- A UFC Middleweight Championship bout between Chris Weidman and Vitor Belfort was expected to serve as the event headliner. The much delayed pairing was previously scheduled to take place at UFC 173 and also at UFC 181. However, on January 30, the UFC announced that Weidman had pulled out of the bout, citing an injury he sustained in training. Subsequently, a UFC Women's Bantamweight Championship bout between current champion Ronda Rousey and top contender Cat Zingano was promoted to the main event. Belfort was offered an interim title fight first against Lyoto Machida and then Gegard Mousasi as a replacement for Weidman, but he declined and stated that he would only fight for the full title.
- Neil Magny was briefly linked to a bout with Josh Koscheck at the event. However, Magny was pulled from the fight in favor of a bout with Kiichi Kunimoto at UFC Fight Night 60. Koscheck is now expected to face Jake Ellenberger.
- A bout between touted newcomer Holly Holm and Raquel Pennington, originally booked for UFC 181 and ultimately scrapped due to Holm being injured, will serve as the co-headliner.
- Mark Munoz was very briefly scheduled to a bout with Caio Magalhaes at the event. However, shortly after the bout was announced by the UFC, Magalhaes indicated that he would not be able to compete at the event due to a lingering infection after recent dental surgery, which would require additional surgery. Munoz is expected to stay on the card against returning UFC veteran Roan Carneiro.
- A heavyweight bout between Frank Mir and Antonio Silva, originally scheduled for the main card, was moved up a week and served as the event headliner for UFC Fight Night 61.
- Ronaldo Souza was expected to face Yoel Romero at this event. However on January 15, Souza was forced to withdraw from the bout with pneumonia. The pairing was left intact and the fight rescheduled for UFC on Fox 15.
- Yancy Medeiros was slated to face Tony Ferguson at this event, but an injured foot forced him out of the bout. On the same day, Gleison Tibau was announced as his replacement.

First impression of the match-ups:
- Rousey > Zingano (I'll have bets on Zingano and possibly o1.5 rounds; I haven't decided on the latter just yet.)
- Holm > Pennington
- Koscheck > Ellenberger (I hope Koscheck uses his wrestling here and shuts Ellenberger's game down in the first round, because Ellenberger doesn't know what to do if he can't hurt you early. Both are fighting for their job. I have a bet on Koscheck +170 already.)
- Jouban > Walsh
- Ferguson > Tibau
- Munoz vs. Carneiro (dunno yet, but leaning Carneiro at +160 or better.)
- Yamamoto > Salazar
- Means > Lima (If Lima can't get a take down, Means should win on the feet. However, Means has been inactive in his last 2 fights, even though he won both of them. Lima isn't good unless he can get your back.)
- Lewis > Potts
- Lazaro > Krause (I love Krause, but unless he can get a submission off his back, I think Lazaro is gonna do to Krause what he did to Vick, and that's keep the pressure and get take downs. I felt Lazaro was robbed against Vick, even though I bet on Vick.)
- Fullen vs. Torres (dunno)

Why the fuck Holm even trains striking? Ive never understood this it happens every time.
Nobody can remotely stand a chance on their feet against her, why not just train wrestling and BJJ 24/7? Thats the only way she would ever lose a fight, she is the best striker by far in MMA why the fuck is she hitting the mitts?

I'd rather take Pentington than Zingano at the current odds. Ronda is about as much of a lock as it gets.
Rousey > Cat (No reasonable path to victory for Cat, but a bit excited to see how long she lasts and if she can make it semi-competitive)
Holm > Pennington
Ellenberger > Koschek - Hate to say it but I'm betting the other way on this one. I think this is the perfect matchup for Jake to win a fight and as shitty as his losses have been, I have no reason he can't beat a huge step down in competition in an old, inactive Koschek
Jouban > Walsh - Need to watch a Walsh fight but from what I can remember, the odds are a bit wide on this one. Walsh got completely robbed in his last fight. Jouban is fun and he got robbed vs Warley Alves.
Ferguson > Tibau - I want to bet on this but I'm a little afraid that Ferguson will get pinned in lame positions for prolonged periods. Still, I think I'm gonna parlay him with Koschek pretty soon here. The fact that both him and Tibeu have been very active favors him.
Munoz > Carneiro - I think the UFC is lobbing that whole team softballs on this card. I do want to see Carneiro's last fights, I guess he just won a 1-night tournament in a different organization and Munoz can look awful but he should overpower whoever this kid is.
Yamamoto vs Salazar - Want to watch Salazar fights but Yamamoto is an inactive legend on a 3-fight losing streak and is at -350.... If the 27 year old Salazar looks decent I'll bet him as a flyer
Means > Lima - Like the Dirty Bird at even odds. Just hope he throws volume and overwhelms in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
Lewis > Potts - Lewis by KO should be a minus odds big time or I'm gonna throw a bit on that. Potts is going out.
Lazaro v Krause - Dunno, like James Krause as a fighter.
Fullen v Torres - Who the fuck knows or cares

