Update by Gawuss, October 08

I decided to update my blog every week, cause it has kind of died. I think that the main reason I haven't updated my blog for a long time is that I just didn't want to whine about my losses in every entry. I still don't run really good, but it seems like I'm gonna start winning. I just need to focus more and analyze my game. Ok, so here are my stats from this week (it's Prima, Boss Media and UB)

http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/5722/10710statsys0.jpg

Also I've noticed a new option on UB. You can now take a credit from them and play even without having any $ there. ( LOL )

http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/5936/ubnewoptiondk5.jpg

So wish me good luck with my 'goals'. Hopefully I'll improve my game ( and my BR obv) pretty fast that I'll be able to play 2/4 in November again

GL to everyone,

Mike a.k.a Gawuss

Grinding it out by beethreekay, October 07

I haven't played all that much over the last week or so, and I ran pretty bad when I did (I tilted off a buy-in or two as well, as you do):

http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd230/beethreekay/08102007.jpg

25NL is so soft that even running bad, I can make money here. I can't think of many hands of note to post up, so I won't bother.

I still have a ton of leaks in my game I need to work on, such as being more aggressive on later streets, not making stupid "hero calls", overvaluing QQ+, and general tilt issues.

Playing a good amount in my super-soft live game too, and making a nice profit. Just finished a session there where I made the equivalent of about two-thirds of my online roll in one night.

just finished in 2nd in a live tour ;P by keuner, October 07

hi,

in the last days iplayed not that much so i decided to play lil live and at my place there are no card casinos so i palyed a lil event:
30€ buyin
6th-4th:just random electornic stuff
3rd:100€
2nd:150€
1st:300€

so its soudns very bad but uve to see the view of the director.
he has to pay for the location the 3 dealers(26players),random electronic stuff, chips, tables, hes from munich so he traveled liek 700km to my place and he organized anything so its fair.

as usual i was the very best.there were only big fishes.one hand was very funny i got AKo raised 3times BB flop Ks2s4o
i bet he called.turn 9s ichecked he checked.
river 7o i betted he folded and showed As7s.
yeah he fodled the nuts.coz he not knew that this combinations is possible;P

at first structure was very good:10k stack blinds 25/50(20mins blind increase) baad at the end only crapshoot so when we were hu we had only 88bbs left and i got 88 went all in he called with A6.river A so i lost for 150€.
but iam happy coz i like money and i got a seat in the supertournement where the first one get a flight and ghotel for 6 nights in lasvegas with 800$ for buyins and 800$ pocketcash;P

so wish me luck

playing a lot by shaneomac, October 07

so the past few days ive been playing as much as i can because i have received some coaching and i feel like i am playing the best fullring poker i have ever played. i understand it really well and am playing great, but still running bad, but its ok. i understand now when everyone says they have these massive streaks where they run bad, mine has gone on a while, maybe not as long as some of yours, but i almost feel better having gone through it to be honest.

ill post a really cute hand i played earlier:

Update by Svenman87, October 07

Hrmmm well 100 NL FR/6-max has been going pretty well for me.
Yesterday i broke into the 3.5k range

So I decided to mix a little 200NL into my session this morning

Bad Idea

2 set over set's in the first 10 minutes.

Ended Up Leaving -650 from the 200NL tables alone.
Overall Session -550

Still Kinda hurts >

I guess I will rebuild and take another shot when I have about 5 or 6k.

Even Taking Shots with about 20 Buyins hurts when you lose one a lot more than it did taking shots at 100NL

Anyways <3

Gotta go Peace
.
.
.

EDIT:::::::::::::: IMPORTANT :::::::::::::::
.
.
.

I'm also looking for a mentor or a coach that would sometimes take a look at a hand I need a little help on etc.

I don't really want to hire a coach because I don't need hours of teaching, I'm just talking about a few hands here or there or to talk poker theory with once in a while since SKoT is always drinking (slut stop doing that) and never plays anymore.

Poker logic defied by T8Suited, October 07

Another session during which I run at those shitty PT numbers. Shitty except PTBB/100:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2305/1506193792_e295d5d81f_o.jpg

I ran really hot at the beginning, but cooled off at the end. Luckily, and again, not many postflop squabbles, and not many suckouts against.

