| | 400nl by anon, June 28
So everything was fine for two weeks, i finally losened up, increased my winning rate and even wasn't sucked out too often. But everything changed 4 days, i managed to lose 5.5K$ per 4 days, mostly suckouts, also my kings are in negative balance, since i ran like 7 times KK into AA per 17K hands. Got a lot of shit yesterday where i lost like 6 hands in a row being favorite, also today was horrible ran into very ugly set ups and suckouts then tilted some. Not much to whine more, i know i can beat 400nl, i don't see too much difference between 200 and 400nl just there are more 3bets pf. But variance is just too high for me to handle, i can't afford lossing that much since i have to save 15K$ per summer, i cashed out out a big chunk out of my br leaving 10K for 200nl and i won't play 400nl again until i will be very well rolled to handle the variance.
400nl graph:
http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/2013/nl400pt0.jpg
Feel shitty now, i will have to grind 200nl again for a long time before my next shot to 400nl, fuck the variance
w/e i hope i will find some motivation again to keep it going.
Thanks for reading my whiny post

SOOOOO we were supposed to leave at 655am for Vegas. I got all my stuff packed up, put my money and wallet in my pocket, put on my hat, and unplugged my phone to leave for my friend's house... and I realized I had 6 missed calls and 4 IMs...
'OUR FLIGHT IS CANCELLED'
l;kajdsl;gjkasdglkjasl;dkjgla;ksglkajsgd;lk
Jet Blue, you can suck my dick. I don't care about the weather patterns being dangerous. Whatever, that was fine. Until I checked the outgoing flights from JFK and saw that EVERY OTHER JET BLUE FLIGHT LEFT THE AIRPORT, INCLUDING ONE TO BURBANK, CALIFORNIA. Get out of here. Next available flight: 655am FRIDAY MORNING.
Anyway, it might not be the worst thing in the world. Everyone in our group took off Tuesday from work anyway, and Wednesday is the 4th of July, so I think we're just going to extend it a day.
More to come when I actually get there!
GL!

| | Back to the sng grind by Cooperstown, June 28
Since micro stakes pretty much make me want to slit my wrists I've decided to grind SNG's till my roll is large enough to play 100nl. I'll probably be grinding quite awhile if I don't get a major MTT score along the way.
Had time to play a few here is the results for the day.
$5.50 25 played 1st - 5 2nd - 2 3rd - 3 Total profit - $29.00
I also played the $3 rebuy and finished 93rd for ~$44 when I invested $9.30. I'm not sure about the hand I was eliminated on, give me your thoughts. Blinds are 6k/12k 200 ante so ~20k dead in the pot. I have 109k and pick up A/9d in the CO folded to me I open push and run into Q's in the SB. I brick out and get eliminated, seems like a pretty standard push but I wanna be sure.

Flight leaves in 3 hours from NYC. Staying at the Mirage with 9 of my friends til Tuesday. I plan on playing 1/2 or 2/5 NL most of the time (and maybe playing a daily tournament or two at Caesars?)
If there's interest, I'll post a mini trip report from my sidekick here each night.
Good luck!

| | quitting early by nolan, June 27
Hey All,
I have been real lazy about putting in hands since the new CPU. I'm not sure why... I think it's because its Summer Summer time and I'm always riding my bike and going to the gym and lately these bike rides have turned into like 5 hour affairs? There's just a lot going on living near the beach and stuff so it gets to be pretty fun just flinging around.
With the laptop exploding and me being lazy I doubt I've put in more than 20k hands this month (I can't tell exact # because my old PT db's bit the dust). Since I've gotten the new CPU I've only put in like maybe 5k hands. Pretty much junk.
I started playing late tonight (1am my time) which is a time I almost never play. Decided to play some six max since it's been awhile. I was kind of immediately uncomfortable, maybe underestimated how tired I was. The action was going pretty fast too and I ended up deciding to quit because for the first time in a long time I was feeling kind of just uneasy and nervous in spots where normally I'm captain fearless.
There was definitely some interesting hands though... you should check these out. Any commentary/criticism on the hands is greatly appreciated. I'll spare you my logic in some of them, see if you can figure out what the hell I was thinking...
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/219944
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/219945 - really only weird because of his voluntary show
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/219946 - not shoving flop probably bad, but i figured 3-handed his range wasn't great and the odds of him bluffing turn greater
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/219941 - LOL fuck FGators.
It's annoying that I'm not putting in the hands, and it probably is a direct result of poor sleep habits and overworking myself at the gym and stuff. However, it's good that I'm not trying to force play when it's not EV+.

