so i decided to make a blog for serious by MadeInPolanD, August 16

i thought about it for some time, and i decided do run a blog. A little background maybe:

I'm a student of Warsaw Institutte of Technology, for now at least, 23 years old.
I don't remember exactly when i started playing online poker, but i think it was around spring/summer 2005. Two friends showed me this game - marknazzal and tomsOn, and for that i owe them, cause i don't know how my life would look like now, if i didn't know about online poker, they also brought to the game Eo. and StratusS, so there was 5 of us struggling to win $ from this game, as much as we could. I started playing freerolls on regular basis ( cause i never wanted to play for my own money ) there was absolute, pacyfic, poker.com, and couple other sites. But it was hard to win $, cause there ware so many players in every tournament and so small number of players in the money. In December tomsOn gave me like 50$ to play, cause he thought i was wasting my time with freerolls. I played on PS and made enough to give him back, what he gave me, but than i lost everything ( my game was so horrible back than ). And then was a breakthrough, i got 10$ in casion-on-net - part of Paccific poker, and i played there on machine to make 20$ and get it from there to my bank account. When it was there i didn't know where can i deposit it, and marknazzal said to deposit to EverestPoker, and i did. It was 21.12.2005 and the money was on pokerroom on 23.12.2005. I started playing there from NL2 like everyday, moving up with 25BI, moving back on 20BI. After some time i got to NL200 and couldn't make it to stay on NL400, but eventually with help of tomsOn and Mark i improved my game and i did enough money to start looking for an appartment to rent in Warsaw in january 2007 and become a Pro ( well, a low stakes Pro i guess ).

For the last 4-6 weeks i was handling my downswing. I lost ~60% of my BR at NL200 and i wanted to get it back. I made it and soon after that i took high place in an MTT tournament, so i can play NL400 safely - for my state of mind. I play for now 4 tables NL400, i used to do 6-8 of NL200/NL400 for the last couple months.

I have my exams in September ( cause i failed in June so much ), so i should be learning.

To take my mind off i run on racetrack, exercise with dumbbell and barbell, meditate and i trained Taiji for some time. I also played tennis for many years, i enjoy swiming, sailing, pool, bridge.

And i love Tequila. :D

I hope this blog will help me to improve my game, and overall in my life, cause it will make me wonder about stuff I do every day, and i will be able to look at things from perspective.

Okayyy, time for a change by Trey, August 16

So I've been winning at 5bb/100 over my last 50k at nl100. I have 15k hands at nl200 and I'm winning at .33bb/100. I think the people are adjusting to my nit style and my weak/tight cbet-fold style.

So I'm getting a coach (again). Not sure who yet, but I've been looking at a few and discussing positives and negatives of each. Hopefully this will teach me how to loosen up and really destroy some of the regulars.

Not playing much i know by SKoT, August 16

Been playing too much natural selection(CS mod).

Still going to try to make gold star this month but ill need to do 50nl full time to spike it. Up 4 buyins today at 25nl over about 1k hands. Running decently well, people are still awful, etc.

BR just hit an all time high and im thinking i should start 50nl full time because the game seems exactly the same the couple times ive dicked around with it.

anyway, sven's doomswitch just went on so keep him in your prayers.

toms new career by byrnesam, August 15

lets all be supportive.
they all laughed at michael jordan when he tried to become a baseball player after retiring from basketball - dont let the haters get you down Tom! I BELIEVE IN YOUR TALENT!

http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/910/tombuild1jq2.jpg

The first local competition he entered. Despite the small field of 3 people Tom managed to take home bronze. Well done tom.

He decided he needed something to give him an edge. He managed to pick up these - they were on sale, reduced to clear.

The results speak for themselves.

Nighttime heater @ NL10 by NeillyJQ, August 15

After dinner I decided to get back on for one last session of the night, and played confident focused poker for almost three hours. The session went well, as I kept playing by the raise/fold mantra, with a few exceptions.

Before I knew it, I was playing better than ever with multiple tables over 3 buy-ins.

I was sucked out on a few times too, but all in all, this was a great session.

Stats from the session;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1781 hands and saw flop:
- 115 out of 242 times while in big blind (47%)
- 52 out of 244 times while in small blind (21%)
- 144 out of 1295 times in other positions (11%)
- a total of 311 out of 1781 (17%)
Pots won at showdown - 44 of 65 (67%)
Pots won without showdown - 202

Off to bed, I'll be playin tomorrow.

GL everyone,
Ryan (DReaMe)

well.... by proteus, August 15

I'm another 25nl on ftp. I've been playing for a year now and have accomplished very little. Went through the usual route; tilting, moving up limits way out of my br and and just simply playing tired and way too many hands/hours in a day. Luck hasn't improved, and I doubt it ever will, I just need to work on my game/discipline to become a winning medium stakes level player which is my goal before the year ends. I've won some already at the microstakes level and I'm totally ready to move up soon. Wish me luck

i finally know now by eekmice, August 15

from my previous blogs u'll probably know i dropped a huge chunk of my br at 50NL. I thought it was tilting sessions but apparently the culprit is.....ALCOHOL.

