| | Took a shot at $100NL this week by 27s, March 20
Thats right I took a shot at 100NL again. I've taken a few shots before and it just didnt feel right. I didnt feel ready, and actually remember my hands shaking and getting these weird shivers in 3bet pots. I'd end up feeling anxious, stack off at the wrong time, lose a couple hundred bucks in the session and back to fitty cent I went!
Fortunately this time was different. I psyched myself up for it, and felt good about it with my bankroll sitting at $2700 after my RB hit my account this month. I decided I'd allow myself to lose $400 While taking the shot. In my previous attempts I did notice that the play was really no better than NL50 so I just decided to do what I'm used to make things as similar as possible for me. So I did just that, and opened up 9 tables and got down to work knowing that this was going to cost me $400, or I was going to succeed.
Well since Sunday night I've put in about 17 hours of 9tabling for 11k hands. Here's my graph. The swings are pretty big, but overall I feel I've been playing well and not letting the money phase me or affect my game in any way.
Ship it!

| | WSOP Main Event - Pokerstars. by TheHuHu, March 20
The world's largest online poker site, PokerStars, has announced the launch of their World Series of Poker (WSOP) satellite tournaments, where, unlike other sites who are only offering only 150 main event seats and assorted freeroll entries, they will again send over 1,000 players to the WSOP's main event, and offer poker players the chance to win prize packages worth $12,500.
CASH BONUSES FOR TOP FINISHES
And that's not all. PokerStars qualifiers who make it to the final table at the WSOP Main Event will win an automatic cash bonus:
# A cool MILLION for bringing home the Main Event's first place trophy.
# $400,000 for finishing in Second place
# $300,000 for finishing in Third place
# $200,000 for finishing in Fourth-Fifth place
# $100,000 for finishing in Sixth to Ninth place
Cash bonuses of up to $50,000 also are available if a sponsored player makes it to a WSOP "TV table."
"If I didn't win a $39 satellite on PokerStars, I would have been on the sidelines at the 2003 WSOP," said Chris Moneymaker, who rode his PokerStars prize to victory in the Main Event.
"This year's prize package is even more incredible and the prize pool is set to be its biggest yet," he added.
Registered users can test their skills to win a ticket to the "Big Dance" for free, at PokerStars.net.
The full prize package also includes:
# $10,000 Main Event buy-in
# $2,500 for expenses
# Free hotel accommodations at the Palms for eight nights
# Hotel suite upgrades for Supernova and Supernova Elite VIP members
Holy fuck, once semester is over I am going to play every fucking satellite for this shit. I never knew Pokerstars pays for all hotel accommodations because I thought the $2,500 was for that. Nice!!!!

| | Live tourney #1. by TheHuHu, March 20
$230 MTT at local casino. Two key hands. I had A8 on a A8K all spade board. I bet 2/3 pot, donkey overbet shoves with QJo but with the J of spades. Obviously the T comes on turn and I'm down to 6 big blinds at 25/50. I build my stack up to 900 and now blinds are 50/100. UTG idiot (really bad player) raises 4x and I look down at 99 in the C/O and shove. He calls obv and has AJo. Flop is T82 and I'm like fuck yeah. Turn is a J and river is a J. Fuck him.
I'm happy with my play obv but it's frustrating as fuck.

Yesterday I played a short session ending break even. Today I started out getting sucked out on but played really well throughout the rest of the session. Towards the end when I was ending my session I noticed a huge retard at one of my tables. So I decided to just leave that table open and do something else while I 1 table.
Heres the first big hand today:
nut straight vs 2p allin on turn + Show Spoiler +
AA vs JJ overpairs allin on turn in middle of session
+ Show Spoiler +
This is the hand that made me stay and 1 table + Show Spoiler +
a little while after I started 1 tabling funny hand

Other than these I just won a lot of small to medium sized pots mostly against 09handy.

So easter was going to be awesome. All my childhood friends(and me) whom all have moved to diffrent cities for college/university was coming back to our home town and I was looking forward to getting drunk and having fun with them all since I havent seen em in a long time. Today I called around and every single one of those fuckers have gone away to diffrent random retard places. That sucks ass, Im very dissapointed. I guess ill have to wait for the summer or something. BLEH
I consoled myself by apesmashing retards at 2/4 instead and it worked out goodie:

HU is fun sometimes.
I guess my friends being away isnt all bad, I really need to study, have like 1k pages in boring books to read for an exam next thursday. I will also have plenty of time to play das poker and thats good.
Im starting to think a little about vegas this summer, hopefully I will be going and if anyone is setting up a house or something(anything but the jockey club plz) let me know.
Thats all for now