Lots of big pots tonight:

http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/289721 AA Seriously I'd fold if I do not hold my lucky charm (Ad)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/289720 22 Dream come true flop
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/289719 AA On the good side of the confrontation
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/289717 99 Set of 8s no good. A somewhat bad suckout in my favor, but I got the rest of my stack in to compensate for bad pot odds.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/289718 J9h Set of 8s no good. Same nit who earlier raped my Kings.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/289716 J9c Set of 8s no good
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/289715 QTc Set of 8s no good (lol theme is getting old)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/289713 AKc I was only worried about preflop coldcaller

Cooler (or is it?)
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/289723 KK against a nit, I kind of saw it coming, but couldn't fold it at the end.

Big Bluff
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/289722 97s Judging from the chat I think opponent got bluffed out.

I made like 3k in 100NL in the past week
Why am I playing 100NL with a 9k bankroll I don't know

I like by SneakrFreakr, October 06

So I played quite a long session today and won some moniez. Run quite ok but lost like 4 out 5 flipz for stacks when the moniez went in on flop and had some tough coolers (I think). I've been playing really nitty in the past few days but it works really good for me so oh well. I've just counted my BR and turns out it's at its highest point ever. 16,5k BR yo! I'm probably going to cashout like 1,5k in a few days though cause that's what I got from rakeback in September. I was supposed to cashout whole rakeback every month cause I thought it's gonna be like 1,2k or so but turns out I'm playing a lot of poker now (for me it's a lot) and in October I'm expecting to get over 3k in rakeback so I've got a dilemma whether I should cashout all I get in RB or just 1,2k (that's about what I need every month). More moniez = more ballin but leaving some portion of RB online = bigger bankroll = higher stakes = more ballin. Meh I dunno. I want to get a decent roll for live poker though so I'll probably keep cashing out whole rakeback. Anyways this month is going really good so far. Up like 4k at nl200 and nl300. If I don't get on a sick dowswing this is definitely gonna be my best month ever. Here are stats from today (oh and again - plz don't laugh at me, I know I'm a nit ):

http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/9121/aassdfa6.jpg

Won at SD at nl200 is kinda cool.

And a graph cuz it's sexy:

Oh I forgot to say about the party that was yesterday. To be honest it was dissapoint. Yeah, there were loooaaaads of peoplez but nothing special except happened and it was semi boring. But some bastards stole mah bottle Jack Daniels and mah beers. That's what I would do to them if I knew who did this:

Rebound - Determination by NeillyJQ, October 06

After my complete idiot donkass run, I managed to rebuild my roll to close to 2k within the last two days.

The downswing taught me alot, and playing vs the competition I was against, now the NL100 and NL200 games are fairly easy.

It was literally one of the worst days of my life a couple days ago, winning 6k then losing it all in one day.

But I've rebuilt, and I'm back.
This time I will manage my br better.

I played alot of HU today;

During current Hold'em 1on1 session you were dealt 656 hands and saw flop:
- 84 out of 328 times while in big blind (25%)
- 57 out of 328 times while in small blind (17%)
- 0 out of 0 times in other positions (0%)
- a total of 141 out of 656 (21%)
Pots won at showdown - 24 of 44 (54%)
Pots won without showdown - 304

GL everyone,
Ryan (DReaMe)

mission failed :) back to NL10 by PplusAD, October 06

Okay at the beginnig of the month i had about 750$ bankroll
now i am sitting there having 278$ left ....

okay on the first note one might think it is impossible to lose 18 buy ins on NL25 sh in just one week without being a total fish.
I mean its not that i lose money ! Its that i get utterly destroyed having always -4 or -5 buy ins sessions for the last days.

And i would agree to this statement.
However i analized my game alot the past few days and i cant find any major leaks that would jsutify such an aguly crush on microstakes.
I also won 250$ on NL25 over 26K hands the last month .. which i assumed to be at least a hint that i am not doing wrong every single play.

Preflop : I play pretty tight like 17/14
I play the good hands , i know about position , i know about implied odds for pockets, i know how to fold AQ to a 3bet oop ... i know about which hands are good in 3way pots (SC) and which are good heads up.

