I have 1 22" montior and 12" laptop too as 2nd screen and find it - for the most part - entirely useless. (and only use 22" screen for everything apart from my msn window)

i cant imagine having 3 - would be way too wide. I guess if i wanted whip-lash whilst playing poker id do it

need two video cards

one video card needs dual outputs

the other one can just be a crappy pci one.

Yeah, you either need 2 videocards or a device called the Matrox TripleHead 2 Go ( http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/th2go/ ) which allows you to do this with just 1 videocard. Here's a review with installation description: http://www.guru3d.com/article/matrox-...ead-2-go-digital-edition-dvi-review/1 . It's a bit of an expensive option, but if you either can't get 2 videocards (no space or you're using a laptop for example) that´s about the only way to go. If you do have space and want to get 2 videocards, make sure they´re both the same brand/manufacturer (so either 2x ATI or 2x Nvidia, both with 2 DVI-outputs)

I think 30"+ 20" > 27"+ 27" > 27"+18" > 22"+22"+22"

need 2 video cards as others have said

there are no facts only interpretations

I am using a single 30" + 20" when I'm at home. Right now I am staying at my gf's parents' place since we are in the process of moving and just using the single 30". It's large enough that you can easily 9-table without shrinking tables with minimum overlap. 6 tables fit with no overlap and lots of space left over. After using this screen, it's really hard to go back even to a 1920x1200 24" screen.

Ok, really my point is that I strongly recommend a single large monitor over a bunch of smaller ones. One thing that I find is that when I use dual screens, I have the 20" slightly to one side and I find it's harder to pay attention to the tables on it than the ones on the screen right in front of me since I have to turn my head and cannot always keep track of them. Having 3 screens would make that really difficult imo. So do consider how much you are willing to keep swinging your head around. It's a lot bigger deal that it sounds imo.

You should be able to get one for about $1k-$1.2k. Got mine for $1049 off of newegg. But yeah, they do run several times more expensive than the smaller sizes because they are bigger and typically use the more expensive S-ISP panel.