First entry yay!
Today, started a standard session 3 tabling 25nl at around 9:30 pm. At about 10:30 I was down about a buy in to really stupid things. I called an all-in pre with QQ against an absolute nit. Same thing happened earlier when I called with 99 out of the sb to a UTG raise and hit a 452 flop. Oh well. I was getting frustrated, but kept on chugging with stats of 20/18/4 hoping I'd get paid off eventually, and by 11pm, that finally happened. Got paid off with a straight against 2 pair, and a set against TPTK in a 3-bet pot. I guess table image really does matter at these limits. My roll is currently at $966, so I hope to move up to 50nl soon, but I'm not sure I'm totally beating 25nl yet. More to come including hands and pt stats. late~

| | I'm a weak tight pathetic sucky poker player by Verbloten, June 27
I was thinking of posting this as a new thread - but i will start as a new blog entry and see if any of you guys help me out.
I'm very disillusioned at the moment with regards to my poker skills. I'm starting to think perhaps i am actually no good at poker regardless of the fact that i have been playing for almost 2 years (almost every day).
I'm in a patch at the moment of about 70K hands where i have made no money (except for rakeback and bonuses) which is obviously a little hard to deal with because during this time i have also tried to move from 25NL to 50NL.
The last few days i know i have been playing very good TAG 6 max poker (50NL) and for a few hours of work i get no results. Then last night i lose 100 at same tables (starting to get frustrated at the end). Frustrated... folded to me in the SB i raise 4x. BB re raises. I reraise with QK. BB calls. Flop is Q 7 x. I bet and get re raised big. I push and he calls. He has A7 and hits A on river. I wouldn't normally play like this and results aside it was a terrible spewy thing to do. I normally avoid sb vs bb (i have a bigger penis than you) wars....
But the main thing i noticed during last night was how i played strong draws etc and other situations where i was sure i was just getting played back at - i play sooo weak, like sickly weak tight. why would i do this with over 60 buyins for 50NL.
WHY AM I SCARED OF GETTING MY MONEY IN? HOW CAN I STOP THIS? HOW CAN I STOP PLAYING WEAK TIGHT?

| | Second day better! by Peligroso, June 27
So, after the last few days bad sessions I decided that today would be a good day. Started up 4 tables at NL25 and almost immediately lost 2 buyins vs the probably fishiest player I've ever met, 80+ VPIP and saw flops with K2o even after pf raise 5xBB. The hands I lost vs him was AA and JJ when he had K2o and T4o.
After that I took a short break, wrote a post in the forums here on LP asking for advices about my limping since a few of you commented that I seem to limp a bit too much in yesterdays blog post. I got a couple of good replies with good points and went down to NL10 to try to put it in action by limping less and do more proper raises when I raise. People at this level are too retarded though and in the first 10 minutes I had AA twice and went AI pf both times when opponents pushed with 77 and 88. Do I even have to mention that both of them managed to hit four of a kind?
At that point I had played 80 hands on NL10 and was -$10 there and 300 hands on NL25 with the result of -$53, so was down a total of -$63 for the session.
http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/2777/part1dm9.jpg
Instead of going on at NL10 I decided to go up to NL25 again (yes my patience is a bit bad to say the least) to try my luck with my new moves there instead.
I think I finally got a pretty good grip on things, played more solid and ended the session on plus (!!!!) for the first time in the last few days and felt like I actually played really good for a change. Am aware that my PF AF probably still is way too low and I don't really get how I could end up with lower PFR and PF AF during the second part of the session compared to the first part cause it certainly didn't feel that way... I'll try to work more on it next time.
http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/5769/part2td3.jpg
Some hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/219645
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/219635 (yes, I lucked out... finding it hard to believe!)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/219647 (not sure if I played this one correctly, ended up being lucky, but feedback appreciated)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/219659 (was a bit worried for overpair in this one, what would you have done?)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/219667 (probably todays' worst play, at least in the good session... just lucky he didn't reraise me *cough sucker*)
Anyway, so the session ended up $52 after todays 1000 hands, thanks to a $115 win streak. Not really happy with the result, but pretty happy with the way the session ended anyway.
BR: $786

