Anonymous tables on Prima

Played my first session in november today and noticed that they had added this annoying invention. All villains are just named player 1-5 and their avatars dont show. HUDs and notes become useless since stats for player 1 are gathered from all player 1s at all tables. Notes on player 1 appear on all player 1s. You cant even keep handwritten notes beside your comp since there is no way of recognizing a player after that session.

Has anyone played these things? My first impression was that the anonymous games seemed to be drawing all the fish (low stakes NLHE). They do however take away the edge of using stats, taking notes, table selecting etc. Even so I think they're probably more profitable for me than the regular games used to be. However, they're incredibly boring imo since they kill the history/table image aspect of the game.

Also, the regular games are now fewer and tougher since only the regs who use huds and/or take notes have any real incentive to play in them. So that's not really an option anymore.

I guess Ill be playing this crappy version of poker for a while and see how it works out.

For 6max they are a bit of a problem id imagine but great for HU when you couldnt otherwise get action. I think party has this too, not sure.

Huds and stats are a bastardization of the game. Should we really know someones 3b% from the highjack position?

Now I really am a busto. Thanks FTP.

i agree with maynard's point but not being able to take notes is just retarded...that's just as bad if not worse than trying to get rid of hud stats imo

shoving here as a bluff at 50NL is like explaning calcalus to a 6 month old cat wtf are you thinking - TalentedTom

sounds kinda dumb to make this 6max... but since I play without stats even with I play 10 tables 6max I guess it wouldn't matter to me

People dont 3bet light, have huge vpip and most of them are very call-happy, so with average hand reading and not many spazzy bluffs you gonna be making lots of money from it

no longterm history kind of makes it less interesting, its too bad it can't quite replicate the live poker aspect of no stats but you can recognize players

The trouble is you just try playing 4-6 of those tables and try to remember which player2 on which table just did x y z - or even if you remember which table it was on - is it the same player2 now or has someone left and been replaced by a new player while you had action on another table. It kind of reduces you to playing cards/posn and taking reads from stack sizes and play during a hand. All previous history is at best a little grey (gray for our US people).

Very true. I don't think I can do more than 2 tables if I want to develop any kind of reads other than stack sizes etc.
