- In order for the event to be broadcast live during Prime time hours on the east coast of North America, the main card is expected to begin at 3:00 am (October 9) local time in Manchester (GMT), with a full preliminary card beginning at approximately 11:00 pm (October 8) local time. Despite the very late starting time, ticket demand was exceptionally high, as all tickets for the venue sold out in a matter of minutes.
- The event is expected to be headlined by a UFC Middleweight Championship fight between current champion Michael Bisping and the former Pride Welterweight, Pride Middleweight and former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Dan Henderson. The pairing met previously in July 2009 at UFC 100 with Henderson taking the victory via second round highlight reel knockout.
- A bantamweight bout between Brad Pickett and Iuri Alcantara was previously linked to UFC Fight Night: Arlovski vs. Barnett. However, it is now expected to be contested at this event.
- Ruslan Magomedov was expected to face Stefan Struve at this event, but pulled out on September 9 due to a staph infection. Struve will now face Daniel Omielanczuk.
- Arnold Allen was scheduled to face Mirsad Bektic at the event. However, Allen pulled out of the fight on 29 September for undisclosed reasons. He was replaced by Jeremy Kennedy.
- Lukasz Sajewski replaced Reza Madadi on 6 days notice and will fight the UFC newcomer, Marc Diakiese.
- Arnold Allen was scheduled to face Mirsad Bektic at the event. However, Allen pulled out of the fight on 29 September for undisclosed reasons. Jeremy Kennedy was briefly linked as the replacement. Subsequently, just hours after his participation was publicly confirmed, Kennedy indicated he was injured and unable to fight. Bektic will now face Russell Doane.

Bisping was such an idiot on his last fight vs Hendo it wouldnt surprise me if he gets caught by that right hook again... its the same thing that with Nelson if they KO you with just a clean right its because you fought like an idiot.

I forgot that Jeremy Kennedy pulled out of his fight last week.
Russell Doane will replace Kennedy on 3.5 days notice and fight Mirsad Bektic.
Doane lives and trains in Hawaii and will be on his way to England asap.
It's also worth mentioning that Doane is on a three-fight losing streak and has nothing to lose by taking this fight, and everything to gain.

Hendo is just so bad though. He could have easily be 1-8 in his last 9.
Will be interesting to see how this whole MW thing plays out. Cheering for Hendo for obvious reasons, but I also think it'd be the best for the division if he won and retired and Weidman/Romero winner could fight Luke/Jacare winner. Who knows if Hendo would even retire anyways though.

yeah I mean, Bisping has to be the favourite I just cant root for him, he is the most unskilled UFC champ in a long time, in his defense he seems to fight smarter, at his beggining he looked like a smart technical grinder but he made so many mistakes, now he seems he matured.
I dont think Hendo retires as the Champ, theres too much money to be made for him.

Calling Bisping the most unskilled champ in a long time is unfair, and it's also wrong.
Skills for skills, Bisping is better than Eddie Alvarez.
Eddie is a mediocre wrestler who gets overrated in this area. His pot-shot boxing doesn't work anymore at the highest level, which is why he hasn't used it in the UFC after Cerrone fucked him up in his debut. He doesn't really have any BJJ skills aside from the same chokes everyone can do like an RnC and guillotine. His cardio is usually good, but it has looked bad in certain fights. He doesn't use kicks much, and he's known for getting rocked and recovering.
Bisping has better movement, he's faster, better overall technical striking, better MMA wrestling (offensive/defensive, imo), better cardio, way higher striking output, and we don't really know how good his BJJ is cuz of his good TDD. Over his last few fights, Bisping has started faster, which used to be his biggest issue. He also has better movement and striking defense, which is why his rematch against Hendo looks worse for Hendo this time around cuz he has less outs.

I mean I dunno how you could say that when Bisping has basically 1 good win which everyone considers a fluke while Eddie has beaten RDA, Pettis, Gil, Chandler, Kawajiri in his prime..
I think they're probably close skills wise, but Eddie is a lot better at putting it all together and winning.

No way Hendo retires if he wins, he will defend his belt until he loses it (his first defense is the most probably scenario) and then he will retire imo. He can make millions defending his title.
