My memory of the whole event is vague at this point, but I think we all thought it was a scam, and then we received proof that it was legit (it was in the papers) and then I think soah somehow used it to take advantage of Ket (who didn't believe him at first and felt sorry), but I'm not sure about this last part. I know soah just disappeared after he had something going on with Ket.

On Friday morning, Slovenian police found the body of a dead young man on the banks of the Ljubljanica River in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The conditions of the body did not allow an immediate identification and authorities decided to perform a DNA test to discover whether or not it could be German poker player Johannes Strassmann, who was reported missing from Ljubljana on June 21.

wonder how he died (results of autopsy will be interesting).

its hard to believe he got robbed and killed (but possible). maybe he was drunk or something and drowned? they found him near the river..

This whole situation seems so weird, there is no logical connection of the " im here, im hungry " part to anything else in this case, if he was captured, he wouldn't be screaming "im hungry", he d be screaming for help a. Whole thing gives me goosebumps, so terrifying. Hope its not him, however all facts point in that direction :/

Same with the friends he was with:
1. They let him go without asking where he was going (while in a foreign country and not the safest in the world)
2. Not asking him why he was leaving the group. Like to do what on his own??
3. Friends wanted to stay "anonymous". So maybe fearing someone/group of people over there?

Only speculations obviously, would like to know the outcome but very sad and shady story

well when you have millions and have access to quick cash and large sum transfers people will target you, especially in places where $1k a month lets you live really, really well

maybe they all had been drinking and his friends thought he was going to take a piss at an alley. I can also well understand that they did not want to have their names published. So in all I don't think these are superweird things to happen.

had a friend in college drown in the prague river. never ever get into a fast moving body of water. johannes was a fantastic athlete, but the current is so strong and fast and there are rocks which can knock you out everywhere.

Well, even if I thought it was a likely scenario, I will never understand how people drown, even under the influence of alcohol.

Has he decided to swim? Did he lose his balance and fell into the river? It boggles my mind everytime I read about drowning.