My preflop game is just pretty standart decent ABC poker

Flop game :
When i was preflop agressor i do oop
Continuation bets on good dry floops.
fe. A55 AT2 QQ6 and so on

And i dont do a continuation bet oop on ugly flops like 8TJ suited.

however i do continuation bets of 2/3 pot size in Position after everyone checked to me.

think that part is also just pretty standart ABC Poker

Evaluating and playing Hands on flop and turn
I am pretty sure i know at least the basics of ABC postflop play.

I am rather tight postflop in general
And know about : protection [giving draws wrong odds ], pot building[valumaximisation by making the pot big enough to get money in on river] , odds, implied odds, outs, discounted outs ... and i know what different betsizes usually mean.

I also pay attention to PAHUD stats of my opponents and i
wont call with AQ on a QT4 when a 12/6/2 player c/r me on the flop after he Limp called from early position to my LPraise.
I consider being behind here vs TT 44 QT the majority of the time and having no outs due to my A completing a KJ straight i am able to fold this here.

I can also read boards and i see flush draws , straight draws and i know to keep the pot small when they arrive on the river. I know the difference between a 3/4 way pot and a HU Pot.

I think my postflop play is pretty decent ABC most of the time.

playing draws
I am pretty sure i know the basics of ABC draw playing.
- I raise my draws when i see fold equity
- I call my FD and OESD when the odds + implied odds give me about 1:5
i see implied odds as getting 1/2 potsize bet on the next street if my draw hits.

I dondt play risky with gutshots or medium draws on a dangerous board
f.e low flop FD on a paired Turn is often a fold for me

I play my very big draws very agressive
OESD + FD , 2 overcards + FD + Gutshot and such stuff
I raise and reraise with them.

I am not 100% sure but i think thats standart ABC poker.

I also know about 2 barrel bluffs that i use on rare ocassions after my opponent showed weakness.

yeha i could go on a little but i think nobody will read this all.

so where do i lose the money
well most of my typical losses are similar to the following situations.

1.)
I run with KK, QQ , JJ into a coldcalled preflop overpair on an undercard flop and get it all in on teh flop after 3 bet action.

usuall flop action .
I bet , villian raises , i 3 bet -> villan all in -> i call.

well i have the opinion that it is hard to get away from this situations cause of the preflop coldcall.
any thoughts ?

2.)
ANother source of me losing money is hitting a good hand on a draw heavy board.

exp.

I have QJs on a JT4 suited board Flop Villian bets small i call.( i dondt have flush draw)
i hit my OESD on the turn and after a villian check i bet -> get a reraise from villian and call. He hits his flush on the river bets out big and i call.

Well i call due to the pot allready being big and assuming villian wont checkraise with a FD on turn when OESD completed ? thoughts ?

3.)
Flush vs higher flush
I think that is just variance but happend too often in the past week
I lose KQs OJs flush to A2 ,K4 flushes like almost always the last 6K hands ....

4.) Hitting 2 pair on the flop
Whenever i hit a medium 2 pair on a flop i raise big for protection + value ( i assume i have the best hand with a flopped 2 pair ?). opponents either fold or when they call the hit their draw or better 2 pair.

okay enough for today.

I will go back to NL10 with my remaining 278$ and change from Party to Ipoker.
i want to play 6max NL10 which isnt offered on Party.

besides that Ipoker has like 20% rakeback at microstakes in form of monthly cashbonus.

Update by SugoGosu, October 06

So I have been running in variance recently. I have made my bankroll to about $35 from $20 when I started a little over a week now. In my last session, which was about 400 hands (2 tabling on 1c/2c) the hand of the session was:
+ Show Spoiler +

Overall I think I'm improving a lot. I am able to get a good idea of my opponents cards just by the way they react to me. I havent played poker in the last few days due to work (10 hours a day, following school, I'm still in high school). Come graduation in the spring, I wish to increase my bankroll to at least be able to play 10c/25c. In order to do that, I must play a lot more than I am now. When I reach $200 I will move up to 2c/5c.

Let's see how that goes.
