Don't like folding here vs a blatant fish ;/ He can prob show up with random Q8 Q9 AQ Kd9x and such shit often enough + you're not dead when he does have JT/flush

And don't forget a spazz-panicking 2pair or set.

Researchers used brain scans to show that when straight men looked at pictures of women in bikinis, areas of the brain that normally light up in anticipation of using tools, like spanners and screwdrivers, were activated.

I don't think he's a fish with the traditional sense more like a reg fish, he plays 21/16 6.5 3bet over 250 hands, so do I put him on a pair + spazz and click call? Given that it was 3way on flop I think it would be a mistake, true that it would be a small one with my top set equity but still

new shit has come to light... a-and... shit! man...

so does anything change given that he's not someone who doesn't understand relative hand strength?
am I such a huge nit for folding this?
oh lord whyyyyyyy
edit:srsly though what did he flat flop with that he then tuned into a bluff? I still think it's a fold -_-

I would call here almost always vs some random spazz

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same

apart from random spazzes,2 pairs.etc. i can see a player like him exactly play 88 or 99 this way.

lebowski   Greece. Feb 17 2013 16:50. Posts 9205

so you guys don't even agree that we are bluff catching?
mardagg tell me what 2 pair you think he plays like this given that I have AA. I said he isn't a fish he is a shortstack bad reg with somewhat reasonable stats over 250 hands, if this is a call it's because we assume he spazz overbet bluffs with something, what do you think that is? Do you often see regs play sets like this when I could have all straights and flushes?

Maybe it is a call and the fold is terrible because the line is too weird to be for value and I have top of my range, but don't tell me we aren't bluff catching here and that he could be shoving worse for value like this (esp when most 2 pairs are ruled out by me having top set and
I expect him to squeeze AQ pre anyway)

ok,so assuming i give him the credit to be somewhat bad regiish you still totally dominate 88,99 and have several outs vs the flush and str8 hands this guy is willing to play from the BB.Add to this like 5-10% other hands, which you can never exclude completely after just 250 hands from villain.
I think you are overthinking this hand way too much.
its just clear to me that the mistake you make by calling here with top set vs a made flush or str8 is much, much lower than to fold top set here vs 888 or 999 (or worse).
U can argue, would he play a set like this on the flop?
Ok, but if he would play it like this ,his turn push would make sense, because thats a scare card for him,he wants to protect his monster.
On the other hand, wouldnt he try to go for the check raise with the flush on the turn?
