Do you guys think Mighty Mouse would get more popular, better payed and more famous if he moved up a weight class? Like he could take on Faber after Faber loses to Cruz, then take on that weird Brazillian guy, then take on Cruz again. I think people might love that! And if he wins vs Cruz, he can move up another weight class, then it will really look like Mighty Mouse, being all small and tiny, fighting vs a giant (even if it's just featherweight)

Jon not really impressive in his return.

Gustafsson fucks him up, imo.

Sigh...

I felt really confident about this card, but I should've known... I literally never do well on any UFC PPV card when it comes to DraftKings.

I invested $67, won $33.50, so my total loss for the day is -$33.50, not counting the time I wasted watching the fights when I should've been doing homework for several classes.

p.s. the next UFC card is already up on DraftKings, but it offers a low payout, and imo, it's a tough card to make a solid team. ATM, I'm not excited about it in terms of fantasy betting, but there's several good fights on the card that I'm interested in watching.

----------

p.s.s. The next card is in 2 weeks (Sunday, May 8), so this should give you plenty of time to study fights. Here's the card:

Alistair Overeem vs. Andrei Arlovski
Antonio Silva vs. Stefan Struve
Gunnar Nelson vs. Albert Tumenov
Nikita Krylov vs. Francimar Barroso
Karolina Kowalkiewicz vs. Heather Jo Clark
Rustam Khabilov vs. Chris Wade
Patrick Holohan vs. Willie Gates
Germaine de Randamie vs. Anna Elmose
Magnus Cedenblad vs. Garreth McLellan
Nick Hein vs. Jon Tuck
Yan Cabral vs. Reza Madadi
Kyoji Horiguchi vs. Neil Seery
Leon Edwards vs. Dominic Waters

Missed the main card, saw Yair's KO though. Never seen a switch kick KO don't think. Kid's the new Pettis since Pettis is apparently the old Pettis.

If Sergio had a better chin he'd actually be an interesting matchup for MM. I also really like Scoggins. Still a lot of FW contenders coming up, division is actually getting deep.

DJ looks incredible. They should just disband his division and put him in the Hall Of Fame as a god of it. That guy wont lose for many years to come. What he did to an olympic wrestler is mind blowing. It looked like he was dealing with a kid.

Jones looked like he was walking in the park or something until OSP hit him a few times 2nd round and actually decided to start fighting. If he fights at this level the fight vs DC will actually be interesting. I've never seen him so stiff

thought jones looked fine. fight was very similar to rampage fight where he mesmerized opponent into doing nothing by throwing endless kicks and refused to throw any punches because that would allow a (somewhat) dangerous opponent with power into striking range, basically coasted to an easy 50-45 win. a fight with DC goes very different since DC would bully his way into jon's chest repeatedly and force the action, so cannot read into anything about that fight from this performance. but Gus countered this gameplan well and jon would have to choose to fight very differently against specifically him.

I suppose I'm most interested to see him fight Anthony Johnson due to them not yet fighting, but I think Jones matches up very well with him. Jones fights safe, has a great chin, better cardio, and seems to give the wrestle boxers no chance of victory. I do really want to see Gus/DC rematches though. All 3 fights need to happen, don't have any interest in him moving up to fight Werdum atm

Jon Jones will beat DC again, imo. Hope that fight makes the odds somehow closer for their fight. The line before DC injury was unplayable.

Very interested to see him vs Rumble, as well. The toughest match up for him, imo is still Gustafsson, who I pick to beat him up most of the time.

I feel theres a couple things that made Jon look bad. One was his inability to take OSP down early. OSP isn't known to have very good TDD, Bader took him down 9 times and Glover 5. So him being able to avoid Jones takedowns really surprised people.

Another was his defense and output. Fightmetric says the first two rounds were basically dead even ( off by one strike both rounds ) and OSP was able to land some very good punches. I felt Jon looked kinda slow and unsure of himself early in the fight.

Theres also the fact OSP broke his arm in the 4th I believe and Jones couldn't finish him.

I don't think Jones looked terrible, but I do think if he fought DC/Rumble/Gus tonight theres a good chance he would of lost. Seemed like his timing was off and he was unsure of himself. Think he comes out beast mode next fight though.

Rumble gonna blast Jones if they ever fight

soberstone   United States. Apr 29 2016 02:02. Posts 2662

Just watched the Jones fight. Just looked tentative and conservative to me. It was boring but I don't really think it should affect the odds on future fights. He's always had terrible, stiff boxing, get by on his athletic advantages, and only takes the finish when it presents itself except his murder of Shogun. Rumble has the best shot, agree with Trax, although I would favor Jones.

What are the 4 axis in fighting? 2 are definitely Speed and Power, what are the other 2? to make an X/Y chart.

Mental Toughness, Precision, Wrestling/Grapping, Conditioning, Tricky/Timing all come to mind..
