New BR status:

Graph of NL50 (missing like 100$ profit that's on my laptop)

Thinking about stabbing NL100 but not sure it's a good idea since BR still a bit thin. Perhaps playing 4 tables NL50 combined with very good table selection of 2 tables of NL100?

I think my play is starting to become more and more solid, even though I feel very lost sometimes. One thing I've started to adjust is my "timing", before I pretty much acted very fast always, now I always take me time and I feel I spew a lot less now and make better valuebets.

I used to mix in higher limits a lot when taking shots, but i would rather keep doing nl50 sessions and play nl100 shots seperately! hoping for the 4k$ BR blogpost in a bit then

I would wait 3000$ for nl 100

You need to be agressive with your own bankroll!.

If you feel comfortable playing 4 tables of nl100, mixing nl50 with nl100 could be confusing. If you loose 3 bi, returns to nl50, and comes back when you're at the same point actually, you will learn exponentially if you try shots on a higher stake.

try nl100, set stoploss eg. when you have ~1600 you will move down to nl50.
grind up to 2000, move up again etc.

I d just w8 till 3k
I dont get people that just take aggro shots with 20buyins and move down when they lose like 3-4 and just repeat this till you win. Edge in poker aint that big so you kinda need a heater to move up w 20bis and feel secure and strong

I guess it's very individual how you mentally can take it with the increased limit and variance. I mean I have beaten nl100 before (and 200), which makes me wanna take more agressive shots than usual. But surely 20 buyins is not much to go with.

I'll stick to nl50 a bit longer (to 3k and then hopefully nl200 at 8k or something).

no I it's not that different. some more capable regs but it's also a lot more easy to get action with your good pairs because people fight back more pf (and is a bit more paranoid). there are plenty of fish, make sure to table select a bit more though.

well I have 7k stuck at FTP, not that horrible. managed to get out like 5k before the ship sank.

2 years ?
SpasticInk case is different tho , as he has allready beaten nl100 and 200.
If you have a job and 2k$ is not a lot of money for you I would take an aggressive shot.

I think it was you that said you preferred stars because you can play while other ppl are at work..?

Pretty sure you can do that on both ipoker and ongame up 'till nl600 except for a couple hours between 07-11 or so, I think that's the hours that sees the least amount of traffic.
If you're not madly in love with PS, I'd suggest you should check it out and get some nice rb =)

SpasticInk   Sweden. Sep 08 2011 23:22. Posts 6298

Yes that is true, I like to play some morning and noon sessions and then be done for the day so I can socialize w/ people in the evenings.

I have some troubles with the software on other skins. Somehow it affects me a lot. Before I used a mod (minimaxmod) on iPoker, and I had a nice and solid winrate. But after it stopped working (because of updates) everything went like shit.

Just the fact that it takes like 15 minutes to get up 6 tables running while stars you can do it within the minute. Well if my BR keeps growing I might put in some money there as well to play more juicy games.

Haven't played on ipoker, but they have better rb deals since they offer flat rb. Ongame has essence rb, so if you play vs. losing opponents and you win a lot, you get less rb.
Ongame has no waiting lists <3, and it's generally very easy to start new tables. No timebank though, i think i prefer it overall but it can be very annoying sometimes and both bad calls and folds do happen because of it.

Yeah, if other network's design annoys you, just stay at stars. Had that problem with boss media, god damn I hate their lay out x.x
Fortunately I really like ongame's =D

Like you said, edge in poker ain't that big. On average people on NL100 are only slightly better (or not at all) than people on NL50 and considering your winrate is VERY good, you are just stunning your bankroll growth by not moving up.

you should play a session of pure $100nl and not look at your bankroll for entire session

If at some point you feel like you lost a ton and are playing bad quit the session and move down to $50nl

More than likely you will make $100-300, over 5 sessions you will either breakeven or be up $1000 more often than you will come out a big loser

Take the shots every time, $1k is PLENTY for $50nl

I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time
