| | Mid-Challenge Update by NiagaraPoker, September 14
Just finished a small session of 50NL and I have tried playing less tables (4) too see how that works for me and to ease into NL50 this time. I found my decisions were a bit better and I booked a small win. 5.4/100 in 750 hands.
After some thinking I feel I need to improve a few things about my lifestyle that I will be doing in the upcoming weeks.
1.Try and get on a better sleeping schedule
2.Go for a 20 minute run each morning.
3.Start smoking less each month.
4.Make time to keep in touch with family through e-mail.
6.Purchase a decent bed.
Also I got my Full Tilt t-shirt and casino quality deck shipped to me today after a long 3 week waiting period. but I did not have to pay any fees as previously stated in a thread. So that's good I guess. Looking forward to getting a second monitor soon.
Good luck at the tables.

| | Wake me up when september ends by Daut, September 13
http://www.liquidpoker.net/staff/Daut/asof914.JPG
I've been running insanely hot this week, but i feel like im playing very well. Despite that, i can still feel room for improvement. im very motivated to try to move into bigger games, but im a huge bankroll nit and will probably wait till i have 40 buyins (online bankroll) for any level before moving up. So i'll continue grinding 3/6 -10/20 for a while until my online bankroll is back up to 200k ish and then move back into 25/50.
Wcoop starts tomorrow and im pretty excited to give tourneys another go. i came close in 3 events last year but couldnt close out anything better than a ft 2 table finish. hopefully i can pull down a big score this year.
anyway. ill come up with some good mspaints next week when im in ac.

| | Quitting poker / nice SNG win by T8Suited, September 13
Quitting poker until I submit my thesis. That will be almost 2 months from now. For now I've uninstalled Pokerstars from my 2 work PCs and my home PC.
Going out on a high note:
This is nothing for some SNG shark, but on the other hand it's my biggest win ever. Stars turbo 45 man, $25+2. Finished 1st for $340+. Struggled for the most part, got into the money when a big stack pushed AK into another big stack with AA. Fun time suckouting out and eking up the money ladder.
The Tournament Trimmer (v0.7.6) was developed by JeffreyGB at http://www.FlopTurnRiver.com.

| | The days of UB came back. by anon, September 13
August
http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/4954/400nlpw2.jpg
And now my current situation just sucks, i am so pissed of, lost, confused and worried that i have no clue what to do next with my life. So 3 weeks ago everything was just perfect. I bought an apparment, for 100K$ thou i took 60K$ loan from a bank, i had left my self 14K in br and 15K+$ for reconstructions in flat. I felt very secure at this point, since i only need to pay 400$ a month for the mortage, but then everything started, since first of the september everything went wrong poker whise. Since then i don't think i had atleast 1 winning session, just like half year ago on UB, where i was on a huge downsing for 3 monthes, but i was lossing slowly and playing a lot i lost half of my roll back then, and i managed to lose my half roll again dropping from 14K to 7.5K$ in just hm. like 20K hands?, everything just goes wrong, i can't win a single coinflip, my high PP don't ever get action pf, my pockets don't hit, i get sucked out constantly and set ups are my friends too. So basically now i sit at computer being so lost and not knowing what to do futher, should i keep on playing poker or should i just cashout and find a normal job so i would be able to pay mortages, i simply don't know what to do. Why this shit had to happen right now..... coudln't it wait for few month or happen few month ago? T_T that's poker i guess.
Damn it just kills me inside the way i feel now, so unsecure about my future, today i even wrote an application for the job i think the salary is like um 500$? w/e i could give a try for i guess, that could bring confidence back to my life.
I think i have made a mistake buying a flat, while i still have 2 years to study and depend on poker, these kind of spots can just kill you mentally.
Well i have thise weekend competely free, so i will give a last try for poker (100nl probobly) before i will make any important decisions.
Also i considering to change the software, just i don't know where i should go, i was considering to move my entire roll to battlefield, any comments on that would be appreciated.

| | Bullshit Session by Critterer, September 13
Sigh down like half a buyin at nl10 over 1.2k hands
Busted outta my tournament with two sick sick shit hands in a row. Firstly overs+flush draw vs bottom pair on flop, no help for me, half stack gone. Then i pick up kings, allinpreflop vs 77 and he gets a set, busto. Great stuff.
Cash games was equally awful, so sick session, just nothing worked, the 80/4/6 donk set me up for 2 buyins, im never ever folding to him. Got into mass cooler situations, lost just about every 70/30 i got into and got backdoor straighted backdoor flushed u name it.
I think i played really well, with the exception of a couple of setups i got my money in way ahead each time so thats good.
Made a couple spews but its more minor shit, shame its set my BR back to $460, i was at $490 at one point in the session but nevermind, thats pokerrr
Pokerev says i ran 6bb/100 below what i shuda but fuck pokerev
Nl25 im coming back soon.

