Today's summary:

Commentary:
I'm starting to think that 9 tables may be hindering my game a bit. I'm running extremely tight (15/13 over 16k hands), and I CAN'T FUCKING GET PAID. Near the end of my session, I closed all but 3 of my tables, and I noticed a significant difference.
First, I only have one monitor, and when I run 9 tables, each table is pretty small. It's tough for me to see my PAHUD stats and even usernames. If a villain doesn't have an avatar I recognize, I probably won't realize who I'm playing against. Secondly, when I'm running 3-4 tables, I can really concentrate on every action; I go into pure robot mode (unless there's a villain with a lot of history at my table) when I 9-table.
The problem is that I only have an hour a day to play. 9-tabling I can get in ~700 hands/hour, while I can only play 400-500 hands/hour 4-tabling.
I'll be coming up on my 3rd month of break-even poker, and I'll continue to 9-table through July, but if something doesn't change, I think I'll try to cut back to 4 beginning in August.
Anyhow, I was in Vegas last weekend for a convention, and it was hot as all balls. Pretty boring trip; arrived Saturday afternoon, had an early dinner, then saw Phantom (fag!) Saturday night. Went to a club at the Mirage after dinner, and then crashed out. Woke up early Sunday morning, and hit the $1/1/2 game. It had a $100 buy-in, but if you dipped under $100, you can buy-in for another $100. So I paid a big blind, then topped off at $198 I haven't played a live game in...almost 6 months, and it draaaaaaaaaagged. Stacked some Canadian cowboy on a Tdxdx flop with AKd, he showed KTo, turn bricked, and the river brought an ace Cashed out ~$350 after about 5 hours. Although I enjoy the action/social aspect of live play, the downtime was unbearable. I had to resort to ordering a Crown/coke (or 5) just to pass the time in between hands. The convention was...a convention, and I flew back home in the evening.
My buddy took care of my precious angel Tank while I was away.

However, he sent me a rather confusing message Saturday night...

What do you think it means
On to the hands-

This guy was running pretty aggressively - 27/19/7.5 over 150 hands. I'm not completely comfortable with my call on the flop, but I don't think he had much. Not exactly sure how he folds red QQ+ on the turn if he did have me beat. He asked me afterward if I flopped a set. Really upset that I didn't get paid here.

I thought this was a good spot for a 2-barrel. How often do I get AT to fold here?

wow 11/10 at 6max that's some nitty shiz :O maybe you should cut down on tables and just loosen up, it's all about what works for YOU. i used to 8-12 table stars all the time until i went to UB and 4 tabled (5 was max and the tables there were way faster than anywhere else at the time) and since then i've just got used to 4 tabling, it works for me so i'm sticking to that. if you think 9 is too much try 8 tables and if that works for you then that's cool, if not then try 6 tabling or 4 tabling or whatever, just try out different amounts of tables and see how it goes. |

You should at least cut down to 6, if not 4. At 50nl you can still play very robotically and win (i.e. devon76x) but you should be getting used to playing a looser style, at least 18/15 or so. |

yeah i was 9tabling for months and was stuck at nl100. i took a week break because i was frustrated and did some reading. i came back only play 4 and my roll grew quickly and now i'm at nl200 and have had a great start. i make more read based plays and am not on autopilot so that has to be the reason for my success. good luck. |

Thanks for the replies.
I guess my main concern is maintaining a good winrate while playing ~1/2 the hands. Considering I've forgotten how to be a winning player, I suppose I don't have much to lose. |

I think the message means it's time for some serious ass kicking. I'm gonna assume it's a drunken joke ;p |