Man i'm not as gosu as rek and i can't drink a lot and play well. I misread easy ass boards like a 4 card flush and bet it out when i have none of those flush cards. since i have class at 8am, i stopped drinking on wkdays and since playing 25NL sober i'm pretty much up at least 2 buy ins every day.

damn as much as i love alcohol, i should not drink while i play cuz i need to play in order to make money to buy alcohol. aka money >> alcohol

settling down by nutshot, August 15

Sup Nits -

So on Monday night, I received a stake from Trey to play 4.40 180-man sng's, and 6.50 single table sng's.

The first 4-table set of 6.50's I played really sucked...lost some flips and was card dead... so I figured, let's play the next few 4.40s that open.

I final tabled three at once, lol. I got two Wins, and a Fifth. I didn't play last night, and today I got an 11th and a bunch of losses in the 4.40s.

I just played a set of 8 6.50s, and came out +$29. Three first-place finishes, and five out of the money.

So far, I'm up about $400 on the stake, and feeling great about my play.

More importantly, I'm hoping the light of BR management has finally gone on in my head, and will stay on. It feels great to be playing within a bankroll right now. When I would go over my head in the past, it would be because I either a) owed someone, b) wanted some extra IRL cash, or c) [enter stupid reason here].

Now I don't owe anyone money, I have plenty of $$ IRL, and I'm just feeling a lot better mentally. Hopefully this is the beginning of something very good for me.

NL10 Night session by NeillyJQ, August 15

I've been falling back into my groove and playing raise or fold poker (with the exception of 4/1 with sooted hands and my pocket pairs. Its brought me down to 12-14% and has me playing very confident poker.

I'm having more fun and expect my winrate to continue to increase daily.

Heres my stats from tonight;

ing current Hold'em session you were dealt 940 hands and saw flop:
- 46 out of 130 times while in big blind (35%)
- 16 out of 126 times while in small blind (12%)
- 58 out of 684 times in other positions (8%)
- a total of 120 out of 940 (12%)
Pots won at showdown - 12 of 27 (44%)
Pots won without showdown - 108

I ran pretty shitty, having a few sets flopped against me in the matter of a minute, and flopped an underflush for a stack in a raised pot as well.

Finished down 1 buy-in but am playing great, hopefully tomorrow will go better.

GL everyone,
Ryan (DReaMe)

Runnin good! by Cro)Deadman, August 15

Well today I've discovered that Noiq tables can be minimized which allowed me to play a ridiculusly low number of hands compared to that what I played on stars (Here 2K stars 6K a day)...

So I've managed to play with 13 tables with np now and due to that ran pretty good today, played nitty, bailed from risky situations unless I thought I have the odds...

And I ended up being up 11 3/4 buyins at 2K hands!

Since I don't know how to adjust my grapher to show only the current day, since Im still pretty bad at using any pokertools...You'll have to take my word for it!

http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/9389/graphxc9.png

P.S. Big thanks to a finnish guy from this forum which helped me about figuring out PokerAce...Too bad I still can't config it haha.

And massive love going out to RH,DReaMe,Artanis and Moloch!

Dell 30 in. - Yea or Nay? by Sloverville, August 15

Dont have it but i want it. Anybody have any first-hand reviews of it? Is it worth the money?

Found a picture of it on the internet.

Also, got me a brand new truck. Shipsters...

With the UofL license plate to boot.

Pokerwise, struggling at 50nl but made up for it in the heads up games and at 100nl as well.

GL at the tables.

NL2 & NL10 by NeillyJQ, August 15

Today I started off on NL2 and played for an hour, and was playing well. I decided to move back up to NL10 and ran really well, but had a couple sick coolers at the end of the session, as well as 1 mistake which cost me $10.

At the end of the session, I finished up almost 2 buy-ins. I've stopped worrying so much about the % I am playing, and started attacking all the +ev at the tables. I'm starting to feel like my old self again at the table, and hope to continue my way up the limits.

Heres my stats from todays session;

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 1889 hands and saw flop:
- 126 out of 259 times while in big blind (48%)
- 44 out of 250 times while in small blind (17%)
- 152 out of 1380 times in other positions (11%)
- a total of 322 out of 1889 (17%)
Pots won at showdown - 43 of 64 (67%)
Pots won without showdown - 160

And here are the mistakes I made today;

I just couldn't find myself to give him enough respect to lay this down...pretty obv he had me beat now that I think about it.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/251593

In this hand the villian just shoved allin the hand before to steal the blinds, and had a feeling he was making this play lightly. Figured w/ the amt of chips I had, and he had, he would auto-muck hands in this range.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/251573

I couldn't find myself to fold this, even though its pretty obvious the only hand he would reraise here is JQ, since 99% of the time he won't have AK/KT/AT here (most would raise preflop)

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/251513

Heres my hand of the day;

Villian was raising often and felt as if I was a large favorite PF. Thought he might have flopped the joint but I'm not mucking this.

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/251523

Well, I'm off for the day,

GL everyone,
Ryan (DReaMe)
