You know these dudes. They didn't come to play poker, they came to GAMBLE. They pull a bluff here and there, but sometimes they have the hand and they stack somebody.
And here we go.. A cash cow, this dude has 400bb already and my mouth turns all watery.

So I of course cut tables to 3-4,buy-in for max and watch the dood.
But whats the best strategy to play with?
AQ+ ?
AQ+ and PP?
Open range to 25% in just light PF pots and destroy the clown when we hit hard on flop?

just play lots of pots with him, mostly in position, but lowstakes and micro doesnt really matter much anyway. call with hands that flop hard and have great implied odds, i dont like flipping with these ppl without jj-aa pf esp deep. just be patient and you usually stack these people if you wait for the right spot, coz these ppl are usually self centered egotistical maniacs who dont bother observing what u have been doing etc |

There are two ways to play these guys. The smart way, which is your normal super TAG style. Just be patient, ignore the table, put it in the background and focus on your other tables, dont let all the missed opportunities to stack him bother you. His stats will tell you exactly what kind of cards he's playing so you dont need to see what he's showing down with. Maybe look at a few big pots just to see what lines he takes. Bluff minbetting, check-minraising, spaz shoving, whatever it is so you are prepared for it.
Or theres the variance route, in which you KNOW he's raising A5o UTG, Q7s in the CO, any two in the blinds, and calling you with literally any two cards just to play the lottery. You will have to predict how far ahead of his range you really are if you start calling/raising him with hands like K8s. Someone once told me that a good way to take on bluffers is to check-raise and 3bet the fuck out of them over and over. Sure they are a maniac, but at the same time they dont honestly feel like pissing away stack after stack. Their small bankroll's will not be able to withstand this kind of pressure and they will usually heel. I've tried this and it does actually work quite well. Just be prepared to check-raise the flop and turn to be of any effect. It's high variance and what ive LEARNED overall is to just take the safe route.
But it's definitely fun to play sheriff on these guys. |
