I figured my flop raising range is really top heavy so I elected to flat for once. Turn didn't change anything so I couldn't do much but flat and I lose to AK on the river now but I figure I lose too much value not shoving. |

What range do you expect to get called on the river tho? JT, it looks really strong ;D
I think ppl are much less likely to give you respect on flop than anywhere else so if there ever was a place to raise, that'd be the flop. Furthermore, you might get a club+over(s)/maybe the unlikely AQ/KK+ to shove here if you raised there.
the thing is that that flop isn't an action inducer unless a) He has a made hand (against which you almost certainly are a favourite against) or b) he has a draw. So I think it's better to get it in before that fourth diamond hits the board and shuts both down or forces you in an awkward spot. ie. get the value in while he's still drawing. |
