Still running decent by DustySwedeDude, July 04

So well, I've gotten 5k hands in so far this month and I'm pretty happy about that. I've done decent (^^) so far too.

http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/257/stillrunninggoodmn0.jpg

I'm running really good and my opponents makes my pee pee go rock hard when I think on all the money I can take from them.

Titan VIP club is a joke by sTrAtO, July 04

If you go to:
http://www.titanpoker.com/en/poker/vip_club.html you will see the following table:

http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/8989/titanvipok3.jpg

For some reason my status was upgraded to Platinum instead of Gold. So I have, apparently, 1 more freeroll to play in.

So was searching for those Monthly freerolls when I see that you have to pay a HUGE amount of titanpoints to play in them. LOL? Then why they say that the tourneys are freerolls if they really arent?...

This is my talk to their online support:

-Polly: I apologize for the long wait. We try to attend to all our players the quickest possible time. My name is Polly and I’ll be glad to assist you in your concern.
sTrAtO: Hellow.
sTrAtO: I got a question about the VIP Club and its tournaments
-Polly: Okay.
sTrAtO: Im Platinum and my Special tournaments are:
sTrAtO: Weekly $1,000 VIP Freeroll
Monthly $2,500 VIP Freeroll
Monthly $5,000 VIP Freeroll
sTrAtO: http://www.titanpoker.com/en/poker/vip_platinum.html
-Polly: That is correct.
sTrAtO: as you can see it clearly says: FREEROLL
sTrAtO: now, when trying to registering WHY do i have to pay 2500 and 5000 points to play there?
sTrAtO: it makes no sense.
-Polly: Are you sure that you are trying to register to the correct tourney?
sTrAtO: yes
sTrAtO: I go to All schedules tournaments
-Polly: I can see the schedule here and it does not require points.
sTrAtO: then sort the tourneys by name
-Polly: Try to go to the Weekly $1,000 VIP Freeroll and you will see that the buy in and fee is zero
sTrAtO: yes
sTrAtO: the 1000 is 0
sTrAtO: but the monthly's cost
sTrAtO: I sort the tourneys by name and go to "M"
sTrAtO: Monthly VIP $5000 tp 5,000+0
Monthly VIP $2500 tp 2,500+0
Monthly VIP $10000 tp 10,000+0
-Polly: Oh okay, Francisco those tourney really requires points for you to join.
sTrAtO: but why? those are supposed to be freerolls
-Polly: It will not affect the points that you are earning for your VIP upgrade.
sTrAtO: what do you mean?
sTrAtO: that i will recover them anyway
sTrAtO: by the next month by playing 24/7 to mantain my status?
-Polly: Those points that you use for that tourney does not affect the points that you earn for your VIP upgrade.
sTrAtO: oh i know that
sTrAtO: but thats not the point...
sTrAtO: then send a msg to your webmasters and tell them to change their VIP club special tournaments
sTrAtO: since those are absolutely NO freerolls
-Polly: Francisco even if a player is not a Platinum VIP member and has those required points they can not join those freerolls.
sTrAtO: its like:
TItan: "hey you can play at the WSOP Main event FREEROLL"
Me: "wow thats very nice"
Titan: "You have to pay $10,000 though"
-Polly: Freeroll does not always mean that there's no Buy in and fee.
sTrAtO: Ok, thats a very very bad "Benefit". And I clearly disagree to pay in the:
Weekly $1,000 VIP Freeroll
Monthly $2,500 VIP Freeroll
Monthly $5,000 VIP Freeroll
sTrAtO: Thanks for your time.
sTrAtO: Have a nice day.
-Polly: I hope I have helped you with your concern. Will there be anything else that I can assist you regarding this issue?
sTrAtO: no thanks

It really made me laugh when she said "Freeroll does not always mean that there's no Buy in and fee."

That's my boy! by Verbloten, July 04

I just got to work and my phone rings. It's my wife.

She says - "What have you done to our son?" - i'm like wtf? Both my boys and my wife were fast asleep when i left home. They are going to a Wiggles concert today (Wiggles are a v popular kids music group which my oldest boy (3) absolutely loves).

So my wife says to my boy when he wakes up -

"Are you excited about going to see the Wiggles today?" to which he replies

"No me not wanna go - me want stay here and play poker"

"It's the Wiggles!"

"My wanna play poker!"

Oops?

Getting back into... by kantoiki, July 04

Before i start talking about Poker just a general update on my life since i last updated.
Exams were terrible (for those who don't know I'm currently studying Business Management at RMIT), I crammed for pretty much every subject except for Marketing and even that exam was a bit shoddy and not the best.
So the results coming out in a few days time are going to be terrible but sadly not a suprise. Guess i'll be repeating some subjects, great.