I really dont care about the program too much except for what it tells me about my green line in relation to the other lines... or more importantly how I am playing postflop.. the luck thing is w/e we all run bad because we are better than who we play against so they have to suckout in order to keep coming back yadyadyayaa w/e who cares aabout luck!!
http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/2066/marchsofarag8.png
Anyways basically means I still suck postflop and I need to grind moreee hands....
And Im probably +10k in 2/4 6m which is where 75% of my play has been and -5/6k in 3/6 6m lmao... sigh
Theres work to be done!!
Peace

| | Life by Spitfiree, March 20
So i've been pretty much thinking about life and i m not really sure that i can write everthing i am thinking of and feeling right now.Not sure that even my brain can proccess it all.Nothing good or bad happened to me really regardles of everything i just feel good.So what i've been actually thinking of is how good life really is ( yet again nothing really good or wever happened to me to just have all this inspiration from ) u know shit things can be happening to you but thats good too and u know why ? Coz in the end they just make u better person if u understand them from the right side ofc.So u can call me naive silly and etc. but if u really think about it - i am right.I dont really get all those emo kids - > what are they trying to accomplishe really ? Do they really think anybody cares about them pitying theirselves? All this commercialism kinda sucks but eh thats what media is all about - brainwash people.Anyway what i really mean is people should take everything from their best side. You can tell me - what if something reaaally bad happened to me like my house go t on fire or one of my parents died.Well yeah sad things constantly happen to people and u know thats what life really is about but everything has a good side if u can find it ( in a really weird way finding the good side about something bad might be really egoistic dont really know if u ll understand this though). Well thats about everything i had to say/write/.Im sure that most of u wont understand me well its not the best place to post a blog like this but uh i guess i have faith in this place.
P.S. Im not on drugs.

| | Love tourney hope. by TheHuHu, March 20
I am looking at the results of the poker tourneys that a local casino is hosting (also will be hosting $7,500 WPT tourney at the end of the month) and for the last three days, the SAME person has taken first for all three tournies ranging from buy-ins of $200-$300 with average of 100 entrants. Now, no one can run this good because it's so unlikely, my only assumption is that these players suck.

| | LOL Downswingaments :) by Bejamin1, March 20
All-in luck graph since January 1st 2008. Pretty depressing for a 50PLO and now 25PLO player as a result of the downswing. Hoping it will get better and also doing my part analyzing all my all-ins and looking at spots where its better to flat a large flop bet and then jam safe turns rather than jamming flop etc. Keep in mind this all-in graph counts negatively the high number of times where 80-90% of a stack is invested on the turn and then theres a small all-in call on the river when I've already been sucked out.

I know my blog is a lot of downswing lately but thats pretty much what I've been experiencing so sorry if its depressing guys . Cheers.
*Edit -- Just thought I'd tack on today's results. Sustainable IMO this isn't even running good... just not running cold.

| | Wynn Classic: Pre Main Event by JonnyCosMo, March 20
Right now I'm back in beautiful San Diego loving life as usual. Vegas over the weekend was such a blast, as I brought out some of my closest friends from SD to come party with me on Friday. Unfortunately they didnt arrive til past midnight. Earlier in the day I had final tabled the $2,000 NLHE event at the Wynn Classic with ElkY. Our final table was a lot tougher than the final table I had in my $1,500 event. I had two pretty key highlight hands in the $2,000 event I'd like to share: First came in the 2nd level 50/100 blinds, when I was moved to a new table with Frank Rusnik (aka Round42). I've been playing pretty tight/aggressive for the most part, almost never getting too out of line. So it gets folded to me in the cut-off and I open to 300 with QcJc, the very loose button player calls me and Frank Rusnik repops it to 1050 from the small blind. I look at this and think it's such an obvious squeeze spot for him to be doing it in, plus he's been repopping people a few times in the short period of time I was sitting at the table. So I shove for 4850 total, button folds. And Frank tanks for a good 5 minutes before folding QQ. ROFL? Sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sick, how do I get away with such murder rofl. The second key hand came after I had acquired a big stack, I had 46,000 at 300/600 w 50 ante, action gets folded to the button who raises to 1600. I reraise to 5,200 from the small blind with QQ. Action gets back around to him and he raises all-in for 33,500 more. Ummm, gross? I don't think I've ever folded QQ with these button vs blind dynamics online, but I've noticed in these live tournaments that people who 4 bet usually have the nuts. The problem was, the guy was young and seemed to be an online player. What made it really a tough spot was that we were both top 5 chip stacks in the tournament at this point. I thought there was a good chance he could have AK here... but even then it wasn't a real good spot for me to commit on a flip. Then I asked myself if he would ship in JJ here? The answer was a clear no. With that in my head I folded after tanking for a good 5 minutes as I told the guy "I never fold this online... ever". The guy on the button turned to me and asked if I folded queens, and I nodded, and he insta had a sick look on his face as he mucked his hand. Later on he claimed he had KK there, although I'm not exactly sure if I want to trust the word of some of these guys in these tournaments, so I kind of just was like eh ok.
The bubble lasted forever, close to 3 hours to get from 18 players down to 10. During that time, it was a total roller coaster ride for me. I had an average stack right on the bubble, then ended up losing a flip, then reshipped AQ from the SB vs a button raise and he woke up with KK and held which crippled me. I found myself all-in with 14 left with 44 vs AJ. The flop came K-K-Q and I wanted to puke a little. Turn came an 8, and river was a paint card so I figured I was out... but wait it was a KING! Ship the survival one time! With 14 players still left in the tournament I saw the most absurd thing ever: The blinds were 1500/3000 and the shortest stack who had 20k in chips, opens to 12k from middle position. The button who just came to our table flat called this raise from the button as he had a 50k stack which was also short. Naturally his flat call there screamed strength so I look down at AQo in the small blind and insta-muck. Flop comes 2-5-Q rainbow and the short stack puts in his last 8k into the 32k+ pot. And the button insta folds his hand!?!?!?! HoLy sHiT can u chip dump more to this guy? Insane stupidity... I can't even imagine what hand flats there preflop and insta folds the flop. So anyways, with 10 players left the tables get reshuffled and ElkY gets moved to my right with a somewhat big stack. I had an above average stack until this huge hand: I open to 8500 at 1500/3000, and get a call from the chip leader to my left as well as the loose chip dumping moron in the small blind. The flop comes Ah-7c-6h, and the chip dumping moron leads for 10,000. I shove for 42,000 more. The chip leader behind me folds, and the chip dumping moron insta calls with 9h8h. YUUUUUCCCKKKK~!!!! So now we are flipping for a 100k+ pot, and naturally turn drops the Jh leaving me drawing dead and crippled. I fold 2 hands before shoving my last 14k in the middle with A8, and got called from the big blind with A3 which doubled me up to 33,500 just as the day ended.

