So I went to a homegame I found on craigslist(!), and it turned out really well. It was in an upper-scale condominium complex with security up front which is pretty cool/might help it be a bit safer. The host and his friend helping were really legit nice guys and I feel totally BM because I busted both of them.

It was a 1/2 game and I had almost forgotten how soft these games are compared to nl10(LOL). I am planning to play in these games 1-2 times a week for fun and profit (soon my hourly online will crush live 1/2 so it'll be largely for fun). The only problem is that I have no roll available atm.

An online grinder was there--he said his name is ManInABox or something similar, I couldn't find him on pokerstars, he plays 30/60 HU limit with some 50/100.. anyone ever seen him around? He was a cool guy and we may end up striking up a friendship.

I also have been reading Caro's book of tells and I didn't pick up too many things last night, but I seriously outleveled the fuck out of myself against this really huge fish. I couldn't believe how face up he was playing so I folded to his overbetshove + sit there motionless + more gameflow tells. I know not to do that again. Fishies are fishies

I found myself taking some really unorthodox lines, which I will have to think on, and it was really funny how against certain players you can tell you can bet $10 into a $50 pot and have as much fold equity as a $45 bet rofl.

Anyway, everyone was really cool and I think I ran into a good group of guys to play with. Rake was reasonable at 5% and they give you beer and sandwiches for tips (one of the dude's girlfriends comes and waitresses). The host said he knows another guy who runs 3 nights a week and is legit as well, so I can go play live in a pretty secure environment whenever I'd like.

Anyway I finish up 1bi and that's what I really matters for now

Biggest problem is that I really don't have the proper roll for these games and I'mma have to figure something out.

Is there any interest in backing for live 1/2 - 2/5 from you guys? I'm not sure if this is ever done online. I'll try and get some kind of track record of winning in these games first, though. Its too bad I don't know any of you IRL either. Maybe when I meet some of you in vegas ^^. Perhaps I'll just ask my grandma for a stake rofl <3

Looking to pick up a laptop tomorrow (assuming my fuckin bankwire clears from usemywallet), I have one picked out and everything ^^ Toshiba Sattellite m305 if you're curious http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.j...product&cp=1&id=1218040477834

Gonna get on my grind and try to put in 30-40 hours by next Monday. Should go fine as long as I don't hit any gross discouraging downswongz.

you can find your city and look under activities section i think, or group shit. There should be some card games advertised. Go at your own risk

Just goto your city and search "poker" in the community or events section. I also found a site but I'm sure success varies, I only msg'd one person on it. www.K9poker.com

I live in FL, gl in the $30 bounty ^_^.

The host I was talking to has had some bad experiences with home games, apparently we had some douchebags here in Orlando running around robbing homegames at the end of last year. They've been arrested, but there are always more douchebags out there.. so yah. They said you ought to avoid games that are just in someone's house vs say a condo complex w/ security upfront, and cameras. Still probably not completely safe, unfortunately..

I think I am OK for tells live. I just try to act similarly in most situations and the only way I 'act' is just by trying to act similarly in every situation to avoid tells lol. ^^

if they are charging rake at a homegame and advertising on craigslist I'd be more worried about the cops personally

Im like a motherfucking bulletproof tiger

ya I thought about that, but no one really brought that up at all. I'll ask if anyone there has ever had any run ins with the police. Should probably take a look at the law on this real quick too, since the cops would likely just rob us blind ala forfeiture laws. We *MIGHT* get beat up less than if they were 4 random masked guys busting in, atleast.
