Really nice fights. Jon Jones put on a clinic but Rockhold and Rumble stole the show imo. Nice to see a couple legit threats coming up.

I think some people get butthurt too easily is what is more well documented. He walks the line very well imo. The facts are that to be an athlete of his calibre you need to have enormous level of self-confidence which some will take as "being a dick." In his post-fight interview he was gracious in thanking the Brazilian fans for tuning in and saying that Glover was a great opponent. And then he went on to say that Glover was a one dimensional opponent and his camp knew what to expect. Some people will take that as arrogance. The rest of us will take that as reality. He was a one-dimensional opponent to anyone who watched that fight. The sky is blue also.

dont think it's arrogance to say Glover is one dimensional fighter, but running and dancing in the end of the fight is
you can see lots of champions with another attitude, Fedor, Velasquez, Aldo, Mighty Mouse etc

awesome card. yesterday i caught someone in the same exact triangle that rockhold got boetsch in. mid roll i ask my instructor how to finish it and he was like "you need to pull on the arm" and i couldnt get anywhere with it. my opponent actually tapped cause he was getting smothered by his own gi but the choke really wasnt close. nice to know the kimura is just right there

20 seconds of running/evading (early celebration really) in a 25 minute fight. There isn't really anywhere to run in a cage. I am pretty sure Glover knows how to run too. If Glover wanted to corner him he would have Seems like grasping for straws if you ask me.

That was a sick sub indeed. I don't think I have ever seen a kimura with a (reverse?) triangle before. It was so close up to the cage too, I didn't think there was room.

I didn't say people dislike him without a reason. I absolutely gave a reason. I said they dislike him because they mistake his self confidence for arrogance. And I definitely never said anything about the colour of his skin wtf lol. You already named some champs yourself that are black and are well liked by everyone. You can think he is a D-bag, lots do. Maybe (whatever makes you all hate him) is just him summoning a bit of the Chael Sonnen genius. Who could blame him?

Jones is weird in that he is respectful and humble at times but also show-boaty and cocky at others.

Honestly I don't blame him for having a big ego, he is obviously the best fighter currently. Not everyone can be a Fedor and be super humble and stoic when they dominate everyone.

Guess there was no problem with it, I was sure it was broken. If that's the case he was just being super disciplined not wanting to give Glover the opportunity to counter and close the distance on his own terms. I still wish he'd have thrown it in every now and then as it probably could have helped him get the finish (KO's don't come from punches that you see coming), but obviously the guy knows what he's doing so who can really complain too much. He basically employed a Daniel Cormier + elbows gameplan to perfection. I think he's gonna beat Gus in the rematch, but it should be a FAIRLY close line. Maybe -240ish? Anybody have any thoughts on what the line should open at?

I really dont get whats the big deal w early celebration, sure its somewhat disrespectful, but Jones doesn't seem like the kind of guy that does it with that intention. Only annoying thing is when he starts the eye poking, which he still does unintentionally, but he abuses his reach to manage distance and would risk poking an eye rather than stop doing that. Apart from that I see no way Jones loses title to anyone other than Gustafson. There is absolutely no way DC has a chance vs him after seeing this fight

Another thing is you could see how his expression changes throughout the rest of the Press Conference once that dude mentions the Gustafson fight and negativity around it, he ll be 10x more prepared for their next fight im guessing

jones is a ruthless, brutal and borderline dirty fighter. he kicks people in the knees, willing to put his fingers in peoples eyes, was excited when he heard glover's elbow popping, just no fucks given about his opponents safety whatsoever. exactly the kind of guy you want to bet on and i respect it, but it makes me realize i could never ever be a fighter.