That Zingano is one tough, tough girl. I wouldn't count her out that quickly since she knows how to win. In men's MMA that's not enough but certainly for women's MMA I think that's a huge factor since Ronda has been bullying everyone she fights. I feel Cat will pull this off.
I agree about Holm if she trains specially her takedown defence she could dominate the division, rousey striking is not good.

Well Im not sure you are refering to that video but if you do it does not mean anything, that is a promo done to hype the fight and they want to show her striking to get people excited. Im sure she has spent most of her camp working TDD and sub defense

We can only hope Holly Holm stuffs a couple TD's easily and cleanly and than brutally KO's Pennington, or just puts down some 10-8 type stuff. If it's even a marginally tough fight for her than they won't be able to sell her as a viable threat to Rousey, nor should they be. If she does look impressive though, that's a fight I could get excited about, simply because she would have a real path to victory, unlike everyone outside of McMann - who turns out to have some of the skills (probably the hardest hitter in the division - no other women could break an orbital bone with a standing punch like she did to Miesha, and obviously the best pure wrestler) but none of the heart it would take to dethrone Ronda.

There's Bellator and Invicta on Friday, then UFC on Saturday. Bookmaker and 5dimes carries the lines for all 3 of these events. There's also some Legacy FC event on 5dimes, but I'm not gonna watch it.
My bets thus far:
Josh Koscheck +170 $10 for $17
Tim Means -110 $33 for $30

There's no need to.
- The president and founder of Invicta, Shannon Knapp, is a former main-office UFC employee.
- UFC already took 90% of the 135 fighters and made a division for Ronda Rousey in the UFC. UFC also took 90% or more of the 115 fighters, and made them compete on their own season of The Ultimate Fighter to crown a UFC champion, which the original champion from Invicta won in the end.
- Invicta made a deal with UFC in late 2014 that allowed all of the Invicta events to be streamed on UFC Fight Pass, so Invicta doesn't have to worry about charging people for each event and dealing with shitty streams.
- All of the old Invicta fights can be viewed through UFC Fight Pass, just like the UFC/Pride/Strikeforce/etc. fights can. Also, all of the Invicta weigh-ins are streamed on UFC Fight Pass.
- Invicta still puts on 115 pound fights and 135 pound fights, along with the 105/125/145/155 pound fights. It's basically a farming system at this point for the UFC. Once a fighter proves themselves in Invicta, they can go to the UFC to fight at 115/135 pounds. If you lose too many fights in the UFC, Invicta will probably take you back because they need the bodies to fill up their cards. For example, Roxanne Modafferi was on a season of TUF, then she got one fight in the UFC and lost to Raquel Pennington, then Invicta hired her and she is currently on a 2-fight win streak. She'll get another chance in the UFC at some point, especially since she's actually improving after all these years.
As a side note, if you have a UFC ticket to this Saturday's event, you get 20% off of any Invicta ticket you buy, you just have to show the ticket. (Both events are in Los Angeles, so it's kinda cool for MMA fans in that area.)