Saw the Transformers movie when it came out in Australia, apparently it came out here BEFORE it came out in America. WTF? Why? Someone explain how thats possible not that i'm complaining, its a very good movie and does the cartoon justice in my opinion even though it had plenty of blatant product placement.

http://chrisallensite.com/wordpress/images/poster_transformers_new2.jpg

I'm about to start reading Jenna Jameson's "How to Make Love like a Porn Star" which is her autobiography and not as the title suggests a sex manual.
http://a2.vox.com/6a00c225277ced604a00cd9702ccfa4cd5-500pi

Richard Dawkins "The God Delusion" is next on my list of books to read, both of these books i've borrowed from Luke who informs me are an interesting read.
I'll probably offer my insubstantial opinion on both next time i update this blog.
Oh and my Xbox 360 has now got the red ring of doom. What a beat huh?

http://www.consumerist.com/assets/resources/2006/09/redring.jpg

Not that i really played it all that often, it was more of a whim purchase while i was working at crown and the only game i wanted to play on it was PGR. If anyone knows how i can get it repaired in Australia give me a shout out.

Another beat; I recently got myself hooked on Big Brother even though I've always been a firm believer that the show is pure garbage and despised anyone who liked it. This is what boredom and laziness does to an individual. Instead of being motivated to go out and find something to do I turned on the television and watched people who were doing exactly what I was doing, nothing. Their occasional conflicts and how they interacted with each other in addition to the activities Big Brother threw at them had me addicted before i realised.
I'm now condemned to watching the rest of the season to its finish like the BB junkie I've now become.

Alrights its 7.30am and i'm still yet to go to sleep so I should quickly outline my recent poker related news. Therefore to most of my RL friends this is where anything that interests you has already been said so just ignore the rest.

So after a long period of time where i was kind of taking a break from pokergetting back into Dota and making a half-hearted failed attempt at trying to get my clan into fighting shape Ive gotten back into poker.
Basically Justeen who is a mate of mine started playing about 4-5 weeks ago and had managed to move from 25nl to 100nl in about that time.
With his luckbox burn it forced Jonno (lilclinkin) Luke (Karma) and I to jump right back into poker playing a whole lot more in order to subdue the incoming cocky taunting from this short asian guy with a girls name.

Anyway to my distaste I was forced to start at 10nl where i built the 300 i had left myself online to 500 in about 2-3 days before moving up to 25nl. The 10nl stakes were even softer than I had previously imagined, and I had previously thought a 10 year old could beat it.
In my mind 10nl is now beatable by anyone with hands to move the mouse and bet.

I then played 25nl 6max for the next 1 week and mananged to build up to 1k in that time.
Moved up to 50nl about 2-3 days ago and about 8 more buyins and ill be starting to take shots at 100nl which i look forward to.

Anyway thats all from me for now,Goodbye (or the shortened form, goodby, sometimes used in American English, or simply bye) is a traditional farewell phrase used in the English language. Most scholars agree that the phrase originally derives from "God be with you."
It has also been suggested by some that it originated from "God buy [redeem] you".[3]

Now noone can say they didnt learn anything from reading my blog.

July this far... by Peligroso, July 04

So, we're in July and it's time to update my whine blog again. I haven't been able to play as much as I had hoped to the last few days and have only got 1350 played hands so far in July. The result is crap again, -$88.

http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/321/graphgf5.jpg
Pretty depressive graph.

Some hands:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224006 (yay quads)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224011 (another nice hand)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224014 (77 vs QQ)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224016 (KK vs JJ)

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224019 (33 hit set and lost)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224021 (out-rivered vs same guy)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224026 (out-rivered vs same guy again)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224029 (QQ hit set and lost)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224031 (hit trips but up against flush)

Not really defending these hands, I know I could have saved pretty much money by not doing some of those moves on the river (but still fucking hell he was a lucky piece of shit). And yes, as you might be able to tell, it still has me slightly tilted and that's why I'm currently not playing. Think I'll go watch some High Stakes Poker and keep dreaming.

Vegas Update Part 1 by JonnyCosMo, July 04

Yo it's me again and I'm finally back home after Vegas. Was a pretty sweet ass trip for the most part. So sweet that me and Pavel decided we'd go back next monday and stay at the Wynn for another week! LOL.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/WSOP01.JPG

So I'm just going to post some pictures from my cam in the order I took them and try to explain the moment. So here is when I went to the Rio for the first time:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/WSOP02.JPG

And I saw TwistedEcho playing a $1500 event:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/WSOP03.JPG

But he ran bad and busted later that day. My friend Dustin Dirksen made it pretty far in that event though. A few days later he ended up making the final table and got heads up for the bracelet. Sadly he got it in top pair vs two pair and the guy held to cripple him out in 2nd place for $360k. Here is the picture from Nobu when we went out to celebrate w/ him and his roommates:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/WSOP04.JPG

