<img src="http://www.liquidpoker.net/user_pictures/cfdbf.EPTBerlingrobbery.jpg" align="right" style="margin:5px; border:1px solid black;">The German stop of the European Poker Tour is behind us for a couple of weeks now, but the event will forever be in our memories. Regrettably not for what it should, poker, but because of the robbery action of four criminals. This week, as the police was investigating the case, two of the suspects of the crime surrendered themselves.

First, a 21 year-old man, now identified as Vedat S, submitted himself on Monday. Vedat alleges he is the owner of the car used to escape from the crime scene, and that he was paid €40,000 for doing his part. He also gave the police the names of the other 3 suspects, identified by him as: "Ahmad el-Awayti, 20, of undetermined nationality; Jihad Chetwie, a 19-year-old German; and Mustafa Ucarkus, a 20-year-old Turkish citizen.” Yesterday Ahmad el-Awayti followed his steps and surrendered himself to the authorities.

According to recent reports, the criminals got away with €242,000, not €800,000, as opposed to rumors which were spread by the time the crime happened. Frank Heller, a German prosecutor, told the Associated Press that (according to information given by one of the robbers) the loot was divided equally among the four bandits following their daring casino heist.

Maybe they don't want to face hellfire when they die? That's the only logical explanation that i've come up within the last 5 minutes.

You ship me your monies, I ship you my gratitude.

only thing i can think of is pokerstars hired some sort of epic hitman to hunt them down and they found out and thus they got scared and felt they are safer in prison than they are out in public.

Everyone on this site is going to hell for gambling though. It just doesn't make sense.

true; but id like to see how long i could live on it before i commit myself to like 20+ years in jail.

I guess they decided they were going to be caught anyway, and turning yourself in would net you a lighter penalty.

bye now

You guys, it's simple; they realized that what they did was wrong. So they did was right and turned themselves in. LOL

Mexico is an awesome country, you can get away with anything all you have to do is bribe the police with $20 us. Also you can get prescription drugs without a prescription on every corner. Also the all inclusive resorts on tropical beaches for 1/10th of what it would cost in the states.

Source: I've spring breaked there a few times.

sTrAtO   Mexico. Mar 20 2010 17:46. Posts 5882

What u say about the costs is relative. People at the U.S. win 10x times what the average mexican people makes so its the same for us to get X things here and to you to get it in ur country. Thats why we also cross the border to get electronics cause they are cheaper there.

And oh man, you can bribe the police for as little as $2 USD ($20 usd has got to be a very stupid amount to bribe a police here and you would get laughed at if you tell mexican people that u give $20s ). And why you say is an awesome situation to have corruption all over the place? That is BS

It's awesome to visit. I would not want to live there.