I decided to take a shot at this card.
Parlay of four- Rousey-Cat under1.5 ,Kos-Jake over 1.5 ,Tony Ferguson to win and Lewis to win.
And also i have a single bet on Ronda-Cat under 1,5 rounds.I think it is the best bet for the whole card.Odds- 1,61

After I thought about it for a bit, and after doing some research to go with my feeling, I currently have Tibau +185 $15 for $27.75, and Tibau +205 $30 for $61.50, which totals Tibau $45 for $89.25.
I'm going to treat this fight like I did with RDA vs. Henderson, and Reneau vs. Andrade, which means I'm going big on the underdog whom I think has ways to win, and then live betting after/during round 1.
Explanation: I think this fight will be close in round 1, probably Tibau even winning round 1 do to him usually getting a take down within the first 5 minutes. After round 1, the odds will be near even, and I can hedge my bet or just go with my gut feeling from there. Also, Tibau has never been finished in the first round in his 43-fight career.
Ferguson lost the first round in his last two fights, which were both a step up in competition when compared to the people he was fighting before that. He got dropped versus Abel Trujillo and then subbed Trujillo in round 2 after Trujillo gassed. He spent 8+ minutes on the ground after Castillo took him down, but Castillo lost a split-decision because he only tried to wrestle-fuck Ferguson for the win (both had the same number of significant strikes at the end of the fight, and Castillo's 8+ minutes of top control didn't matter)

Walsh posted this in the betting thread at Sherdog:
"For this camp, I trained around 2 weeks at Team Alpha Male as well as spent time at Dominance MMA where I trained with Jake Matthews and Dan Kelly.
In terms of BJJ, I worked extensively with my head coach on countering the rubber guard and with some of Australia's best talent with mostly black/brown belts as my training partners. I know wrestling isn't Australia's strong point but I also worked on that with Gary Jones who once wrestled with Edgar as well as of course the crew at Team Alpha Male.
For me, personally, I like to think of my strong points and what I'm going to do rather than my opponent's strengths and his gameplay. When you start to overthink about your opponent, you fall into playing his game."

Ronda Rousey (135) vs. Cat Zingano (134.5) – for women’s bantamweight title
Holly Holm (135.5) vs. Raquel Pennington (135.5)
Jake Ellenberger (171) vs. Josh Koscheck (170.5)
Alan Jouban (170.5) vs. Richard Walsh (171)
Tony Ferguson (156) vs. Gleison Tibau (155)
Roan Carneiro (184.5) vs. Mark Munoz (187.25)*
Roman Salazar (135) vs. Norifumi Yamamoto (136)
Dhiego Lima (170) vs. Tim Means (170)
Derrick Lewis (262) vs. Ruan Potts (253)
James Krause (155) vs. Valmir Lazaro (155.5)
Masio Fullen (145) vs. Alexander Torres (145.5)
* Munoz has two hours to cut to the middleweight max of 186 pounds.
IMO, Munoz looked bad, especially since he missed weight. Ellenberger had to strip to make weight, and he didn't look that great imo. The person who looked the best on the scale was Richard Walsh.

4 free Invicta prelim fights that start in 1 hour from now (7pm PST/10pm EST). The main card will be at 9pm PST/12am EST. There's only one prelim fight that I'm interested in, which is the Jamie Moyle fight.
I only have 3 big bets right now, as I plan to live bet everything else. Some of my single bets contrast with my parlays because I made my parlays right when the lines were released, and I didn't put much thought into the actual match-ups. Kid Yamamoto's line is sitting around -150 right now, which is a big drop from -330 or whatever it was. People are fading Yamamoto's losing streak + inactivity, but his opponent isn't good. If I can get Yamamoto at -145 or better, I'll place a bet on him and then live bet the rest.
- As mentioned before, I'm betting Tibau big pre-fight, and will live-bet Ferguson after round 1, or when/if I feel it's needed.
- I originally picked Lazaro to win, but I forgot that I had made parlays with Krause, so I only have $5 on Lazaro's decision line as a hedge to the Krause parlays. This fight is on Fight Pass, so I can't live bet it, which is why I only made the $5 bet as a hedge.
- As for the Koscheck fight, I still think he's the better overall fighter here, and he didn't look bad on the scale yesterday like Ellenberger did. I'd still bet Koscheck at +100, so +170 is a no-brainer for me.
Holm/Pennington u2.5 +140 $5 for $7
Josh Koscheck +170 $20 for $34
Koscheck/Ellenberger u1.5 +145 $5 for $7.25
Richard Walsh +355 $10 for $35.50
Gleison Tibau +185 $15 for $27.75
Gleison Tibau +205 $30 for $61.50
Roan Carneiro +245 $10 for $24.50
Roan Carneiro by submission +1075 $2 for $21.50
Munoz/Carneiro u2.5 -110 $11 for $10
Norifumi Yamamoto by submission +1525 $2 for $30.50
Yamamoto/Salazar u1.5 +145 $5 for $7.25
Tim Means -110 $33 for $30
Valmir Lazaro by decision +450 $5 for $22.50
Ronda Rousey by KO/TKO/DQ +394 $10 for $39.40
Norifumi Yamamoto -145 $14.50 for $10

