Their software is really, really starting to tilt me. It crashes like every hour, and inbetween crashes it is like the tables lose their connection to the server and I time out on 1/2 of my tables and on all of them I have to re-check post blinds like 4 times before it starts working again. Reeaaaallly starting to piss me off and I'm thinking about changing sites JUST because of this fuckin software :/ BTW if anyone has advice on how this might be fixed lemme know.. no I've never experienced anything like these problems at stars/ftp..
I'm wondering what people think about ftp rakeback vs stars VIP at my play level. I think its pretty solid that supernova > FTP, but if I'm going to platinum for atleast 6-8months out of the year.. wtf should I do? :D
I'm also curious if anyone has an opinion on softness of nl50-nl200 on cake vs stars or FTP
Thanks guys.

pretty sure most ppl have this problem with cake. i think it happens a lot more when u have many programs running the in background. i used to grind while listening to pandora radio in firefox and crashed a ton; i stopped using pandora and things seem to have gotten a bit better but definitely no where near acceptable |

Article I had remembered seeing on stars' VIP program. I might as well go there, I think.
Anyone play nl50, 100, or 200 on both sites and able to tell me if its like "ZOMG WAY HARD FULL OF EXPERTS"?
Or should I take my 5BI roll I have left on stars and find out for myself ;D
Yeah I really like the 33% rakeback and shit at cake, but if I can't even get myself to play because of it I think its -ev compared to stars/ftp wouldn't you say ?
Apparently at 6max platinum is 21%, supernova is 29.7% and SNE is 42.4%(sick! totally out of the question for my stakes tho). These numbers for SN/SNE don't include the milestone bonuses though.. the way I'm figuring it is that the milestone bonuses will help bridge the gap between platinum's crappy rakeback and supernova's acceptable rakeback.. Though if I did hit any of these milestones it'd only be the 1st one I'm sure. Stakes are just too damn low :o |

I've always felt that it was more important to be on a good site with good software and lots of tables to choose from where I feel comfortable and can just focus on playing than anything else. That's why I've stuck on stars ever since I first got on. Originally I started on party with the free $75, then moved to stars. I had a short move to FTP to try and get that $600 bonus but that was a failure so I moved everything back to stars and have stayed there ever since.
Being able to just focus on playing your A game and improving your play is what's most important, especially at lower stakes. If you spend all your time going after bonuses and trying to find the softest site, you'll also spend a lot of time dealing with xfers, learning new software, and dealing with shitty sites. That takes away from your ability to learn how to play better poker.
Obv when you get to 3/6 and higher it makes sense to start having money on multiple sites for better game selection. But that's the only reason I ever forsee myself having money anywhere other than stars. |

thanks for the thoughts k2o4 I basically agree with you. My focus is definitely on improvement and A game. Only thing is stars sucks balls for rakeback at nl10-nl25 and its such a huge part of your winnings at this level. I think now that I am at nl50 (and I don't see any reason why I couldn't handle the games at stars), stars makes a LOT more sense than before.
my bw AKA was night2o1 I mostly played in 1999-2002 in op ~nohunters. I was never notably good, just love the game and playing FFAs lol |

Meh, cake network is great for bonus whoring all the clients that are associated with it. Cake, redstars, playersonly, cardspike. thats 2k bonus which is easy enough to clear mass pokering nl50 or more. That's my current plan anyway XD |

NL50 and NL100 rakeback is still important. Less so above that imo. I would go to FTP and play there with the rakeback. |

Gah u fuck that is kind of tempting/might be a good idea lol
Can I do this from the US though? I guess I will take a look
have no way to deposit tho o_O?
Looking at it I would have to set up one of those use my wallet things.. tho I'm not sure if they accept new US customers.
It looks like all of the sites on cakepoker network take US players..
Fuck ~56% rakeback is really tempting lol

right, but I think at nl50 my rakeback equivalent at stars will be good enough since I'll be platinum in the 1st month which is ~21% rb and SN by year-end for sure >< |

I will sit to your left if you go to FTP. We don't need any more regs.
Seriously though, if you're going to get SN for sure I'd do stars, but if you have doubts you can come join the fun over at FTP. |

cake is much softer than ftp or stars... there is no comparison.. if u like money deal with the software issues
now if u wanna learn how to play good and what not, thats a different story
personally i like to mix it up between sites, and get on stars when i wanna do more improving than making money per se.. and also keep up with the way it plays there.. each site has its own style really |

dicking around with this calculator, and having no idea how long I'm going to be stuck at nl50 is disheartening... and getting $ every month from FTP sounds nice.
agh fuck hard decision imo |

Ok so fuck it I'm going to bonus whore the cake network for 2-4 weeks, should collect an easy extra $1k which is pretty significant atm since I need a roll for vegas !
after I finish 2 of these cake network skins I will have to revisit my decision~ |

well then just try FTP. You can be away from Pokerstars for a month and come back and maintain platinum for the rest of the year ez to make supernova if it doesn't work out for you. |

yah I think I'm gonna do this except just bonus whore cake network for 56% rakeback instead of dick around on FTP again
btw if anyone needed to figure out how to get the usemywallet thing to work, you just e-mail one of the poker sites that has the logo and ask them set you up with the ability to make an usemywallet account. |

true that, FTP is totally riggedzzzzzzzzzz
but seriously I almost have a subconcious psychological aversion to FTP at this point so it'd be a big step play there again ;D |
