Home game hand?
wilddamon, Aug 22 2007
The second time I've ever played live poker lol, I believe the others play regularly. I just went along for shits and giggles.
Got into a weird spot, tell me what you think:
blinds are 25c/50c, buy in is $25
button: (about $50)
Jack: ($20)
me: ($19)
silver: ($32)
jack posts sb
I post bb
dealt to me: QKo
silver: folds
button: calls 0.50
jack: calls 0.25
I check
flop: Q 9 T rainbow (pot $1.50)
jack raises $2
I raise to $6
button thinks for a while, then min raises to $12
jack: folds
Me: ? (I have $13.50 left)
button and jack have been monkeying around a bit, but button hasn't been out of line in any big pots.
He did show down (and won) with a random pair of 4s earlier, but that may have just been a sick read.
as for online, doing ok, short session this evening since I'm supposed to be studying for a test that's tomorrow morning >.>
During current Hold'em session you were dealt 352 hands and saw flop:
- 50 out of 77 times while in big blind (64%)
- 28 out of 77 times while in small blind (36%)
- 37 out of 198 times in other positions (18%)
- a total of 115 out of 352 (32%)
Pots won at showdown - 16 of 33 (48%)
Pots won without showdown - 52
total won: $8
It's weird how I've made the most money overall online on Wednesday nights, you'd think it would be the weekends when all the fish are out...
What is this?

watch it.

Too many times I've clicked on the wrong place since the window popped up on top of what I was trying to click on.. I've accidentally min bet or folded several times lately -_-;
I'm stupid.
My internet sucks.

It cuts out every couple of hands or so
Stupid telecom and their "managing" traffic.
And stupid flatmates for downloading crap so that we are being "managed" by telecom for having high traffic rates.

Not much has happened here.

I started off on the $50 promotion with Titan poker, ground it up to $60 over 1000 hands or so at $0.01/$0.02.
Won back my money on VC, up to $13 from $3 over about 3 sessions (say 1000 hands as well I think). God it's so boring playing one table so I played on PS as well.. it's annoying how the windows pop up over each other.
however,
I think I'm a donk.
Here's some hands from tonights session.
I would have been up considerably had I not donked off a few stacks here and there.. and a few 1/2 buy ins here and there too.. -_-;
Points to remember:
- Do not c-bet into a pot that still has more than 1 or 2 other people in it!
- Top pair isn't always the best hand!
- Set of 4's < flush especially when there are 4 flush cards on the board!
- Sudden big bet on the river after calling often means the draw hit!
- Do not call if you don't think you have the best hand! (well duh)
T_T. Stupid... I think

Have to say I had no idea what he was betting on on the river. Or generally calling down with. I still don't know
Although any king does the job.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224370
I was worried about the flush draw too. Lucky card on the turn and boom!
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224372
Is he just giving me money?
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224376
I shouldn't do this. T_T;
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224384
Lol whut? Is he trying to ship me the money with bottom pair? But I have to say I was worried about the random all in on the river.. thought he might have pock 5s or slowplay or somewhat.
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224393
Here, dunno what was going on with the all in guy, but Suicidal must have been suicidal. or trying hard to ship money my way. Good for me
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/224399
I'm sure I should have smelled a rat.
Donktastic.
T_T;

Yay, a good hand to finish off my session. Dunno what the other guy was playing at. Still, I'm sure I shouldn't be so passive -_-;

I think posting last night got the tilt out of my system. I played a few hands this morning with pleasing results.
I'm up to $31.34, not bad for my third session.
The biggest pot I've been in yet was LOL:
http://www.liquidpoker.net/h/217916
Since 96 off is the greatest starting hand ever lol.
The AA was a bit annoying, but yeah, whatever.

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 430 hands and saw flop:
- 40 out of 61 times while in big blind (65%)
- 3 out of 60 times while in small blind (5%)

Played a few hands today. Overall I think I played well but I must remember not to do stupid things like call with KK on a board with 2 aces on it -_-;; especially when I (correctly) put the other guy on an A..
And if I have a read on someone, go with it, don't second guess myself.. and don't call all in with AJ.. That's just stupid (he had KK)
I guess I was a little on tilt with a full house losing to 4 of a kind early in the session.. Must try not to get emotionally involved at all.
lool
Oh yeah, I finally managed to pass the quiz for the free $50 on Titan Poker. (lol what?! -_-;; ) Gonna go sign up!
During current Hold'em session you were dealt 440 hands and saw flop:
- 42 out of 68 times while in big blind (61%)
- 10 out of 66 times while in small blind (15%)
- 28 out of 306 times in other positions (9%)
- a total of 80 out of 440 (18%)
Pots won at showdown - 7 of 19 (36%)
Pots won without showdown - 24
Total won: (-$0.53)
Off to a good start...

gotta love it. I forgot to save the first 600 or so hand histories for Poker Tracker though. oops.
However I started this morning with $10, now I have $21.50.
So I am up $11.50 over 843 hands at $0.01/$0.02 on Stars.
I think I could improve my winrate by being more careful about betting that goes to showdown >.>; 52% won at showdown.. That can't all be stupid hands where I have absolutely nothing and neither does anyone else so the person with A high or a pair of 2s wins.
During current Hold'em session you were dealt 843 hands and saw flop:
- 66 out of 115 times while in big blind (57%)
- 14 out of 113 times while in small blind (12%)
- 50 out of 615 times in other positions (8%)
- a total of 130 out of 843 (15%)
Pots won at showdown - 12 of 23 (52%)
Pots won without showdown - 44
A New Era..

Warning, the following blog contains extreme nittiness
Hi everyone, I've been lurking around Liquid Poker for a while. I just played my first cash games on stars, and I am pretty happy with the results. I played 3 tables at $0.01/$0.02 for about an hour and I am up $2.60. Now lets pray it wasn't beginners luck!
During current Hold'em session you were dealt 95 hands and saw flop:
- 7 out of 12 times while in big blind (58%)
- 2 out of 15 times while in small blind (13%)
- 6 out of 68 times in other positions (8%)
- a total of 15 out of 95 (15%)
Pots won at showdown - 2 of 3 (66%)
Pots won without showdown - 3
(I warned you - extreme nittiness!) but I won almost every pot I put money into.
Back Story
I - Eddy - haven't been playing poker for very long. I have played starcraft, like many others on this site, albeit not overly well. I am also somewhat of an amature artist, and I study engineering at university.

I began playing poker when I won $50 at a $5 buy-in tournament with some friends.
After that I have been playing quite a bit of play money on PokerStars. I played using a bankroll strategy where I moved up when I had 100,000. I had to move down once when I suffered a succession of bad calls (probably bad plays by me ), but I've played through. I had a long period where I couldn't stay above 800,000 but I read over some hands and thought about my play more carefully and got through.
Since I broke 1 million I thought I'd have a go at real money.

I've been reading the guides and reading over hand discussions here and I hope you all will help me become a better player!
PS. I also played some play money on VC Poker. Does something look a little wierd on this picture?
