Random Rant at 1:40AM - Incomplete Thoughts - CHECK
- Incomplete Sentences - CHECK
- Work In The Morning - CHECK
+LETS DO THIS
I wonder if we'll see an atheist president in our lifetime? Or to be more specific, one that is outspoken and truthfully upholds the constitution.
Why are religious people so appalled and frightened by us? The burden of proof doesn't lie on the Atheists. That is the biggest piece of shit I've ever heard. It's comparable to having someone scientifically prove there is no Santa. HOW CAN WE PROVE SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T EXIST WHEN IT WAS MADE UP TO BEGIN WITH!? I really hope the hadron collider just rapes the fuck out of religion by showing us how the universe was created and maybe even showing us something I still think is extremely possible.
I think it's a possibility that we are part of something, that is part of something, that is part of something times infinity. Nothing has to be created, because it's infinite, do you really think a blood cell knows its a blood cell and knows what it's purpose is? No, and that's the beauty of this life we get. We don't know wtf we are doing here, but we're doing it.
How can we progress as a country when we still have the basic Christian marriage as a foundation in the United States? How can we progress when the world's religions continues to rape and embed fear and bigotry into the minds of innocent children? Are you religious people so ignorant to see if you were born in India your belief system would be totally different. Or if you were born in Ancient Greece or whatever time period you want to choose. EVERYTHING that you people have built up to have such high meaning, is meaningless and pathetic.
I understand why religion exists, it took me a while to accept my own mortality, and I'd love to party it up for infinity with everything I ever wanted because it's such a great place. When I really think of 'heaven' or an 'after-life' I cant stop thinking about how fairy talish this shit really is. REALLY... ETERNAL HAPPINESS OR ETERNAL DAMNATION? I'd take eternal damnation any day. I keep picturing an older clip from the Twilight Zone where this guy wakes up in a casino and he starts winning. But he never stops winning and everything he plays he wins. Doesn't that sound great! FOREVER! AND YOU'RE STUCK THERE! Fuck that :
We are playing crusades already and I don't think this will end anytime soon, considering religion has it's slithering hand in everything around us.
/end rant
I'm tired as fuck

absence of proof =/= proof of absence
also, time is finite and so is the universe
with that said, religion is a mixed blessing at best in politics, but lately it seems to be a pretty negative influence imo.
i suppose i adhere to agnosticism with heavy tendencies towards atheism for the record |

ive yet to see any rants against the atheism. Using offense as defense, you try to undermine other peoples belief because you have doubt in your own disbelief, because lets face it, everyone wants to have a purpose.
How about you accept the path you chosen and just let everyone do their own thing? |

I do not doubt that there is no 'GOD'. If there was one, I don't believe he would be so egotistical to demand prayers + to spread his word. Sounds like a rich spoiled kid rather than a deity.
Acceptance of no purpose is the most relieving conclusion to come to. How can a believer live there life to the fullest when they know they have a better life ahead of them? An atheist understands this is it.
As for the last part.... I would be on my way except it does affect my everyday life. If you lived in America we'd have the same rights etc... So why do so many people believe their rights are somehow more important than mine? I have the right to say enough fucking religion as everyone else does that "spreads the word of GOD" |

effectively i live my life as an atheist if it makes you feel better...lol
i just dont see how you can be so sure in your beliefs, just as i dont see how a christian or muslim or any other religious person can be so sure in theirs. you have just as much proof as they. empiricism is the way to go, but as i said absence of proof is not proof of absence.
i do find many aspects of major organized religions to be ludicrous tho, but ill still reserve final judgement |

abortion? stem cell research?

All tricky subjects, and not just because of "God told us not to!"

hell, look at ur countries bills. "In God We Trust"

Yea yea and freemasonic symbols. Your point?
Besides in a predominantly religious society what do you expect? It to be carved around your personal opinion? Unreasonable. |

Well if you wanna get technical i do believe He is offering us an eternal life in Heaven for a couple of prayers a day? Small price to pay. In as a poker player you of all people should understand how +EV religion is. A couple of sacrifices and a couple of minutes to pray in exchange for ETERNAL happiness? I shove all day.
Besides prayer is not for God. Prayer is for people to feel better.
And spreading his word? Oh man, Heaven forbid i teach another man not to kill or cheat on his wife. Thats so bad and egoistic!

Well you know, some people(dem weirdos) actually consider living their life helping other people being living it to the fullest.

"If there was God why wouldnt he make us mindless happy monkeys!"
Well, i dont really know if its the best course of action to take, i sure would like to be happy, but id like to keep my mind too.

erm, mindless happy monkeys...i guess if there is a god, he made us mindless random cells that eventually evolved into humans with a brain. The earth is just a rock with bacteria on it which eventually grew into it's own little ecosystem in the universe. Probably just some random experiment in the future's collider which has created our universe and we are actually only lasting less than one millisecond inside of an experiment which feels like an eternity for us. WRAP YOUR MIND AROUND THAT ONE. |

-Ah yes, since I have doubts that obviously is the proof [I don't see where you're going with this point]

In as a poker player you of all people should understand how +EV religion is. A couple of sacrifices and a couple of minutes to pray in exchange for ETERNAL happiness? I shove all day.
-Again I think eternal happiness would be absolute shit. ETERNAL HAPPINESS?! How does one have eternal happiness without trying to take a screwdriver to their own brain after even oh a few million years of 'bliss'
Besides prayer is not for God. Prayer is for people to feel better.
-Great, so prayer is only to help the people who doubt there is a GOD... But at least it makes you feel better if you pray to something made up?
And spreading his word? Oh man, Heaven forbid i teach another man not to kill or cheat on his wife. Thats so bad and egoistic!
-You're right! Because atheists have NO SENSE of morality because that's what religion is for. :

-I love when christians bring up the point of 'but what about all the GOOD religion brings about' You really think the people who volunteer their time on behalf of religion wouldn't volunteer their time because they are just a good person? Despite popular belief [religious point of view] you can be atheist AND volunteer! Crazy I know!

I don't see how I'm being anymore close minded then anyone else here.
I guess having a strong viewpoint polar opposite of the norm is now close minded.
I'm such an ass to even attempt to tear religion down :[ damn my hypocrisy.
-well i'm off to work. I hope by the time I get home there is some huge religious nit on LP that tears into me |
