after I got off work today @ 5 wanting to play some 15/30-30/60

But those lists are pretty huge atm so I decide to splash it around at the 6/12 game.

Holy shit was this a loose ass game. Not only was I card dead but I getting raped when I'd pick something up. Whatever.
So Far
-330

15/30 Game FINALLY opens up and I'm able to leave that fucking table.

@ the 15/30 Game nothing too fancy happened.

My kings lost to 6 4 of hearts vs a really agro guy who I wasn't pushing off shit. Flush on the river. gg me.

Make a sick call down with A6 against A2 and take down a nice pot before I get moved to the 15/30 Main Game (I was currently playing at the feeder game)

The main game was nitty as fuck. first 2 times I opened with KQ and AJ it was insta folded around.

I pick up Qs9s in the BB and UTG+1 2-bets. folded to me I call.

Jh 10s 4s

Long story short I end up 4 betting it on the flop, betting turn and donk betting the missed river. :-[

I then pick up pocket three's next orbit in the BB. 1 bet to me, I call same with another guy.
Flop Ah 5d 8h
Check Check Bet Call Call
Turn 9s
Check Check Check
River 2s
Check Bet Call Call

One guy has A 4 and gets the pot shipped to him.
T_T on my good read though on the original better of the hand with a fd.
I really didnt want the other guy to call too.

Anyways ONWARD now to the 30/60 game.
Lots of familiar faces from last nights crowd. so it looks pretty good to me.

Early on I get raped hardcore. Kings < Rivered Ace
Flopped Straight < Rivered Higher Straight (huge ass pot... at LEAST 800.00

I had 108 suited in the BB and it was 1-bet to me with about 6 callers.

Flop Comes J 9 7
it goes bet 2-bet called around to me I also call

Turn 2
I c/r the entire field with the nuts

River 10
I bet out and get insta raised. I call and he shows KQ

Meh w/e

-600 at this point and kinda frustrated

I start to chip back up after I get off life tilt.

Until this hand comes up

I get 3c 10c MP.

UTG (has been opening and 3-betting very light as I have seen so far) I decide to isolate and 3-bet

folded around to the SB who 4-bets
UTG 5-bets
OOPS
I call

2h 4c 6h
SB bets
UTG 2bets
I call
SB 3-bets, UTG 4-bets I call (/WRIST AT THIS POINT IN TIME)
SB Caps again.

Turn 8c
OOOOOO
I check/call
River 5s

I check/raise and get shipped a huge pot with 3c10c
Oh lawd I love limit poker sometimes.

After this pot and a few other boring pots I find myself up 1200

I decide to call it quits at 11:00 CST due to the fact that I work again tomorrow and last night raped me (fucking no-doz)

+1450

Anyways peace.

p.s.: I love to tilt 2+2 nits

A New Era.. by wilddamon, June 19

Warning, the following blog contains extreme nittiness

Hi everyone, I've been lurking around Liquid Poker for a while. I just played my first cash games on stars, and I am pretty happy with the results. I played 3 tables at $0.01/$0.02 for about an hour and I am up $2.60. Now lets pray it wasn't beginners luck!

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 95 hands and saw flop:
- 7 out of 12 times while in big blind (58%)
- 2 out of 15 times while in small blind (13%)
- 6 out of 68 times in other positions (8%)
- a total of 15 out of 95 (15%)
Pots won at showdown - 2 of 3 (66%)
Pots won without showdown - 3

(I warned you - extreme nittiness!) but I won almost every pot I put money into.

Back Story

I - Eddy - haven't been playing poker for very long. I have played starcraft, like many others on this site, albeit not overly well. I am also somewhat of an amature artist, and I study engineering at university.

http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/38...63/763/heldabovebywilddamonje0.th.jpg

I began playing poker when I won $50 at a $5 buy-in tournament with some friends.

After that I have been playing quite a bit of play money on PokerStars. I played using a bankroll strategy where I moved up when I had 100,000. I had to move down once when I suffered a succession of bad calls (probably bad plays by me ), but I've played through. I had a long period where I couldn't stay above 800,000 but I read over some hands and thought about my play more carefully and got through.

Since I broke 1 million I thought I'd have a go at real money.

http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/6889/playmoneycr6.th.png

I've been reading the guides and reading over hand discussions here and I hope you all will help me become a better player!

PS. I also played some play money on VC Poker. Does something look a little wierd on this picture?

Who would have guessed by MoogleSATX, June 19

So thanks to someone pointing me in the right direction and not just openly flaming the fish i've finally found grot's old guide to starting out aka "abc poker" and i see where alot of you say i've been playing stuff wrong. Anyways being a true degen at heart i've gone semi-busto on UB ($15) playing Single player BlackJack - damn you UB!. So i took a break read up on Grot guide deposited on Stars $50 and have been grinding out the NL2 tables 12 tabling FR basically playing like a robot learning when/what to play stuff and just playing 2-3k hand sessions not just hit and run luckboxing. After my session i'm doing 1 180 4.40 SNG to end my poker day. anyways up to 102 after 3 days of playing better poker and actually using bankroll management not jumping up to different limits underrolled. my grinding let me play in sundays flipament (cuz i'm a degen obv) and the weekly. It feels good to actually feel like i'm learning something instead of just being a total luckbox.

Anyways GL all see you at the micro stakes

Kupo!

