Only time I lucid dreamt it scared the fuck out of me.

I caught myself in a night terror where I was being chased and for some reason realized I was in a dream - I started to really dodge and escape from these 'figures' or 'shades' much easier than I was before by running much faster and easily dodging them.

I then began to notice I was slowing down in the dream to eventually a snails crawl. That's when I noticed this horribly terrifying creature was approaching me - not massive but just how it eerily jerked and contorted it's body was not normal. It then started coming closer towards me, and as it came closer the other shades would back out and disappear.

I felt my entire body sink into the floor and my eyes were fixed on this being as it slowly came closer the fear built to the level where I think I tried to scream but nothing came out.

It then vanished and I felt it's presence right next to no paralyzed body. I remember him whispering to me that I needed to wake up - and as he whispered that to me I felt like it had decided my fate, a feeling of despair and dread drenched through every bone in my body.

When I woke up - I jumped out of bed and began turning on every fucking light I had to as I made my way to the TV room, and when I got up the stairs and turned to the tv room I saw myself watching tv. I began to walk towards myself and looked towards the kitchen when I fucking saw the creature standing a few feet away from me. It locked eyes with mine and I again felt myself being dragged down into the ground. I then began to hear a faint inaudible sound in the background which kept getting louder and louder. The figure then let out a screech and lunged for me, I clenched my eyes closed and when I noticed the screech was gone and instead my alarm clock was going off I opened them to find myself again in my room. I refused to move from my bed for a solid hour with my eyes glued to the door convinced that it would come back again...

I've had sleep issues ever since this dream - happened about 4 years ago. I still feel like sometimes if I fall asleep it'll reappear as if it has been waiting for me to return.

I've never felt anything more real than that dream and I don't believe in fucking ghosts or anything - and even when I try to rationalize it - I can't seem to get that dream out of my head.

It's not a normal lucid dream, I can't remember the name of the enzym that get's produced, but sometimes, rarely, when we get deep sleep, our brain can produce some substance that makes normal dreams feel like nothing, way more powerful, real, in depth and so powerful that when you wake up, ur body or brain does something, and erases the memory of it, so you just have this "feint" vague feeling, that there was something, but you can't quite put your finger on it.

In recent times people made dough out of some plants to re-create the substance, so you can take it, to get a high, and it's suppose to make any other drug out on the marked feel like sleeping pills in comparisontment. But since your mind want to protect you, people who really wanna see the effect record themself on the drug, or with a tape recorder, and try blabber out everything they see/saw.

Sometimes, people get these dreams and they do remember them, for some reason. Maybe it's when you get a lucid dream + that enzym, it does so that you remember it ?

I think you're talking about DMT. Def works for vivid dreams.

Pls copy the plot from a nightmare on elm street more! Anyway, that's super standard to have a dream inside a dream -- you think you wake up, but you're really still asleep. I've had like 30 lucid dreams as kid (I can't really do it anymore without training I guess) and they were never bad. If you can get to the point where you can REALIZE that you're dreaming, and still have the ability to control your dreams, then you will never have a bad lucid dream. Just some food for thought.

is that classified as lucid dreaming? i thought lucid dreaming was when you knew you were dreaming as thus had control over everything. this just sounds like some fucked up vivid nightmare.

but i know sorta the feeling youre talking about, i had a dream recently (i get bad dreams only like a few times a year) where some friends and i were being chased by some mobsters, and we knew we were gonna end up dying but we just had to figure out where to take our last stand. at first i felt confident that before i died i would take some fuckers out with me, but a grip of fear surged throughout my body as a guy with a gun pressed it against my gut, pointed up to my heart. at this moment i was paralyzed with the fear of knowing that this is the moment where i'd die, and before he pulled the trigger i woke up.

yeah it's like 4am here xD
It really started out as a lucid dream where I felt like I was in control and really was escaping the nightmare - but got pulled back into the nightmare by this figure?

yeah this isn't a lucid dream, it's close to impossible to have 'lucid nightmares' really... it's just way too exciting and a blast once you realize that you are dreaming, there's nothing scary about it.

I've never actually watched any of those elm street movies - but I understand the plot and yeah it was kind similar.

oh and fwiw, i've had a few of those experiences like yours.. really shocking experiences and they had to do with re-occurring nightmares from my childhood that lasted a few years.. they felt extremely real, as real as lucid dreams, but they were completely different

in this one i had woken up twice in dream, and the third time i thought i was waking up for real, i was in my bed and suddenly the sun started becoming stronger and stronger through my blinds and during which there was this extremely screechy and extremely loud voice that was yelling, it was like if it was coming from a god in the sky since it was so fucking loud and getting louder as the light was becoming stronger...

and then this face that ressembled the girl from the exorcist appeared suddenly and after that and i woke up for real this time... was almost paralyzed in shock
