<img src="http://www.tlpoker.pl/staff/Soprano/dwan.jpeg" align="right" style="margin:6px; border:1px solid black;">As you might have read on our forum, Tom "durrr" Dwan, made an incredible heads-up challenge. In an interview with Bluff Magazine, Durrr stated the following:
"I’m making this heads-up challenge to the world. Anyone can accept. Four tables, minimum of $200/$400, and I’ll put up $1.5 million to their $500,000. We play 50,000 hands minimum and if they end up a dollar after rake they keep the side money or whatever. So basically, if you and I played and you won a dollar, you would get my $1.5 million and if I won a dollar I would win your $500,000.
Basically, I'm offering a free million dollars for anyone that thinks he can beat me"
Rules of the challenge are simple: 1) 200-400min (NL/PLO)
2) Players can change tables any time effective stacks are >250bb
3) Players have to reload when stacks are <75bb
4) Cash won in the challenge is kept.
5) Same stakes the whole time
6) Challenge is not open to Phil Galfond
Throughout the poker community people are wondering who might actually be interested in taking on this kind of challenge. With that much money on the line and an insane number of hands to be played, swings could be disastrous and might actually cause the player challenging Durrr to go busto. Not many players actually have the bankroll to face this challenge, let alone the skill to beat one of the best online poker players at the moment. So will this event happen? Time will tell, but we all hope it does.

"Anyone can accept"
"Challenge is not open to Phil Galfond"
does not compute. Anyway, sounds megasick and cannot wait to rail that. Would even download FTP client again o_O |

His body movement and facial expressions are somewhat "gay", but I find them kind of charming since they're not forced or played. |

let's do it the American way: we issue shares of stakes. Then we issue an option on the risk of that stake. And then we issue another derivative on the risk of the risk option! |

Why not ? He's as good as durrr, he's got the roll and Durrr gives him 3:1 he'd probably snap call this bet if he were allowed to participate |

LOL are you insane, if durrr is going to put forth such an egotistical (well, i don't entirely think it's an ego trip, it's just durrr trying to generate action he can't otherwise get) proposition, and then openly admit that phil galfond is AT LEAST profitable given the odds (which is more like saying that galfond will probably win)
then galfond will accept
it's not like durrr thinks galfond has an edge but galfond disagrees
you get real |

durrr might still think its profitable but doesnt want to play 50k hands vs galfond. also he migth think it would generate more action by adding that extra rule. i think theres a real good chance he wouldve not done it. he only playeds 20k hands? vs boostedj before they stopped there challenge. also boosted said that there were swings of 100k like every 2k hands. they were only playing nl25/50. |

Everyone seems to take this Galfond comment really serious. For me it more looks like durrr did like a joking thing friends between and put that rule in since they knew from the start they wherent gonna play eachother and everyone goes like "zomg hes scared of him! - no way hes scared of him!!". At least I think its obv he didnt put the rule there to prevent Galfond from taking the challenge and more doing it like a salute for a friend he knows is good at poker. |

when in all fact hes not scared of phil, they're friends most likely
i'd be willing to bet he would play phil under close circumstances |

Maybe the unwritten condition is that the hands have to be played *CONTINUOUSLY* (in one session), and Galfond is his nap-time stand-in. Oh, that was supposed to be a secret. |

I can't wait to see this happening, durrr underestimates Ivey's capacity to adapt to 4 tables imo... If it was 2 tables i'd probably put Ivey as a favorite but 4 tables i dunno, gotta wait and see, should be very interesting. |