Short vid, only ~15 mins, 22mb. Quality should be fine.
I just moved back down to NL25 after losing too many buyins for my liking.. thought why not make a vid while playing and if anyone watches, get some feedback too.
Oh, no sound so put some music on if you're going to watch.

| | Saturday's goals by Cooperstown, September 12
Being that it's getting to be the last weekend of decent weather here in Wisconsin me and a few of my friends have a very large goal and hopefully I will have plenty of pics to post. One of my friends owns a house on a large lake in the area and also a pontoon(spl) boat. The plan is 6 of us and his father who was kind enough to volunteer to be the designated captain are going to do our best to float a half barrel and kill a handle of two of rum. I'm hoping to be incoherant by 3:00pm and if all goes as planned the six of us will be at the bars pulling by 10 if we can manage to walk. Pictures soon to follow, let the fun begin!

| | 50k hand Challenge Update. by NiagaraPoker, September 12
So after beating 25NL in about a months time I set myself a goal to beat 50NL in 30 days. 10 days in I have played maybe 8500 hands so far and I am honestly pretty disapointed and frustrated. Tonight being the 3rd time I moved up to NL50 and ran horribly being forced to move back down.
My results have been pretty bad but looking at all my hands in PT I really should be winning a great deal. It seems I just play NL50 get a combination of set over set/set vs overpair/overpair vs FD or something and it knocks me down to 25NL. I crush there, move back up. Repeat. The thing is, I really like how I am playing right now. But I seem to lose a VAST majority of the time when the money goes in vs a short stacked player. It sounds strange but it seems the players at NL50 are actually worse than the previous level. They are throwing money at me, but for some reason... getting there.

It seems like I have a hundred of those hands. I know it's just variance losing these so often, but losing to short stacks this way makes me go crazy.
I am not playing the required hands to meet the goal I set for myself, but it's difficult to play my game when I consistently lose as a 4/5-1 favorite. Anyway, needed to rant a bit perhaps. Hopefully the next shot I take I can actually win a pot.
Take care kids.

| | fun weekend coming up by nutshot, September 12
Hi Nits:
I'm leaving in like 13 hours (3PM EST) to take a short 1-hour flight up to Syracuse from my place in NYC. What's up in Syracuse besides hicks and awful college football teams? Who knows! Let's go find out.
It's actually my friend Brian (BJLTNYK)'s 21st birthday today, so I'm heading up there for a weekend of fun.
On the list of things to do:
-bars
-bitches
-house parties
-live heads up play*
-bitches
-beating his and his roommate Matt's ass in FIFA on 360**
-getting back on the bball court, running 3 on 3 in the gym
-MTT domination on Stars by all involved***
*This is easy money
**This is easier money
***This may include WCOOP #1 - $215 6-max NLH
Any other suggestions for fun are welcome. Leave them here, and we'll take them under serious consideration.
Enjoy the rest of your week, and your weekend.
Mike

| | hands from session by shaneomac, September 12
ive finally taken the steps necessary to concentrate on playing poker and being more focused and not half assing it. i feel as if i played well in my session, a losing session, but i had some hands i need help with. ive been running poorly the last few days and its taking a toll, but none of these hands were effected by it. please any input would be great.
1. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/271002 is betting out here better? both lines look SO strong.
2. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/271001 is this ez fold? or just cooler?
3. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/271000 i thought i could valuebet here. i was thinking the Q didnt help him and he didnt have a T. he probly had like 99/88/98. if he raises me i fold obv. i felt i had him beat. even so is this a poor bet on the river?
4. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/270999 i am not one to stack off to limpers w TPTK but i didnt feel he would limp 99...so that leaves 77 and well i figured he could have a much wider range than JUST 77 since thats super slim. i guess i was wrong bout him limping 99. nonetheless is this a horrible felting by me?
5. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/270998 what do you normally do here? just fold it?
6. http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/271004 just a cooler and another hand of running bad . happens tho
thanks for all input i really appreciate it!
