so, i wasnt really planning a big whine post or anything, but maybe i kind of need one.

mainly im thinking about when i've read people like baal post things along the lines of "good players never breakeven for x amount of hands"

look at my graph. i fucking broke even over like 110k hands and it will probably go even longer.

ive made the decision to stay at nl50 until 7,500 bankroll, but with my br trapped eternally between 4k-5k it doesnt look like it will ever happen.

i try to sit down and grind out a lot of hands. i make decent decisions. but the beginning of november just has me absolutely soulcrushed. the point is not that i ran like -600 ev over 6 days, its more that i ran -600 over 6 days in the middle of a 120k breakeven. and i dont really know anymore. i really fucking dont.

i mean ill probably put myself through more nl50 grinding, and im pretty sure ill only play when im capable of making good decisions, but im just stressed, you know? and i swear i only play when im not tilted, i stop when i am, and i put in lots of time, and i read about the game, watch videos, ask for help, talk to fellow grinders.

but what now? im sorry guys, im fucking stressed about this shit. and my results based parents are just putting me worse on life tilt. because i cant just magically produce results. blaaaaah

Last 150k hands:

You're still really well rolled for NL100 right (40-50 bi)? After your first decent winning session at NL50, move back up to NL100, unless you feel like you were getting strongly outplayed. From the hands you've posted, it looks like you're just hitting a case of ridiculous coolers and bad beats.

Obviously you put in like a million more hands than me and play higher limits, but I've been going through the exact same thing. Don't force yourself to play a lower limit if you just graduated from it unless your roll is in bad shape for the next level. It will just make you go on ridiculous monkey tilt when your bad run continues back at NL50.

Basically what I'm saying is, unless you honestly don't think you can beat NL100, don't move down. Perhaps this is around the time you should consider hiring a coach as well?

no need for a coach. variance is a bitch sometimes. go over those hands where you lost a large amount. if most of them seem standard to you then i dont think you have much to worry about. if you find you are getting out of line a lot then there you go, fix that problem.

If you're losing on 50NL you're playing too many tables and really over-thinking the game. You should just be trying to create the simplest and most basic strategy that creates consistent profit.

if you are feeling quite stressed and not enjoying playing poker, then just take a break for a bit.

Don't listen to edzwoo. There is no reason to play at NL100 if you aren't feeling confident, whether you are just running bad or really playing bad.

Better thing is to just do what you are doing. Stay at a level where you are comfortable and have basically no chance of going busto so that you can regain confidence in your game. Once you do that, then it is time to move up to the highest level you feel comfortable playing your A-game.

What you should be doing more than playing, however, is just going through your hands and trying to find leaks. Talking to other players that can give positive criticism about how you are playing will really benefit you as well, because they might see some things that you aren't seeing and help you fix them. A coach may not be necessary, but conversation will really help you a lot. Also, getting someone to maybe sweat you or playing joint sessions will also help because then people can see how you make decisions in action and help you find/fix leaks that way.

i ran FAR WORSE than you and funny thing is, when i moved down i ran EVEN WORSE. just keep playing 50nl and the rakeback will give you some added money to the cashier. you can obviously beat the level skill wise.

I guess this applies better to him, but from a personal perspective, I would go nuts if what chris said above happened to me.
