check out herrig
this makes me wanna bet on the other girl.
Standard for Herrig when she's cutting weight.
I'm still undecided on who I think will win, since I have a good grasp on both of their styles of fighting, and all their flaws (they have a lot).

^ REAL weigh-in
----------
FAKE weigh-in
Holly Holm (135) vs. Valentina Shevchenko (133)
Edson Barboza (155) vs. Gilbert Melendez (155)
Bojan Mihajlovic (228) vs. Francis Ngannou (259)
Kailin Curran (116) vs. Felice Herrig (115)
Frankie Saenz (135) vs. Eddie Wineland (135)
Darren Elkins (145) vs. Godofredo Pepey (145)
Kamaru Usman (170) vs. Alexander Yakovlev (170)
J.C. Cottrell (155) vs. Michel Prazeres (155)
James Moontasri (170) vs. Alex Oliveira (170)
Jim Alers (145) vs. Jason Knight (145)
Luis Henrique (253) vs. Dmitry Smolyakov (251)
----------
• Both Holm and Shevchenko looked great. Holm will obviously be the bigger girl in the cage tomorrow after she re-hydrates.
• I was surprised to see Barboza and Melendez around the same height. I expected Barboza to be a few inches taller. Gilbert's body looks decent; he never looks shredded.
• Ngannou is a beast, and probably doesn't cut weight. He has the massive height + weight + striking advantage, while Bojan looks gross as fuck.
• Herrig looked amazing on the scale during the fake weigh-in, much better than her anorexic pic that was posted earlier. Curran looked as good as usual.
• I was surprised Elkins and Pepey are about the same height, even though Pepey will be the heavier fighter in the cage.
• Cottrell doesn't have that much of a height advantage over Prazeres like I thought he'd have.
• Moontasri looks decent, but soft; no idea why he moved up to 170 for this fight. Oliveira looks legit and will have the size advantage in all areas in the cage.
• Henrique pushed Smoly for no reason. Possibly trying to get in his head.
The three fights presented in road to the Octagon are all pretty fun, but after those three I have no idea who these people are. I remember the days when FOX cards looked like PPV's. I really don't want anyone to lose in Holm vs. Shevchenko.

what do you guys think of holm -5.5 pts at +125 and holm UD at +150?
No way would I bet -5.5 for Holm. I'd rather bet +5.5 on Shevchenko.

Why was Svhevchenko at 133? That can't be good news.
Shevchenko used to be a 125`er, and is the shorter fighter.
Her being 133 isn't good or bad, it's just normal.

This is her third fight in the UFC at 135 pound if I am not mistaken. She could have gained some muscle by then knowing that this would be her division. Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of weight cutting but if she goes in there with a 5-10 pound disadvantage, its not a ''neutral'' news.

People said and thought the same thing about Frankie Edgar and many other small fighters in various weight divisions. Also, gaining extra muscle tends to slow some fighters down.
Since Holm isn't a grappler -- and is at a grappling disadvantage in this fight -- her size won't be the deciding factor if she were to win. Holm is an outside striker who isn't ashamed to point-fight her way to a win. She knows how good of a striker Shevchenko is, especially in the clinch, so she will want to employ the same game plan that made her famous in boxing, just like she has done in her UFC fights.
The Frankie and grappling non-issue were pretty much the arguments I expected and are indeed valid. I just though that she would take advantage of the extra weight she could gain. Some extra muscle could help her to impose a clinching game more easily. I did not expect her to train at 150 and cut to 135. Do you think she will weight 133 for the fight? and what would be the potential weight of Holm considering she does a weight cut to reach 135?

Shevchenko won't weigh more than 140 on fight-night. I'd guess around 136, since she didn't drain herself to make the weight and will eat a normal dinner and make sure she'd hydrated before the fight starts.
No idea what Holm will weigh. Each fighter is different with how much weight they put on, cuz it's not healthy to put on too much weight in 24 hours, and could make you feel like shit and/or slow you down in a fight, especially a 5-round fight.
If I had to guess, I would say Holm will weigh 145 on fight-night, mostly cuz she's taller and has a naturally larger frame for the division, and cuts a decent amount to make the weight.

Damn I didn't even realize this was a legit Fox card, these cards have fallen off so much. Maybe since the UFC is selling they don't care anymore about their deal with Fox? Because this is pretty terrible compared to the cards they used to have not that long ago.