Next day we got to rail Daut playing the Mixed Hold'Em event. Obviously Daut is a member of the KKK:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/WSOP05.JPG

On the other side of the room is my favorite mo-hawk PBDrunks getting pretty far in another $1500 event:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/WSOP06.JPG

For the most part, most of my time in Vegas was spent in one place: The Wynn Poker Room. Later that night we met up with my boy Max aka acidca on PokerStars. He's obviously one of the most vicious poker players ever:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/WSOP07.JPG

He put down the sickness at the 2-5NL for about 2 hours before he went on total monkey tilt and lost all his moneys. Here is SakiSaki and MangoD playing at the same table:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/WSOP08.JPG

And here is me! --->

http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/JonnyCosMo/WSOP09.JPG

So this is only the first batch of pictures. I will be back tomorrow with another batch. Please prepare yourself for whats to come~

Make a bunch, give it all back by T8Suited, July 04

A tilty Tuesday night session more than negated my strong play earlier in the evening, as I was down like $30 for the whole day.

I was up $200+ in my 1st session, mainly due to me stacking shorties left right and centre at one of my tables.

I also had an extremely hot table during the late night session, but at my other tables I was trying to deal with the regulars and get even with them after I lost a few small pots. Good old ego got into my winning ways again. Why didn't I just leave, I didn't know.

Interesting hands from the 1st session:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/223537
Biggest lost of the day -- AK vs KK preflop all-in

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/223538
Bluffing with 44 into a turned full house =(

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/223539
TP-backdoor flush vs flopped set

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/223540
Trips in a raised pot = $$$

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/223541
Reraising preflop with 22, and flopping the set. That's "all she wrote" for my opponent.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/223542
It was obvious that I was hanging around with a PP. Meanwhile gawdawful's flop check was enough to convince me that he didn't have it.

~Hands from the 2nd session later~

back home by SakiSaki, July 04

So I just arrived back home in Sweden. Its really sad :/ Turns out that all the lp people are fucking awesome and it really pains me to leave them so soon. Im a bit too jetlagged to do a huge writeup but in short I had a really great time hanging out with all the ballers and miniballers and I will definitely come back next year, and stay longer.

I do have some pictures that I will upload in a not too distant future(one includes a sneaked picture of TJ Cloutier playing craps at the bellagio ZOMG!)

Brag: up about 7-8k on the trip.
Beat: never got to go to the spearmint rhino with elky
variance: Didnt hang out enough/never hung out with some off the lp ppl like ket, rain, echo myth, elky and rekrul.

ship it

I run bad live too - cool! by Verbloten, July 03

I found out last night that i also run bad in live poker!

So i was at the pub last night for my weekly live poker game. About 5 tables - $5 buyin. Busted early - nevermind.

So i join a SNG table. Busto early with gay stuff that i played perfectly like a turned trips with A kicker against aggression where i got off soo cheap against a guy that turned the FH.

Second SNG i join a few hands in i get dealt AA. Wow - things are looking up. A few limps, i raise big - a few calls (they are all calling stations pretty much) and take that hand down and knock out one player in the process.

Next hand - i look down - AA. Well fuck me don't remember that EVER happening before. Raise and call before me. I repop again. All in. All in. All in. (3 way all in).

88 vs TT vs my AA. Flop is x x T (bugger!).
Turn is A (yeh baby).
River is X.

I knock out two more players!

Couple of hands later - JJ. Get it all in on the flop vs 99 and holds up. Knock ANOTHER player out.

3 handed was cruel to me - but i get to HU with about the same chips as the other guy.

Final hand. Look down see QQ. I raise he calls.

Flop is Qd 7c 2s. I'm OOP so i check. He obligingly bets - i push. He says "aahh ok.. i call". He turns over Tc 6c.

I'm like - ship me the winner's checque baby!

Turn is 8. River is 9.

Hooahh! by kiNGoFraGE, July 03

Hi,

Ive just ended another session and it was a profitable one:
http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/9976/day3xx2.jpg

I started session badly, because I got one cooler:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/223337 geeez siick

After that I was down one BI. I won some small pots and after about 1.2k my profit was $10. Then I got a 10min break and after that I back to play.

I have few hands, I wanna talk about:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/223338 ugly
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/223335 hmm this guy was very loose and I think that I messed up because of not valuebetting
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/223333 wanted to represent a flush (he was tight one and making some big laydowns)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/223339 he made a huuuge read =]

I think that till the end of the month I will be moving at NL100 (I want to habe $4k bankroll to play lightly).

Cheers

Always stars great by nolan, July 03

I think ever since I've played online poker I've started the month off on a heater, then go through a dry spell, then end on a heater to recover.

This month no different.
http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/7418/julych2.jpg

Breaking even in full ring however. (Above graph is 6m).
Expect a whiny post to come soon.

Also I'm going to do a ton of traveling soon so don't expect me to be around much.
