back to education...Education is based on the environment that the person is brought up in. Obviously, someone who has grown up in a tribe in Africa is not going to know anything about calculus. Hunting, farming, etc, are all things dominately taught to southern people because of it's usefulness and neccesity in our culture. We still like being independent instead of depending on people to help us. It is brought on generation after generation that you are suppose to go out and make something of yourself and be independent as quickly as possible. Northerners however, are taught at a young age that they will strive for a maximum education to go to college, get a job in an office type setting, and that type of life.

In conclusion, what you learn and how you are educated is based on what you need to learn in order to survive in your surrounding.

I think there's more merit to this than most online poker forum posters want to admit. But since some styles predictably lose money, it implies that a losing style is not necessarily a mistake. He also may be looking to induce tilt in an unimaginative but emotional player who cannot control his reaction to losing to a ridiculous hand at showdown. If he always calls reraises OOP with s00ted garbage, yes, that's a mistake, but this is one hand, not necessarily a trend.

/FACEPALM ...you were IN position, and besides, if you're reraising with this hand and checking the two out of three flops you airball, you're not playing well. You're bloating the pot and then giving up most of the time. This is terrible poker. A reraise increases your chance of winning the pot with a bet on the flop even if you miss, that's one of the reasons to reraise.

River call is fine. Your focus is on the least interesting parts of the hand. The biggest playing mistake is checking the flop. Not raising the turn is a much more subtle *possible* mistake. I don't think calling the river is a mistake at all, since your hand is so under-represented. I would at least consider raising the river for value.

You got yourself into a mess and then did what most mediocre or weak players do, focus on the wrong part of the hand. Good players have fewer tough decisions because they play their hands in ways that make their later decisions easier.

Your biggest overall mistake occurred with your ridiculous behavior after the hand, and it's been explained why several times in this thread.
