i see quite a few really good players and a bunch of names i dont recognise or vaguely recognise but with such a small turnout and considering the buyin i cant imagine there'll be many spots or many big mistakes being made. could be wrong / being nitty but the tourny doesnt sound like a huge roi proposition

wobbly_au   Australia. Dec 18 2011 15:10. Posts 6540

Well this is easily the softest 10k online event i've seen to date.

I see atleast 10% identified fish, then i dont even recognize 50% of the ids which is really good because i would have played with almost all the good players at this point...

There wouldnt be more than 30 players better than Deepstacked NLHE than me. And thats me being super generous..

so 10% are fish and you claim 23% of the currently registered players are better than you at deep nl? and surely there are a bunch of top mtt players like supernova statusup djk gboro elky who are likely better than you when it gets shallow too? doesnt sound appealing so far:/ i believe you're +ev but i dont think even the guys with the highest rois in this have a big roi

wobbly_au   Australia. Dec 18 2011 15:20. Posts 6540

10% are known fish, ur forgetting that i dont even recognize half the names.

but seriously go through those names, and list the people u think are better than me in deep NLHE, this tourney is basically 25/50.

I would be tonnes better than elky or any other tour only player until it goes <40bbs

gl wobbly but i think Ket is right, lots of really good experienced MTT players, add in some good bumhunter HU regs that play mostly on eurosites and the field isn't as good at it seems just because you don't know half the players.

EDIT: nvm I'm dumb, I thought it was gonna be a HU tournament for some reason. Disagree with Ket i think you definetly have an edge.

Not going to comment on the value of buying action here, but 20% markup would imply that you have, on average, 20% ROI in this event (or more to make it a +EV investment), and I don't think anybody in the world could do that in the long run because of the toughness of the field. To be fair though, it's ok to sell at whatever rate you want to sell at, if people want to buy action, it's their choice, and people shouldn't EVER post that someone's markup is too much. The equivalent would be seeing something on sale at a store and screaming to customers that it's a bad deal and to buy it elsewhere lol. Good luck Wobbly :D

Why you are selling 1.2 to 1 when you dont have any tournament success and you are down in opr ? In this tournament the level of the players will be so high .

coz im one of the best NL players on stars? In this particular structure I am better than pretty much every tourney player.

Why do u not read my posts? Go through the player list and tell me who is better than me in NL deepstack. U'll find less than 20

yeah i agree with wobbly, despite not much tourney experience i expect him to have edge even versus tourney regs

uh lol? wtf -_-

So you see an iPad at 800$ on sale, but you know they are sold 600$ at other places, you are not gonna tell your friends/your community??

I think Ket is pretty much right about everything he said, Wobbly's ego is trying to convince him otherwise but numbers are numbers and it's never a great investment at 1,2. Might be an okay investment, but never a great one.

Everything in this thread is in line, cash game players always rate themself way to high in tournaments ROI, and they also have no idea of how close they are to their real ROI. I think its the communities job to give reality check to players, or else at this rate, in 1-2 years we will be paying 1.6 just because the guy beats NL1000

Actually no, it's completely different because it is business-oriented. The seller has every right to name their price, and the buyer has every right to decide whether or not they want to purchase pieces @ that rate. It has nothing to do with telling your friends/community what is right or wrong, but it is just a dick move to come out and kill someone's action if they're selling. People do it in other forums, and it is pretty standard practice for them to get called out for it, especially in large tournaments like this one where true ROI would be very difficult to prove. For the most part, I agree, it is probably impossible to have a >20% ROI in the field, but if that is what wobbly wants to sell at, it's his right to do it, and people shouldn't be saying "lol your markup is too high". If you feel that way, PMing him would be the fairest way to bring it up, not killing potential sales for him. Anyway, the point is, he was able to sell % at 1.2, and it's not anybody's business whether it is a "fair" price except Wobbly's and his investors.