Ronda and cat really have a card to save. All the good jew-jew from the Ferguson, Jouban, Ellenberger finishes got killed by that fight and the pacing has been way too slow for an LA show. Our fans are fickle and shitty.

Glad Ronda won fast, now I can still make dinner and watch a movie.
Hopefully the next UFC main card is a little more entertaining, and not 3 finishes in the first half of round 1, a fight with one guy who is afraid to fight after getting jabbed in the eye, and an over-hyped fight where a -900 favorite wins via split-decision in a boring fight.

Holm is drawing dead vs Ronda, pretty mediocre striking tbh and she always sprints forward while throwing combinations, penningtong catched her perfectly with full body lock but she was too small and probably lacked the wrestling to take her down but Ronda is going to catch her like that, put her on her back and win easily.
So sad I thought Holm was better

Yes i also thought Holly was better but she really is not. Also i won my straight bet and my 4 way parlay at the ened i felt bad for Cat.She was so ashamed and didn't know what to say.I knew it is going to be an armbar in the first 2 minutes ,but 14 seconds is OMG.And the card sucked. The first fight was good. The mexicans always deliver so it was expected. Also Ferguson looked good and i wish the fight was a little bit longer but anyway.I hope they do not make cards like this in the near future for the PPV's.

Something else for everybody who bets on the UFC.
The line now on Carla Esparza is crazy 1.666 and she can not lose her fight. There is just no way.And i think everybody who bets big bugs on fighting has to go all in on this line because it will drop dramaticaly.

well she deserves it, why in the fuck would anyone bullrush a judo specialist, that is exactly what you dont do against a martial art that is based on using your own inertia against you.

Ronda is awesome, she has so many positives. Her attitude is something special.
I think Holm is on some juice... that physique can't be normal. Dem legs are huge and her bf% is super low.

Feel completely the opposite. JJ throws like 115 pound Junior Dos Santos, worlds above Esparza on the feet. Ofcourse Carla is gonna shoot like crazy for TD's and has solid top control but I was insanely impressed with JJ's TDD and cardio vs Claudia Gadelha who could be the best in world right now (that split decision was razor thin). I think Gadelha would beat Esparza but that's more of a stylistic thing.
Thug Rose has nowhere near the TDD or cardio of JJ, and her exotic submissions were not gonna work against the heavy top game of Carla. I was dead wrong on my pick on that fight but took a lot out of it as far is it being more about Rose's shortcomings that Carla's dominance.
Bottom line is you may think there is value on Esparza, and that's fine, but to say there is no way she loses that fight is ridiculous, there is a clear path to victory for both fighters. My humble opinion is that you are giving shitty advice. The line opened at -185 and is now at -155. There's no way it ever goes above -200 so don't rush your money on Esparza, and it will probably creep to more like -130 before Weigh-Ins once people watch JJ's fights with Gadelha and Juliana Lima.

Could we stop with the steroid speculations? I mean I get accusations against people looking like Ubereem or Christine Cyborg.. but come on...
Im not saying she is not on the juice, Im just saying that its retarded to start throwing that accusation so lightly, like Joe Rogan stupidly did on Fedor... and he is right in saying its likely he was on roids, but saying that without the slightest proof with millions of listeners was very irresponsible

I think the only place this fight is going to take place is on the ground. When i am looking at the women's divisions it is like the early UFC.The wrestlers dominate and also the girls who knows submisions. That's why i think it is not going to be competetive.I guesss time will tell.I already bet this line because i like it alot.I just shared that for me there is great value there. Also i gave an advice for a single bet on this event for Ronda-Cat under 1.5 and 4 way parlay.I won on both of them.

