maybe not the most experienced commentator but alot better than for example the ones commentating the million dollar cashgame, we all know haxton is a competent player and therefore he can actually give some really solid input in how to play HU.
if there is someone i find annoying it is that brittish dude sitting beside roland de wolfe, his sick brittish accent makes me want to vomit =( |

Ya Isaaic Haxton does sound kinda nerdy but I enjoy his commentary plus some of his coaching vids. It's actually nice to have a commentator that has knowledge on the live poker and internet poker scene.
I wish Dwan would have made that one huge call earlier with the pair'd 7.
Sucks that the HU match had to end because of a cooler, yet it's kinda the other's guy fault for giving up his lead too.
Anyone else know the challenges besides Ziigmund? I wished they had more well known challengers take up the challenge : ( . |

Little match spoiler:
+ Show Spoiler +
Anyone think the cooler everyone was whining about was just a really marginal way to get 250bb in?
I was just kinda skimming it, but it looks like:
250k Stacks:
Durrr (AA) raise to 3k
Sammy (AKo) raise to 11k
Durrr raise to 33-38k. (His 1st 4bet of the match)
Sammy raise to 110k, obviously committing himself if he has any reasonable hand.
At this point, facing his 1st 4bet after a couple hours of HU play (just extrapolating since they don't show every hand), when he is getting bluffed here?
Maybe they just got it wrong and Durrr had been 4betting a lot more, but at 250 deep it would make sense he wasn't doing much of it.

i think that bluff (K9) was sick retarded
he had in mind durrr had crap and just shoved river...still having (for no reason) in mind that dwan had nothing
i mena its like 34k to call.... |
|
|
1
| |
I thought it was brilliant. He correctly put Durrr on air and as you saw, Durrr didn't even think for a second about calling and as Marcello said: how can you call even if it's only 20k more. Sure he gets like 7 to 1 on a call, but do you really think KQ will be good in this spot even 1 out of 10 times? It made no sense at all which is what made durr instafold, because he was 100% sure Marcello had the goods. I even think Marcello thought his King high was good even if durrr called, as he obviously put him on either a busted draw or a pure bluff. |
|
|

| |
no, you dont get it
durr is not folding an 8 99+ on that river
durr is not folding second pair either
Durr is not folding ANY PAIR that bet that river
ONLY way for marcello to win is to shove and be lucky durr has crap high
marcello had in mind durrr had crap, on the flop, turn and lo.....
even with durr's river bet he did not change his mind(which is retarded) and shoved
it was not brillant
it was a dumb play imo
its not like you can expect durrr to bet 97k on the river and fold very often...

well he said he had made up his mind on the turn. Obviously Durrr is not gonna fold anything but air, but they do have history so he must've been 99% sure Durrr had nothing to make such a play |