Underneath that plastic top, theres a foil type seal on top with a tab that lets you pull it off easily. I for whatever reason, can never for the life of me, do it correctly. I always manage to pull from where the tab is, and somehow not rip the seal off, but rip off the edges of the cardboard box that the foil is sealed onto. I am 0 for my last 3 making the same mistake. WTF is wrong with me.

Meanwhile, during my break from poker, I've decided to start playing on UB with my $60 or $70 roll. 10NL is fun. Now that I'm done with my stupid final and only have a midterm to study for next week, I will start playing more, and hopefully build up a nice little UB roll. (I still have bonus $$ there too, which is sweet)

Wish me luck

Btw: in the future, maybe a few months down the road, I will need FT$ for possibly Stars or UB money. Just a heads up for all you FT ballers to think of excuses when I come to you asking for help.

Day Dos of Da Vegas Trip by JonnyCosMo, June 19

So yesterday I basically woke up, went to the Wynn poker room and played til I dropped. I sat down at a juicy 2-5 table but couldnt get anything started. Then I moved over to my good friend Ann's table (Poker Pro Ann!) who is regular at the Wynn, and probably one of the better live pros I know. She plays some pretty sick 24+ hour sessions on a regular basis. My luck started picking up at her table as I raised A3s in the cut-off and the wreckless button called. Now before I explain the hand, let me tell you guys what I know: Ann is a thinking player who plays more off of instincts than off of the math. With that said, I know she is capable of huge hero calls, as well as some wacky plays. So Ann called from the big blind and the flop came 2-4-5. Ann leads $45, and I flat call in hopes the button goes psycho. The button folded, and the turn came a 9. Ann checked, and I bet $100. Ann didnt take very long and called. River is a 10, and Ann checked again. I thought about it for a little bit, then shoved for $350. That immediately got a weird look from Ann, as she reaches into her stack and counts out $350. I got the super stare down for the next 5 mins, as she kept asking me questions and saying things like "I think I'm going to make a donkey call" just to see my reaction. I just sat there silently for the most part as she continued to think about it. Then she asked "Will you show your cards if I fold?" I should have just said nothing, but for some reason I had to open my fucking big mouth and say something retarded along the lines of "I dont know whats the correct answer to that question." Way to give it away JonnyCosMo you fucking moron... she doesn't take too long after and ends up folding. To make matters worse, I decide to be the nice guy and show her the A3. Smart one... Later on we talked and she told me she tossed QQ. I play so bad, how do I not stack an overpair there, zomg.

I end up making like $500 in that first session, and took a break to get something to eat and walk around. Lyric and Daut came from the $2500 6-max WSOP event and told me they both busted so we all went to the buffet at the Wynn w/ Pavel. After we ate we all went back to the poker room to play. A young kid sat to my right at the new 2-5 table I was at and was obviously an internet player. So I asked what his ID was on PokerStars and he told me he was GoGator86 (a NL200 regular who I use to play against) so that was cool. We talked a lot about the games online, and I noticed he was being the most active player at the table preflop. Raises and repopping people left and right. So I'm $700 deep and he covers at this point when a loose player raises in MP to $25 and he reraises right behind him to $75. I look down to see AKo... I figured I could just fold... but this might be a good spot to try that 4 bet over the top squeeze. So I make it $250. Everyone folds as does the original raiser, back to GoGator86, who takes like 10 seconds and then says "Reraise all-in". Ugg... fuck me. So I call and hate myself when I see his AA. Flop came a K, but turn and river brick off and I lose that $1400 pot to put me back to even on the day. Shit. I play 2 hours more after that and couldnt get much working so I went back to my room around midnight and just crashed.

Woke up this morning at 11:30 and decided to play the $330 tournament at the Wynn. They start you off w/ 5000 in tournament chips with really slow blind levels starting at 25/50 and moving up every 45 mins. So 20 mins into the tournament I pick up AQo, folded to the cut-off he raises to 150, I reraise to 550, he calls. Flop comes A-K-3 all hearts, he checks, I look and see I have the Qh, so I check (apparently a mistake). Turn comes Kc, he bets 700 so I smooth call. River is the As and he insta shoves his last 4000 into the pot. I'm like "Whaa.... ok I hope we chop." and call. He taps the table and is like "I thought you had nothing" as he mucked his cards. Thanks for the gift sir. So I'm up to 10k, build up to 12k over the next hour. Then right before the 1st break, at 75/150 the utg player (10k stack) raises to 600, folded to me in the big blind and I look to see KK. I make it 1600. UTG player looks at me and insta raises to 6000. So I insta re-shove all-in and he insta calls and shows me AA. Bam, board bricks off for me and I'm down to 2k in chips. We take a 15 min break, I come back and on my 2nd hand I find AA on the button. UTG limps, folded around to me, I make it 1200 at 100/200 blinds. One of the blinds calls, and the utg calls. Flop comes Q-2-3 rainbow. Check check to me, so I put my last 800 in obv. The blind tanks for a while then puts in a call. The limper reshoves all-in, and the blind folds. Limper has 33, gg JonnyCosMo.

Poker sucks lol.

Running cold sucks... by RAHZero, June 19

Just finished a rough session:

I ran about as bad as humanly possible, so to finish barely in the red feels pretty good. The big drop was me getting rivered in this monster pot:

A bunch of other retarded coolers and bad beats as well. Just kind of sucks that I'm playing really good poker lately and not winning but whatever, I'm sure things will turn around.