To be, or not to be, that is the question. Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows....
what the fuck? as I type this at 1pm I am still drunk from last night. I was pretty convinced I could tackle a Pint of Hot Damn 100 and a 12pack of beer. I made it through the pint, and got a few beers in, although it's a murky and hazy memory.
I also got high for the first time last weekend while camping. I was convinced that there was a conspirary in the campground because the slope there that was maybe a 10degree decline turned into a 75degree decline whilst high.
It also felt like my face was melting and everything everyone said was so interesting, and I just had the most awesome deep thoughts.
It burned the shit out of my lungs/throat though. I think I'm gonna go grab the rest of my beer and continue drinking into the wee hours of the night.
btw, nickelback and hinder are the fucking most annoying terrible pop shitass bands ever.
ps someone plz buy me a laptop, this computer is a piece of shit, save me plz, or rather MezmerizemePLZ
I guess that's a pretty good blog

| | NL25 by NeillyJQ, June 27
What a fun day of NL25 today was. So I started out playing very fast on NL25 and well, it was definately not panning out at all. I was down about 6 BI's after two hours, and buckled down and started playing my absolute best poker.
Before I knew it, I started running better and picking my spots very carefully. Being down as much as I was, my focus was extremely intense as well as my intuition.
I managed to win back the 6 BI's I lost and two more on top, to finish the morning off on a great note.
Here are my stats from todays session:
During current Hold'em session you were dealt 6336 hands and saw flop:
- 462 out of 871 times while in big blind (53%)
- 236 out of 844 times while in small blind (27%)
- 703 out of 4621 times in other positions (15%)
- a total of 1401 out of 6336 (22%)
Pots won at showdown - 162 of 326 (49%)
Pots won without showdown - 842
I'd go through analysis of the hands, but after 18 hours of playing *6 hrs of tournaments and 10 hrs of cash with a few small breaks* my mind is just too spent to give the hands appropriate analysation.
Lets just say that I was making some careless mistakes in the beginning, revamped my mind and started playing my A game. I REFUSED to quit before I got above my even point, and did just that, and managed to pull a nice profit on top of it.
Tomorrow I will post alot of analysis of todays hands before my new session begins.
I also got to get alot of FPP's that were very much needed. I'm getting closer to supernova everyday, I can't wait.
Best of Luck To all of LP on the tables!

| | A perfect session? (+72.70) by KingKory, June 27
June 23rd - 27th, 2007
Today's summary:
http://www.coryland.net/uploads/pb062707.jpg
Commentary:
Played a session Monday (-$30), then skipped Tuesday because I had a bit too much wine at dinner Monday night. This morning I had one of the best sessions I've had in a long time. I could do no wrong; stacking people left and right, and my biggest loser was $3.50. But you'll forgive me if I'm not jumping with enthusiasm - I've been down this road before.
The Tankman decided to take a fat shit in my guest bedroom in the middle of my session this morning, and it smelled like fucking...well, dog shit, I guess. And it was pure mud, too. I think I need to change his dog food.
http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/8300/img2687en6.th.jpg
We had a birthday party to go to on Saturday, so Jessica made a nifty little hat for Tank. Pretty sexy, eh? AWWWW YOU CAN SEE HIS LITTLE PENIS TOO!
Enough of that nonsense - on to the hands!

I had some difficulty with a player this session: LordTacohead
He's TAG++. 15/14/4, and I've never seen him not fire a second bullet. Showed down a mid-pair winner against him a few days ago.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/219561 Haven't seen him 3-bet pre-...ever. But he does know I'm capable of raising SC's UTG though... Thoughts?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/219562
Any suggestions on this type of player?

