ggplz i think u have a 5% or less valid point in saying 'going against parents'. Poker is not easy and no guarantee for money as opposed to a job. Also poker does not go into the normal 'resume' of work you have done when trying to get a job later on. I say normal, cause who knows, some jobs might actually find 'good poker skillz' appealing. Anyways, you know whats best for you, making nice money now might seem like a good thing... you don't know in the future.

ps: i say 5% because less than 5% of the players are successful enough to open their own business in a near future.

I think it is good to have some kind of plan and even although that plan might not work as stated, a lot of the details cant be explained right now. I think that in the next 5-6 months i will be deciding exactly what route i am going to take (next years university course starts in about 6 months). What my game needs right now is complete dedication and focus and even although it might not seem to be the best plan at the moment, i am willing to go with it and see what happens.

I know a lot of businesses fail, this is why u have to be 100% dedicated. The main reason i choose this route is that i dont like the idea of working for someone else, you dont make as much (over time) as someone who owns their own company and my father is a sucessful businessman who is doing huge property deals now. He will be around to give me strong advice on what to do with any money i accumulate from poker.