ElkY and I @ Final table of the $2,000 NLHE event
The final table was over quick for me as I said in my last blog post. I picked up AJ when the other short stack shoved from the cut-off and obv I snap called and he had JJ. GG. So that night we started drinking at 10, my friends arrived and 12, and we got to Tryst at around 2:30am with a big group. Unfortunately half our group were not let pass the front door (yes that means mig's roommate Blair who was totally smashed while we chilled at Parasol Up). The rest of us had a pretty sweet time:

| | Bavaria Munich! by Luna_Bluffgood, March 20
Best club in the world imo. I was always for them, but I've grown to love them over the season. Unfortunately they weren't in the champions league this year, but they lead the german bundesliga by 6 points, they are in the quarter finals of the Ueafe Cup against Getafe from Spain and have a good chance of taking that down, and last night they qualified for the final on the german cup. (I was there live in the allianz arena and it was awesome. I realize I sound like a 14 year old boy atm, but I never developed any kind of major enjoyment for a club, so this is new for me. Looking forward to taking down 3 titles this season.
Got this for my birthday:

On a totally unrelated note, I managed to cut my bankroll in half at NL200 6max, which means im basically break even over 55k hands this yearh (made 1k in cash but down in tournies). Dropped down to NL100, which is going mediocre, but Im confident I'll be able to rebuild and move back to NL200 in the near future.
P.S.:
Check out the video of a couple of LP guys and me in Copenhagen, if you have not done so already. My role is rather small and I always look like a dork in front (and also not in front of a camera), but we sure had a good time and I think this video is a great parody of your general Cribs high stakes baller type rawvegas.tv crap (which I in enjoy watching, although its total nonsense)

Anyway, thanks for reading this and I catch you later.

- Be a millionaire in 5 years
http://mindpetals.com/wp-content/images/ambition.png
So I’ve moved up to NL100, now I’m on the verge of making some decent money.
I question that I’ve been thinking about is where will I aim from here?
My main goal in poker is not to be the best in the world but just to make some decent capital to begin building assets. I’m going to play poker while doing a lot of reading on the different forms of investing, accounting and business law.
I’ll do this while I complete my last uni courses this year.
In terms of making money at poker, I think its vital to treat it as a game, and play to win.
For the moment some long term poker goals
1) keep on moving up using my current bankroll strategy of 40 buy-ins. I want to get up to NL1000, then play in whichever limit will be the most profitable.
2) Get a long term poker coach, feel I need to focus on game flow and turn/river aggression.
3) Spend at least an hour per day doing some kind of poker study, analysing ranges on hands I played, watching cardrunners vids, reading books, participating in discussion on forums. Be a student of the game.
4) put in more time. Its good to take breaks, but when I’m running well I should be playing more.
I also intend to set achievable weekly goals, for both poker and study.
For this Easter weekend I will attempt to make money to live on for the next month or so, because current part time work income needs supplementing.
So current bankroll is 5.6k anything over that on Tuesday evening I’ll cash out. My goal is to simply play good poker for at least 8 hours per day over this period and whatever will be will be.
I’ll update with a new set of weekly and month goals on Tuesday.
Right, now I’m fired up. GL All kekeke