Cyborg has a good chance. Cyborg is dangerous I took a look at her, she can knock some women out. Could probably knock a lot of men out. She might knock a Ronda out. Nobody else has any chance at all. I would bet Cyborg with decent odds though. I don't think it would be crazy to bet Cyborg at even odds. But she will never be the star Ronda Rousey is, in fact I feel sorry for her.

That was a given, but Holm looked like a promising challenger but I think we all know now that she has no chance, her striking isnt as good as you would expect from a box champion and her style of walking-in combos should work horrible against Ronda

I sued to believe cyborg would murder Rousey but now I dont, I think Rousey will defeat her especially at 135lbs where Cyborg wont have such a big power advantage.
The other day I saw Rousey shadowboxing for some media crap and her technique was perfect, the rotation of the hips all while maintining perfect balance, way better than Cyborgs chute boxe predictable hooks, obviously Cyborg is still more dangerous on their feet but only because of the power, I think its likely that Ronda could win a 12 round boxing match vs Cyborg.

She's actually ranked as the greatest female boxer of all time. It's really shocking how not great her striking looked.

Like not good at all.I have not seen female boxing ,but it must be bad.Holy's striking against a woman who is 5-6 and lets be honest has no idea of striking was not impressive at all.If she is the greatest female boxer of all time OMG.
And she did not show that she had the one punch power.I think Holy's run in the UFC will not be good at all.I will not be surprised of something like 3-3 and she's gone.

No, they are not on the same level standing up. Ronda may have punches that look and are technically sound, but Cyborg knows how to apply them correctly in various situations. She simply can't stand with Cyborg.

Cyborg isnt a good boxer either, she got her ass kicked in a Kickboxing match by a tiny girl

Uh, Jorina Baars is 5'11'' 148 pounds, 37-0-3 in kickboxing, and would kill any woman MMA fighter standing. Cyborg actually did a great job against her all things considered.
Cyborg isn't some elite technician, but she would wreck basically any girl standing in MMA.

... bizarre I actually watched the fight and I dont know why in my mind she was tiny but now I see its actually the opposite.
I agree that Cyborg would destroy any female standing in MMA Ive never stated or suggested otherwise.
What I said is given how good Rosey looked on her feet she might beat Cyborg on a 10 round boxing fight where her strenght isnt that big of an advantage and her poor technique would be more easily punished plus cardio would be a big factor, but I think Cyborg would easily win in a kickboxing fight without any trouble

Hey guys just a question.
Recently i started getting interested in MMA, and i would like to bet on it. If i'm a winner, cool, but if im not i don't care, its mostly to make watching matches more interesting and to feed my degen side. I currently have a good job in computers but i really don't spend much at all so i don't give a crap if i lose 50$/month on gambling.
I'm still trying to figure out how to deposit on 5dimes, and it seems like the only possible option for me would be visa, but honnestly i don't like the idea of sending copy of my ID and credit card to people oversea running illegal gambling sites.
I tryed Western Union but they declined my transfer for "security".
Buying bitcoins is really complicated.
I have a "local" online gambling site which is 100% safe, but the odds they offer are RIDICULOUSLY BAD. Like, i can't even hope of running good on that site. (just to give an idea, Sergio Pettis is -1428 and his opponement is +300. And all bets have bad odds like those).
So i'm just wondering if sending all those scanned copies really is safe.
The other option i'm seriously considering is just wait for Pstars to offer Sport bets, but this may take a while, and i don't know if they're gonna be as competitive as 5dimes. 5dimes is really really competive, especially with the reduced juice lines.
My last option is to try and find someone on LP i could do a PS/5Dimes transfer, which i already tryed with blog, but didn't get any offers.
james9994: make note dont play against floofy, ;(

This is not like depositing on PS or on Draftkings, its much more complicated.
I guess i could just send them the paperwork theyre asking maybe.
