on flop his check raise limited him to QQ AA. it seemed more like QQ, like 65% QQ 35% AA. so i called flop to see his turn action. if i raise here, i lose QQ and AA stacks me.

he checked turn so i was 100% sure QQ. i wasnt sure how to maximize value out of it though. this line worked but i dont think it's best. should i make a goofy turn bet like 75 and hope he calls then get the rest in on river?

alternate line may be to bet 1/2pot on turn then 1/4 pot on riv
that doubles potsize going to riv and he won't fold for like 80
and if he does his ass is open for business and you should start going to town in position

I'd bet the turn 1/2 pot and river 1/3.

Agreed - you can value bet the whole way OR

You can check turn and overbet river.

Those are the best two options here.

Well about the "dummy" $70 bet on the turn i think it may backfire, lets say he senses weakness or something and he raises you, now you really dont know if you are against Queens or Aces, sure ur going to take his stack with Queens but i think you wont know where you stand, i would play it the same way u did.

I like the way you played it BigBalls, i don't think i would bet the turn, as the turn check forced him to pay off that very nice river bet.

I think you might have been able to put in a $120-130 size bet and he'd still be calling

So? You would lose your stack against AA and win it against QQ.

But BigBalls said here that he is 100% that his opponent has got QQ. And he has a point - it doesn't seem likes Aces.

I just think it's an awful shame not to get his stack here, when you've invested nearly half of your own.

Peace of mind cant be bought.Last edit: 08/04/2006 02:18

134$ would essentially put BigBalls all-in. This means he loses his stack against AA each time and wins against QQ some of the time. I can imagine someone with QQ folding to a bet like that on the river. I can't see them folding it to a small bet on the turn and a consequent push on the river.

Peace of mind cant be bought.

hm why u limit him to QQ AA only? i think 77 can play it the same way. (or is it just me raising 77 preflop? )

or he can basically have anything like AK/AQ and checkraising if he thinks u are bluffing with AK or something...

i tought he said he was sure on the river, if he was on the turn a small confusing turn bet wouldnt be that awful probably o_o?
