I just started playing NL100 so I don't know if that check on the turn was ok or if I could play that any better. No real read on villain except that his VPIP is 27 over a small sample

why do you check the turn here?

the point of this post was to find out why I shouldn't check turn

edit: what if he's trying to trap me? Seems alot of people cold call flop with sets and then check raise turn to extract value. My thought was that checking behind turn would screw his plan and force him to make a decision on the river. Anyways, if I thought my logic was flawless; I wouldn't have posted it here

I'd make the flop 45 to go and probably push turn.

Set is as likely as someone overplaying AQ/KQ/JQ/flush draw.

oh wait, he overbet the pot on the flop, no way he has a set

i dont think we can give the villain a certain handrange just based on his flop overbet. villain obviously sucks terribly and has no idea what he is doing as evidenced by him leading strong and calling a raise w/ a pair of 4's like this. i would just try to simplify things and do this one talentedtom style, just try to get it allin w/ ur overpair on this kind of board, and most people will gladly stack off w/ a Q.

Yeah that's what I said basically.

Thanks guys
