why did you fold this

Bytewalker   Canada. Apr 27 2006 08:12. Posts 786

why did i lay this down? villian is 20/5 1.0 aggression over 1k hands
i havent done anything fancy hes seen, and if he didnt think i had an ace he'd go for a checkraise
he has 2pair at very worst, probably a set, flushdraw a low % of the time
hes definitely expecting me to reraise him here
he could also have ak here too, but its not worth getting involved in a huge pot over

To straight up fold this hand is so weak.

Were you hoping to flop the nut flush?

He would have folded a flop AKK too because he would put him on AA

it doesnt matter that i have TP/TK, this guy knows that, he is a solid player (at these limits, solid = nutstraddler), hes not a retard whos going to limp a weak ace utg

lucifer   Sweden. Apr 27 2006 08:30. Posts 5955

LOL so wtf did he limp then? AT isnt weak? A9 isnt weak?

99 TT raaaaaise? does he play KK only for set value too?

he led out on the flop... even vs a 15/3 u at least try a raise to see where you are, its MUCH more likely he has AJ/AQ than what you're saying, admitedly im saying this with no reads whereas you obviously have some on him, but you can't just open fold AK on a board like that, more times than not u'll be ahead. If after you raise him and he reraises you fold sure, or even if he calls slow down the play of the hand but don;t fold to his single flop bet:/

I am a very consistent winner at 10nl believe me and this is a bad fold. You could easily be beat but folding like that is weak as fuck. Against some players I would make that bet with nothing but a draw because almost everyone at 10nl is either ridiculously weaktight or ridiculously loose-passive if I bet a draw there and get called I get paid if I hit if I get raised I will almost definitely have odds. Fold equity.

I would raise to 3 dollars and if he pushes MAYBE fold if I have a solid read on the player. I would consider folding this against JustFun[est] or some other lpers that play 10nl. But this LHK guy, no way. RAISE RAISE RAISE.

If he is as good as you say he is he would bet here with tons of hands inferior to AK - AQ AJ because he knows you could just have JJ-KK or some shit.

If you want to play super tightpassive atleast call and hope for a club or K on the turn. This is just a ridiculous fold I think.
