I searched around a bit but it's hard to know. Does anyone know who are the big shots at nl500z+ in 2015? It would be really interesting to know the possible winrates and how big is the difference among the top winners and the mid/good regs.

You can see some info on PTR, but its definately far from perfect - they miss a lot of hands and they fail to track some players completely.

Or you can find someone with access to the unoficial "russian PTR", which should have better data.

Or you can buy millions of hands from somewhere and load it into your database, then see for yourself.

you gotta decide what stake you wanna know...500 is pretty different from 1k and 2k is even more
OTB_redbaron is obviously the biggest winner at NLH 6max this year, winrate around 6~7bb/100

Dont listen to anything I say

actually there's this dude winning more than him, but probably because the russian PTR doesnt track above 5k correct

Thanks boys, I've been seeing these names on videos a lot but it's hard to figure out who's good. For instance Sauce said in his recent NL5k live play 3 part videos that ICEMAN is unknown and probably bad, but he seems to be the top winner. A friend of mine also said Cipple444 is winning tons at 500z this year but it's also hard to figure out whether it's godrun or not.

Is that BB or ptbb?

I am not nearly as good at stats as I used to be but if he is winning at 10 for 143k hands I would imagine it is pretty tough for him to be "bad." Maybe "bad" headsup vs. sauce or some others but not "bad" over those 143k hands overall. He might be doing some unorthodox stuff for whatever reason. In fact, I would imagine he is. Usually the biggest winners are.

I don't think this is a very good list of results to draw any conclusions from, here's why:

1) samples are pretty small, no one has 200k hands here and only half of them even have 100k hands. like a 4bb/100 winner can easily run at 8bb/100 for 100k hands and in extreme cases (like the cases that will showup on a top 10 winners list) a 0bb/100 winner could be have a 8bb/100 sample over a sizeable amount of hands

2) most of the hands played in each of these samples are in games with very high variability in lineups, stakes, and iirc russian PTR also tracks HU played on 6max tables and includes it in it's 6max samples

I think you're much better off at looking at winrates for "regular" games, by that I mean games that run regularly with fairly consistent properties. This will give us larger samples in more consistent games and eliminate both problems above.

samples from games like 400-600 NL, 200zoom, 500zoom, and maybe specifically 1k NL

Thanks Smuft, perhaps 500 zoom is good enough.

Right now the top winners at NL500 zoom of the last few months are are cipple444 (by a huge margin), d3fault, Flufferd and Malefactor47. I am not sure if these are actually the top players and if anybody plays there it would be cool to have more opinions on these players.

those are strong regs, not as Strong as RedBaron, Invoker Katya, Fish or Flushie though

or another question that might actually get answered is, can i open and observe stars tables from the states with anything other than a VPN? Can you observe stars tables without logging in?

You dont even need a VPN. Just download the software and launch. I dont even think you need to login.
