He released a chapter from the 6th book a few days ago
Also its somewhat confirmed that he wont be able to finish the 7th book by the end of the show, but they will still go on and I kind of lost respect for that fatass. He released 2 novels and 4 other random collection, picture books inbetween the 5th and the 6th book instead of working on his life's work ...
if poker is dangerous to them i would rank sports betting as a Kodiak grizzly bear who smells blood after you just threw a javelin into his cub - RaiNKhAN

100% chance of him dieing with a belly full of wine and balls empty.

no fuck that, hes averaging 5years/book, thats outrageous, and i think he even said that if he dies no one has the permission to finish the books
HBO will pretty soon catch up to the books (i think this season), and wonder what will happen next
He is idd outrageously slow but that's his freedom and the end result is a masterpiece.
Baal If Martin is "pretty good" at writing fantasy, name someone who is good? Most of the fantasy I've read was honestly pretty badly written, and comparing any of it to ASOIAF just seems bonkers to me. You guys are stingy with praise.

actually, the sansa part is already caught up with the books (or so i'm told, i havent read past book 2)
The sample chapter spitfire talked about was Sansa POV so there is some new material now. I think it's possible the show will slow down the tempo since they are so popular now and close to running out of material. I think they should have had an even slower tempo from the start and cut/changed even less characters. When I watched the tv show before reading the books I was completely lost because there are so many characters and they get introduced way too fast. I remember having trouble identifying even a major character like Theon after the first couple of episodes,

In an interview awhile back he said he told one of his friends whom is also a writer the rest of the story just in case, as well as the two producers of the show.
We have now sunk to a depth at which restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men.
Poll: Will you watch the 4 leaked episodes?