Top winners:

Top losers
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/219549 My entire losses on Monday are contributed to this one hand. The rest of the session was even.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/219550 Kind of a weird hand. Comments?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/219551 NICE HAND DOUCHEWHISTLER
Hands of Note:

http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/3173/runningootsm3.jpg
Wee finally got my game together (or I'm running extremely good ;D) and got out of NL25. I moved out of FTP because I was doomswitched and couldn't win ! I'll miss the rakeback though, but you can't have everything ;D
I'll see if I'm going to update this blog more often. I'm a very bad writer though
But anyways, think I'm going to play another 7k hands at NL50 and see how I'm doing, then move to NL100 if I feel good about it.

| | Muck-encrusted supervillains to your rescue by fira, June 27
7:30 AM tbh I don't know why I'm still up. Played some poker earlier then read some convo between me and floofy I had saved. Ugh
also found these, innovative enlightenment

http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p9...orethanyoulovecats/Charles-Monkey.jpg
as of now I unno what to do with my life. I'm switching colleges in October, WoW is surprisingly still entertaining, poker is poker, life is good. But when you look at the bigger picture, or rather, the biggest picture, nothing seems to matter. Humans are so insignificant in this universe, and what we comprehend could be less than a microspasm of true wisdom and understanding. Ants in an ant farm do not know they're being observed by higher creatures, because they do not have the mental capacity to comprehend much more than serving their queen, gathering food, and decorating their homes. What is out there in the universe and beyond, nobody knows. If space stretches out into infinity, anything imaginable and not could exist.
Furthermore, what is the meaning of our existence? All of our goals are the same - to live a happy and/or successful life. What happens in the end happens to everybody. Then why are we here? We were meant to be born, grow old, be revealed a negligible glimpse of existence, then disappear. Are we an experiment? Are we part of a greater cause we cannot even begin to realize? Maybe, maybe not.
Time is an interesting theory. Time is often known as the "4th dimension." A fixed dimension, that alters the other three dimensions. Emphasis on the fixed. I don't believe that time is a variable, nor do I believe in the concept of "randomness." Let's make a constant - Alpha, which represents the chronological standing of the creation of existence. Let's pretend that out of nowhere, for unknown reasons, matter in its simplest form was created, at exactly time Alpha. Let's also pretend that exactly one year later from Alpha, the matter has somehow, for unknown reasons, formed into a planet, with simple life forms. One hundred billion years later, a life form known as fira is typing on his computer, writing this long pointless essay not really about any topic in particular. Now stop at this moment, pretend that Alpha to ALpha+100,000,001 years in itself is an individual segment of that which represents time, known as Alpha Earth. Now pretend that in a different universe, dimension, or dome of existence, an exactly identical particle at a second Beta hour has been created. The environment and factors are identical to that which Alpha Earth was created in. This matter, like Alpha Earth, would evolve and progress in the exact same way, would it not? Since the factors in the very start of Beta were identical to those of Alpha, there wouldn't be any reason that Alpha and Beta result differently in one year, or 100 million years, or until the end of time. All life forms, including fira, in both planes, would still be typing his essay, undaunted by his sleepless schedule he has unconsciously permiitted himself of.
Having said all that, the concept of free will is put into question. If time is a fixating constant of the other three dimensions, then it is time that is progressing each and every one of our futures, not ourselves. Bob is 30 years old, works at a company as a software engineer, and drives a large truck. One day as he's driving home, he spots an attractive young virgin walking on the street to the right, and at this exact moment when his attention was not fixed on the road ahead, he crosses over the train tracks and gets hit by the passing train. There were no survivors. Was this tragedy really a misfortune? Or was it just another event in the passing of time, set to happen infinite years ago, by the powers that unleashed Alpha? Did Bob really have a choice of how he would live his life? Of course, Bob was not suicidal and did not want to be hit by the train, nor did the passengers on the train want to murder Bob, but neither had a choice. All occurrences, like Bob's accident, are the product of infinite years of the evolution of Alpha. Every movement we make, every breath we take, every thought we believe are contrivances of our own knowledge and brain activity are actually the products of Alpha. We are puppets in a never-ending theater, given only the sense of freedom.

tats the kind of stuff that makes me say i'm not indifferent to 15 year old, ok
so obviously i tell him to go fuck himself since its not even true. then he open that topic. so i replied some stupid replies and asked travis to close it before it degenerate.

Poker greets me in the morning with a loss of -4 buy ins. It's a vicious cycle of eye popping suckouts and tilt of the banana phone caliber. Not a good way to start the day.
Afternoon gives me an opportunity to make things right. My gains fluctuate more violently than a baby in a rotating dryer.
Evening comes. Finally the powers that be permit me to hit my outs. I finally finally finally manage to get back to even after the last few days that were just dispicable. Hellmuth Blackbelt Poker videos are worth their weight in gold.
I also poond some BGH newbs today. Nothing gets my confidence back up faster than broodwar.
