So my cousin, who taught me how to play poker 2 years ago (he's playing 1kNL online now), managed to make me play 6max 1k NLHE table live yesterday. It was the biggest game live ever in my city. I thought it'd be cool to win something there cause I was kinda broke live I still can't withdraw money through Neteller card. So 1000 Polish Zlotys = $360 so it's less than a buy-in online for me.
My cousin staked me for 1k first. I've lost a few pots cause of my unsuccessful bluffs. I've had about 300 left and I hate playing as a shortstack so he staked me 700. The game was kinda boring untill I picked up KK. I can't remember preflop action but I believe there were a few limpers and I raised to 80 or so from blinds.2 or even 3 guys called. The flop came K3x. I bet kinda smallish - 175 to make someone calls it. Guy named Richie (known as really loose guy, bluffer etc.; he was playing mostly for fun ) called. Then some random turn came, I bet - he called, 3 on the river completed the full house and I got it all in. He had KT I guess. I managed to win my losses back and I was up 300.
Once I kad KJ, raised it from early position and got called by a LAG, good pla<x>yer. The flop came JT7 w/ two clubs. I bet and he called. Turn came another T. I checked. He fired about 160. I was thinking about raising to make him fold his draw or even a J. But I called. River came A and there was check check. He showed A6 clubs.
So I had a lil less than 1500. I picked up another pair of kings (4th this evening I believe ) from blinds. The guy from the full house hand limp/called my pf raise ( prolly there was another limper but I just don't remember ). The board was Q88 with two clubs. I bet 125 or so. He was going to call but then he said with happiness in his voice that he's gonna put 200 more. He bluffed a lot earlier and was really loose all the time (for example he managed to call down w/ A high to the showdown and won 900 pot ). He could've had any hand. I just called. The turn was a blank and I check/called his 400 bet. I was really scared of 8. The river was again some blank but I decided to check again. He seemed really confident about his hand and acted like he never did before. He had me covered. First he looked as his cards and said he wasn't going to make me more sad then said 'I put you all-in'. Someone from our table shouted that it was a big pot out there. About 20 people were looking at me making final decision. It was kinda stressful situation. I thought for a few minutes ' what he could have. He was acting like never before. it's really weird'. I was thinking about folding but there was like 2200 in the pot including his river bet. I had to call. And I finally did. I was looking for an 8 in his cards but he said sth like 'You got me boy' and turned over his JdTd. This pot so far is the biggest ever played in my city After he showed his hand I was feeling great :D My heart was still beating
fast.
EDIT: I forgot to tell that this pot was a bit under 3k ( I believe it was exactly 2940 and it's about $1050) and it's so far my biggest pot won ever in my life.
After this pot I picked up only one good hand. I raised AKo from blinds into 2 limpers. They both called. The flop came As7sTd. I bet 125. First limper (guy from KJ hand) raised me 225 more. The other one told he was going to do it too and was kinda upset he couldn't and finally folded. I called. The turn came 9d. I checked and he fired 750 and had 265 left. I thought a bit and folded cause I knew I was beaten and I was only ahead of a bluff. I showed my hand as well as he did. He had T7o. Dealer showed river and it was a blank so I'd have lost if I had called. I'm really happy with my play there.
At the end of the night I was up 700 zlotys so it's not bad. Now I have some cash to hang out with friends for another few weeks and maybe buy me some clothes
I hope it's a good-read and the grammar was good too . Actually I have one question. I'm not always sure when to use Past Simple tense and when Present Perfect tense. If someone has any tips please write it in comments or PM me
Good luck to everyone

i'd recommend playing live lower than you play normal and just have fun and raise almost every hand without looking at your cards. this way you're forced to play more hands and live poker ain't boring |

use past tense when you tell about an event that lies in the past and which is FINISHED. present perfect when you tell about an event which starts in the past but still goes on until the present.
i.e. I have lived in this city for 15 years. (when you still live there today)
or
In the year 2000, i lived in this city.( But not anymore)