"Good morning, I feel I have to comment this hand against durrrr since I was imaging it was going to make rumors.
Before to start: I play HU almost at all basing on opp reads (that's the reason why i prefer to play hu). My first job in the beginning of an hu match is to decifrate my opponent. It is very important here to catch the tells, much more in live match than hu.
In this specific case, it's good to know it wasn't the first time i've played him so i knew the cards he likes to play, his opening range and betting patterns, even if it was the first time for live match.
So for the first part i've played pretty passive, concentrate in trying to stole as many infos as possible. Passive mostly in the 3-betted preflop hands, since he was tribetting almost everything. His range of tribet against opponents like me is almost all suited+same connectors+classic tribet hands+Kx that he likes that much. Thanks to this passivity i've been able to see many of his hands, trying to understand, to match the "messages" during the hand.
The famous K9off hand happens when the read are running and in an advanced phase, I don't want to say whit this that I had tells on durrrr but surely i was starting having ideas.
I'm in the sb with K9 off, stake 210k. i open 2.5k, durrrr reraise as usual till 10k. I decide to call. Pretty standard by now.
FLOP
8d 6s 3h
As tv comments says, durrrr checked often the flop after a 3bet. this time he bet 16.5k. I call, with the intention to bluff him, I wasn't clearly hoping to hit some of my outs...
TURN
4h
Very dangerous card, especially for him. I wait for a check even if durrrr likes continuing betting out in this situations because a check is too obvious, but my prediction is wrong and he bets, pretty a lot...36.5k.
I feel the unstoppable desire to bluff, my head is full concentradet on this. Possible holdings for durrrr are compatible with 3 group: AIR, pair TT+ (possible but not that likely imo), monster hand (yes but...straight? set? possible but unlikely since he doesn't like to tribet low pair. Last is a flush draw, even if i feel good with excluding it now.
I've now to decide how to bluff him. Many players wanna close here the match pushing or reraising a medium amount.i decide to exclude this possibility, imo it would be an error, even a big one: stacks were perfect to bluff the river.
I've had to think about a durrrr bet on the river that I can bluff on going all in representing a monster, thinking at the same time at a possible push on the river by durrrr or a check.
in my head i estimate the most likely amount of durrrr bet on the river and I think it will be (keeping in mind that the river card could totally change the picture) a bet of 80k. I decide there's room for my crazy idea. I did the same play at least twice before (against others). So I'M READY.
RIVER
8s (perfect card for me)
This time the awesome durrrr doesn't surprise me too much and even if that 8 made Ziigmund scary with 8 beers on his brain (n.d. i can't understand this phrase), my dear opponent bet a bit more than what I was waiting for: 97k. Now i spent the 3 seconds needed to think about my bluff looking at this wonderful river and at the bet slightly bigger than expected to verify the stack remaining and I PUSH!
I wanna say I've maximaized the size of the winning and I invite you to dress the durrrr shoes whit an high pair here. was anyone going to call the remaing 55k here?? And if someone would, he should feel like throwing money in the wc, at least.
Finally, i'm confident with of goodness of my play here. I make tons of errors and I hope continuing to do, it means at least I've the possibility to continue to play, but this hand i don't want to write in my errors, but, please let me once a bit of immodesty...lemme say is kind of a genial play! |
This is a translation by someone on 2+2 but readable. A comment by luckexpress himself. |

Nice dealer change at 36:30. Durrrr being gay himself and the opponent being an italian guy, that's about the best way to distract your opponent . |

I think these bluffs are incredible, even though I don't think ihgh pairs would be folded all that often, but a guy like durrr would not call if he thought it a waste of money. |
flop come 8 high river pair the 8 and someone bet again
it may be different if boards is something else
but flop 8 high river 8... |

meh, he claimed he had a read. Maybe durrrr bets too much on the river to try and deny river raises that luckexpress likes so much? There could be a number of tells |

so we both agree tom isnt folding any of is vbet hand here
marcello think tom is folding an overpair here...
about the board development...hmm i dont know
i agree with you when oyu said the 8 is at least as likely to be in Marcello's range as in Tom's..
but i mean... yeah i think you are right
i dont know im lost..im going to the gym
lol
one last thing... so do you think marcello's shove is good or its bad?
do you think hes doing the same on A K Q J T river?

Dwan is never folding over 90% of his vbets here, when Marcello shoves over instantly on that river you must hate even your AA, but he would just roll eyes up and say in that annoying tone of his "iiiii caaaaaaaaaaall..."
The fact that Marcello comments that Durrr cannot call with an overpair there makes it way way way less impressive, Dwan might fold the very bottom of his valuerange there only. |

i really think with how dwan plays that he would always shove the river with any of his vbetting range.
his bet on the river is so much more likely to be a bluff imo |

it is meaningless since luckexpress already decided to bluff, he even said dwan bet more than what he expected |

This is absolutely absurd, the equity of KK and AJ there is not the same, given the little money behind luckexpress might have valueshoved with worse than KK, its not always AA+ or air. |

It would be very unlikely for marcello to shove over the top here with worse than KK. Therefore KK and AJ are both have the same value |

Well considering marcello said "you have to fold AA" i dont think he'd ever be valueshoving worse than AA. |

What is he ever valueshoving, that is worse than KK. You either beat a bluff with KK or he is shoving better. He is never ever valueshoving worse. Seems pretty obvious to me. |
If he were value shoving 100k more then this would make sense, but given the little ammount left he could be valueshoving worse often, for example like if he has 5k left, he would move all-in with almost 100% of his calling range.
If he spazzes out with a higher ace or decides to turn a pair into a bluff etc, the equity with KK and AJ is not the same at all, Durrr would sigh and call with KK and probably fold AJ there. |
